Dr. Kirk Round received his dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. While there, Dr. Round was a founder of the Orthodontic and Oral & Maxillofacial surgery clubs, as well as a charter member of the Green Initiative, which worked on incorporating environmental awareness into the medical field.
After dental school, Dr. Round attended the world renowned Orthodontic program at the University of Rochester, and earned his post-doctoral certificate in Orthodontics. His research there focused on the effects of tooth movement on patient's soft tissue profiles, and provided him a solid foundation in biomechanics, which underlie all orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Round is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, and board eligible for the American Board of Orthodontics. Born and raised in Connecticut, he graduated with a degree in Political Science from the University of Connecticut after serving four years in the United States Marine Corps.
He frequently attends conferences to keep up-to-date on the latest orthodontic innovations, allowing him to further stay current with the latest technique and technology to provide the best patient care.
Outside of working to improve the smiles of children and adults alike, Dr. Round enjoys woodworking, sailing, and is an avid outdoorsman. He is excited to join the MCO family, and share his positive and fun approach to orthodontics with his patients.

Lisa is dedicated to making sure that our new patients have a pleasant experience during new-patient exams, consults, and treatment enrollment. She loves making a difference in the lives and self-esteem of our patients by being a part of their new, beautiful smiles. Shes been an exceptional part of our team since 2006.
Tammy has a husband of 15 years, three children, two granddaughters, and a Pug named Dover. She loves camping, four-wheel trail riding, and going on cruises, especially to Hawaii. You may also see her around town at her familys sporting events, and when she volunteers for Lobster Festival!
Joyce has been working with Maine Coast Orthodontics since 2005. She loves seeing the changes that our patients undergo when they receive orthodontic treatment. Joyce has worked in health care for over 20 years, and she feels that working at our practice has been the most rewarding experience for her. Joyce enjoys helping others, and looks forward to sharing in your orthodontic experience and the many smiles that you have yet to share.
We are so very lucky to have Dara rejoin the Maine Coast Orthodontics team. She began working with Maine Coast Orthodontics in 1995after earning a degree in medical laboratory science from UMA. Dara left the practice after 12 years to further her education and earned a degree in dental hygiene from UMA in 2009. She worked in a local general dentistsoffice for five years before returning to us in April 2014. Although she enjoyed her time in general dentistry, orthodontics is her true passion.
Dara is great at engaging patients in their treatment through education of the orthodontic process. She enjoys being part of our patients transformation from a bit of fear and trepidation to a beautiful smile thats bursting with a sense of confidence, accomplishment, and pride.

The kids were treated very well, most of the staff were great, and Dr. Round knows how to work with teens. I missed the last two payments (no idea my HSA had been exhausted). I had two in braces at the same time. Busy summer, mail piles up. I called apologetically, settled my balance, and then I get an attitude when I ask to reschedule my son's appointment - that they canceled for the missed payment. When someone has paid over $12k, not covered, you do not treat people with contempt. Today my husband and son were a few minutes late, and I was told by phone that they have other patients and my son would have to wait 45 minutes. He was just picking up retainers. They did see him on time, but whoever called me had no business speaking on behalf of the orthodontist practice in this way. All four of my kids had their braces through this practice. Twenty five thousand dollars. The attitude was unwelcome, and it only takes one to leave us with a bad feeling about the entire experience.

I appreciated the clear and friendly consultation. Great job! The photos were were very helpful in understanding the problem. I left with a quote on two options but it did not include the outcomes. For example, it would be very helpful to include the benefits and expected outcomes as well as some of the drawbacks and further areas that may need attention. These were discussed briefly but not put into the materials sent with me. I called later and asked for an email with this information. Update: a week later and I have still not heard a reply from my email request.

We receive such thoughtful, attentive, personal service at Maine Coast Orthodontics. Dr. Round is wonderful and really gets to know his patients, and everything is explained carefully and procedures are done gently for our kid with sensory processing issues. We prefer some of the assistants and other staff over others, but overall, we've had a wonderful experience there and Dr. Round always responds to our feedback and requests.

We were on vacation from Seattle and my son broke a bracket that was causing him some pain. When I called Dr. Round's office the secretary, Tammy, told us to immediately stop by and Dr. Round would take care of it. When we arrived, Dr. Round immediately saw my son and took great care of him. Extremely friendly atmosphere. I can't thank Dr. Round and his staff enough for promptly addressing the problem. I highly recommend!
