Dr. Elaine Schilling started her career in dentistry soon after her high school graduation where she began working as a dental assistant. After seven years as a chairside dental assistant, she entered Texas Woman's University Dental Hygiene program which she completed in the Spring of 1991. She entered into Baylor College of Dentistry that Fall and Dallas, Texas became her home for the next four years.
During her time there several professors encouraged her to think about specializing in Prosthodontics. Before signing onto another three years of higher, she had the opportunity to spend some time with Baylor residents. After much discernment, she knew her passion was the restorative area of Prosthodontics.
Upon graduation, in 1995 she immediately entered Texas A&M University Systems Baylor College of Dentistry (a big transition year for the school and the new Dr. Schilling). In 1998 she graduated with her Prosthodontic Specialty Degree and opened North Texas Dental Specialists in Muenster and Sherman, Texas. A business move in Muenster gave her the idea to re-name the dental clinic to Smiles by German Design in honor of her German heritage.
Soon to follow was the sale of the Sherman practice to concentrate on bringing her niece Dr. Dana Fuhrmann into her practice, and eventual ownership. With twenty plus years of expertise, Dr. Schilling has acquired Main Street Dental Clinic in Whitesboro, Texas. She loves dentistry, and a good project to work on and is never bored with life and all God has provided for her and her husband Dale.

Absolutely the best dentist office I've been to!! So clean and thorough, the staff is so nice as well. They've got two forever patients from my husband and I!

Dr. Schilling is a great dentist who looks out for the patient's interests. She brings in experts when needed, so no extensive travel is required. The staff is friendly and helpful and really likes the patients. Excellent place, excellent people

The staff and assistants were awesome. Very helpful and genuinely concerned about every aspect of our visit. The actual dentist, not so much. Horrible chair side manner. After telling her that the numbing agent had worn off and the nitrous was having no effect she surprised me with a needle in my mouth. No warning or attempt to explain anything to me. All of this and she still never even introduced herself to me, a new patient to her office. It was entertaining however to hear her talk down to her staff and treat them like children. Again, the staff there was great, I feel for them having to deal with that environment but I wouldn't recommend scheduling a visit.

Dr. Schilling found that my wife's implants had not been properly cleaned by others while doing a denture adjustment. She is a very caring person and a wants only the best for her patients. The office has been remodeled and no longer smells musty. We follow her where ever she goes; one of the best!

Dr. Schilling is one of the most compassionate people I've ever known. She treats her patients like family. She goes above and beyond in every way to make you feel comfortable in her office. Her office is newly remodeled and so cute and I highly recommend her!
