Dr. Imam received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from Nigeria in 1986, and practiced in Nigeria before moving to the United Kingdom, where he did his Oral & Maxillofacial Residency Training. Dr. Imam attended New York University College of Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1999. Since that time, he has continued to expand his knowledge and skills through continuing education courses. He also served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU College of Dentistry for fifteen years (1999-2014).
Dr. Imam has over 30 plus years practicing dentistry and is dedicated to providing the highest standard of dental care utilizing state-of-the-art technology with an emphasis on Biological Dentistry. A member of the Academy of General Dentistry, he received two years of training in implant dentistry as well as two years of training in TMD and orofacial pain at NYU. It is in these three areas that Dr. Imam has a special interest. He is an accredited member of the IAOMT and is SMART certified.
Dr. Khan has been practicing dentistry for more than 35 years. After receiving his Bachelor of Dental Surgery, BDS from GDC Bengaluru, India, he proceeded to Austria for Oral Surgery Residency in Austria for more than 15 years.
As an accredited member of International Association of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) and SMART certified, Dr. Khan maintains many hours of continuing education each year. His areas of special interest include TMJ therapy, smile make overs, Orthodontics and myo-functional therapy.
Our hygienist extraordinaire, Jake, has been with us for fourteen years. She enjoys working with patients on formulating a plan for prevention based on their unique needs. From a biologic dentistry perspective, a lot can be done to prevent and treat problems like gum disease. Patients appreciate Jake's gentleness in care and her friendly attitude. Jake loves spending time with her two sons.

I drive over an hour to this amazing dental practice. The staff is lovely, warm and caring. The dentists are gentle, thoughtful, experienced, wise and excellent technicians. I am reticent about dentists but in their able hands I feel relaxed. I am confident in their expertise.

I continue to enjoy my experience here with lasting impressions. Dr Khan is a superlative and amusing practitioner, i do look forward to his company. MCDM has excellent staff, prompt appointment notices and patient comfort is one of their highest priorities. I had a wisdom tooth extracted today, it was both painless and thrilling to hold a mirror and observe portions of the procedure!

All the staff and Dentist are very friendly and seemed very willing to help you. Until, they didnt. After consulting my PCP to be able to prescribe my dental pre med when my tooth did get infected, never called me back so I could be treated with antibiotics. Their concerns were why I hadn't called the oral surgeon yet which was delayed because I had to request it twice and when it did finally go through, the dentist didn't call me back. Had to call my PCP's on call doctor to prescribe and got a bashing from that because originally, they prescribed me with a treatment med and not a pre med. Never opened the original med because there wasnt a need to till I received an appointment to see oral surgeon to have the broken tooth and another tooth pulled. This Dentist seems very eager to work on less needed dental work than the really needed teeth that need to be out or done first. Meaning, they want the biggest amount of money from you first in their pocket. That's not CARE. And, they don't offer any Dental plans and did not even ask if I had insurance or try to put it thru. But, they are very friendly????

Zero stars is more appropriate. Dr. Imam did a root canal on my birthday 5 years ago and the pain did not go away. After not being able to eat on that side and losing too much weight, I went to another dentist 3 years ago and they had to extract the tooth, do a bone graft and ceramic implant. He also corrected what was done to my mouth by Dr. Imam and it's cost $20,000+. Fast forward onto today: my fiance just came home from a new dentist and has to have his root canal (that Dr. Imam did) redone. The X-Rays and scans show he is missing part of his skull above the tooth. Your office was extremely dismissive to me when I called to talk about my issues then and now both of us have proof of improper care. My root canal was over drilled and the hole went into the maxillary sinus and it appears the same happened with my fiance's. Dr. Imam also said I had a mesiodens in the front of my mouth and no CT or X-Ray has ever shown that, so I'm not sure if he was even looking at my scans..

If you currently have a dentist but you often wonder if it can actually be PLEASANT to go to one, please think about these folks. My health has improved a hundredfold simply because they SAFELY removed the metal amalgams from my mouth. They are professional, friendly, and they are genuinely concerned about YOUR outcome. Technologically superior to anywhere else in Maine. And, NO I DO NOT WORK FOR THEM. Just a grateful patient.
