After graduating, he moved his growing family to Canada, where he was one of very few candidates accepted to Dalhousie University Faculty of Dentistry. After graduating in 2010, Dr. Buxton and his family relocated to Bangor to begin his dental career by joining Maine Family Dental Practice.
Dr. Buxton and his family fell in love with the Northeast while he was attending dental school in Halifax, Nova Scotia. They are a close family, and they love Maine for the outdoors, the people, and the lifestyle.In his spare time, Dr. Buxton enjoys spending time in the outdoors, physical fitness, and spending time with his wife and four young children.
Julie is one of our skilled and friendly dental hygienists. A graduate of the University of Maine Augusta Dental Hygiene Program, Julie has been a valued member of our team for seven years. Notably, Julie earned the Golden Scaler Award in 2003. This is an award given to outstanding dental hygiene students.
Julies favorite part of working at Maine Family Dental Practice is connecting with each patient and helping them toward better dental health. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, playing piano, practicing yoga, and relaxing with her family.
Amy has been a dental hygienist since 2012. She has three children. Conner (17), Colby (8), and Madison (5). They have two pets. A cat named Coco and a hedgehog named Oreo. She enjoys camping, fishing and just being in the outdoors. She is a resident of Glenburn and has lived in Maine her whole life.
Amanda is a member of our hygiene team. She is a recent graduate of the University of New England where she attained dual bachelors degrees in both medical biology and dental hygiene. She lives in Levant with her husband Luke, their daughter and their two dogs Izzy and Ari. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends and exploring Maine.
As a dental assistant at Maine Family Dental Practice, Nicole most enjoys working with people, getting to know our patients, and helping them with their dental needs. She is a graduate of the University of Maine Augusta Dental Assisting program. One of her top priorities is educating patients about good dental health practices, and she has even been awarded the Excellent Patient Educator Award.
Beckey is originally from Clinton, Utah, and lives with her husband (Dr. Buxton) and her four children. When shes not managing the office, she enjoys reading and spending time with her wonderful children.
Cinda joined our practice in 2020 but has been in the dental field for 17 years. She lives in Carmel with her husband, Irving. She enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. In her spare time, she likes to go camping with her family.
If youve got questions about financing and insurance, Sherri is a great person to speak with. She is our patient relations and insurance coordinator and has been with Maine Family Dental Practice for 29 years. When asked what her favorite part of her job is, Sherri said, our patients!

Love this dentists office! Staff is super friendly and makes you feel comfortable. Beautiful waiting room and overall a wonderful experience, minus the fillings, though they weren't too bad!

I had a cleaning and first appointment a couple months ago. Everyone was very nice and the cleaning was not uncomfortable; however, I was told once the dentist came in that I had needed 5 fillings (at age 26 I'd only every needed one before). I was so embarrassed and scheduled them right away. Once home I decided to get another opinion and was checked by another local dentist. This dentist told me I only had 3 small cavities. I am appalled that an office would take advantage of a patient like that, and I will now be under a new doctor's care.

My experience with Maine Family Dentist was excellent. The receptionists were friendly and very attentive. As a new patient I was able to fill out all necessary forms right on the website, which I highly recommend. I was called back w/I a matter of minuets. Each procedure was explained and I knew exactly what was taking place before it happened. The dental assistant who worked on me was friendly and very professional. One of the nicest offices I have been to.

Just tried to make an appointment for my sons. The receptionist assumed she knew what I needed and referred me back to my previous dentist. We were looking for a new dentist and have loads of work required. Too bad. Looks like there's a tonne of competition in Bangor. Probably not the best way to handle calls looking for appointments. As they say, everything happens for a reason. I guess we weren't meant to be patients here.

Staff is very friendly ! They don't criticize you on the condition of your teeth they try to help you improve the quality of your teeth. If you are not a dentist fan this is the place to come they make you feel relaxed and that you have the ability to stop if needed. I would and do recommend them to anybody who is looking for a great dentist that is caring ,friendly and good at there job.

I received a phone call just before I walked in where my work needed my attention almost immediately. I asked if they could get me right in and out and they did everything to help, and got me right in and out. Thanks so much!!
