  • Even if you are meticulous about cleaning your teeth properly and twice a day, teeth naturally darken in color as we age. Furthermore, our love for certain types of food and drink, such as dark coffee and wine, or certain medications only add to the problem and present us with a never-ending battle to maintain that beautiful white smile.

A bright white smile is one of the most attractive features and is increasingly something mentioned in dating profiles and other areas of life where people are specifically thinking about appearance. Bright white teeth can demonstrate to a prospective partner a high standard of personal care and hygiene.

that the teeth naturally darken as we age? Furthermore, certain foods, beverages, medications and habits can contribute to a darker, yellowed, or stained smile. However, it is possible to erase years of stains in a single professional whitening session and sustain those results for many years with proper maintenance. According to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, professional whitening is best maintained by a combination of good oral care and take-home whitening treatments as recommended by your dentist.

Teeth whitening is rapidly becoming one of the most popular dental treatments in Gresham, and it is undoubtedly one that delivers the wow factor upon completion. As its name suggests, teeth whitening uses a process of bleaching to remove the dark, unsightly stains giving you a much brighter, whiter smile. The process is quick, pain-free and many patients tell us they walk out of the practice feeling full of confidence and unable to stop smiling and showing off their beautiful teeth.

A: Tooth whitening does not cause any permanent damage to enamel or any other tooth structures. Although it can be undertaken at home, it is advisable to consult a dentist before starting any procedures, to ensure there are no underlying issues.

A: There is a possibility that after the treatment, your teeth may feel more sensitive, but if you do experience an increase in sensitivity, this will typically only last a couple of days. Things will quickly settle down, and your teeth will return to the same level of sensitivity as before the procedure.

A: Tooth whitening is successful in about 90 percent of situations, although certain stains or issues may not respond well to the teeth whitening procedure. As a general rule of thumb, yellow stains are the most responsive to the treatment, for those with brownish colored teeth, the results are not as successful. For people who were given too much fluoride as a child and as a consequence have gray stains, tooth whitening treatment is unlikely to deliver exceptional results.

A: The answer to this question will largely depend on how you look after your teeth and the food and drink that you consume. The standard answer is anywhere between 6 months and two years, but if you drink a lot of black coffee or red wine, then this will drastically reduce the length of time that the treatment will last. Essentially you play a part in determining the long-lasting success of the procedure.

A: In terms of changing the color of fillings, veneers or crowns, the answer to this question is no. However, there is a risk that the procedure could temporarily reduce the bond strength between your teeth and any composite restorations. That is why we highly recommend a discussion with your dentist prior to any treatment taking place.

A: The kinds of toothpaste which advertise tooth whitening are similar to washing powder for your clothes. They will remove any dirt or surface stains, but they will not affect the underlying color of the teeth. To continue the clothes cleaning analogy, the tooth whitening procedure is the equivalent to using bleach on your clothes. It will physically change the color of your teeth, in the same way, that bleach would change the color of your clothes.

A: When you get your teeth whitened from a Gresham teeth whitening dentist, the process consists of a thorough cleaning and polishing of the teeth, with all debris carefully removed. Your dentist will then protect your gums before applying a whitening agent to the surface of your teeth. The product will be activated and left on the teeth for several minutes before being washed off with water. Your results will vary according to the natural shade of your teeth and degree of discoloration, but it is normal for patients to experience a lightening of several shades in a single visit.

A: It is normal to experience some tooth sensitivity following a professional whitening treatment. You may be instructed to avoid consuming highly pigmented beverages for at least 24 hours to prevent the teeth from becoming stained again. Examples include tea, coffee and wine. Depending on your results and long-term teeth whitening goals, you may also be sent home from your procedure with an at-home whitening kit for later use.

After having my insurance changed I double checked with the office to make sure I was still covered and they said "yes looks like you are still covered". Come to find out that I was not fully covered under the new plan where I should of had cleanings paid for and a lower amount for fillings. After getting a bill for around $1k I called to ask why it seemed so high and they told me "looks like you are covered but still have to pay for cleanings and more then before for fillings". Asked why I was not told this and if I would have known this was the case I would have switched dentist offices. I paid it all and asked if there was anything they could do and the answer was no. Very disappointed about how I was treated and won't recommend this dentist to anyone I personally know who may be looking for a new dentist.

I search for a five star rated dentist. I found Main Street dental. I trusted Seth Monson he told me that I was a great candidate for a direct placed implant after a molar extraction. HE SET THAT RIGHT INTO MY MAXILARY SINUS. Currently I have been trying to see if he would do the right thing and cover its removal. I am pretty sure I've made him upset by trying to resolve the issue amicably. SETH STOPPED TALKING TO ME! So to fix this I have to have the implant surgically removed. I need a sinus lift and bone graft even to be able to accept an implant. We are talking nearly $4000 dollars of repair work to get to where he said I was when he seated this thing over 2 years ago. RUN AWAY IF YOU ARE PHYSICALLY ABLE!

Dr. Seth is great. I had my first experience with a dental emergency and he was responsive, encouraging, and thorough. At a time when I was scared and uncertain, he made me feel cared for.

Dr. Seth is such a great dentist! He is sweet, kind, compassionate, and professional; he is pretty funny too The rest of the staff is just as great! He is a pretty busy guy so that's kind of a bummer for us patients but he is worth the wait!

Main Street Dental is a blessing. Coming in Kate is always there to greet you with a smile on her face. She always is a joy and it helps so much if you have the dental anxiety. Sarah is so gentle when cleaning your teeth and makes sure you are comfortable at all times. Dr. Seth and Elijah... where to I begin? They are just amazing. They explain what they are doing before they do it. They always make sure you are comfortable and if you need a break its never a problem. This dental office is like a second family honestly. SIMPLY AMAZING! My husband and I feel like we hit the jackpot finding Main Street Dental! From the time you walk through the front door and meet Kate at the desk, to Dr. Seth and dental assistant Elijah, you'll understand why the word amazing might not be enough for this team. Their kindness and professionalism is above and beyond. Always making sure you are comfortable and even listening to your favorite music during your procedure You are not just a client here ...you are family! Thank you Dr. Seth and team for all you do. I've been to multiple dental offices and Main street dental has been friendly, honest and professional. My whole family goes to this dental office and my children actually want to go and we don't have to twist their arm. Ha ha. Recently I had a tooth implant and Seth had been really helpful and detailed in the process. He made sure I was comfortable and he even followed up with me the next day to make sure that I was doing okay which goes to show how much they care. I recommended this office to my family and friends and if you are looking for a dental office then I would suggest them to you as well.

We have been going to Main Street Dental for about a year and a half I believe and it has been by far the best dentist office I have been to. They're friendly and welcoming as soon as you walk through the doors. Dr. Seth is absolutely wonderful with my two kids! He's engaging, genuine and caring towards them plus great at educating them about teeth cleaning on their level. We transferred them from a pediatric dentist and I'd have to say he has been more friendly than the peds dentist was towards them. I'd highly recommend their office!

Do not use their customer contact form on the website, or at least request that you can talk to someone besides Kate. Kate not helpful and is very condescending. I tried to make an appointment and instead of confirming that she accepts my insurance like I asked her, she ignored the question and instead offered numbers for other places to receive dental care and topped it off with saying would the frustration of saying an appointment would have been available, without saying what would have been different to make that scenario happen. I don't post reviews for places I haven't even been to, but the customer service to get in was so bad and I feel disrespected and wanted to share that to prevent others from having to have negative interactions or hopefully the office staff can stop their game up.

I've been going to Main Street Dental since the early 1990s. They have always been great to work with and I feel like I'm treated like family whenever there for a visit. Main Street has handled everything from the routine to emergencies with professionalism and care. Dr. Seth and the entire Main Street Dental Team are the greatest! I highly recommend them.

Far and away the best dental practice I've ever been in. Staff is courteous, professional, and competent. Docs are very skilled and treat their patients with the utmost respect. Not sure I'd go to the dentist at all if it weren't for the good people at Main St.

We are so grateful for Dr. Seth and the team at Main Street Dental. I had intense anxiety when calling to make an appointment after avoiding the dentist for years, Kate at the front desk, was so kind and helpful. We had cleanings as a family recently, and my kids left saying how much they love the dentist!

Dr. Seth and the whole staff are the best! I always receive wonderful care, starting with Kate at the reception desk. She is great at making me feel welcome and getting me scheduled for my next appointment or explaining my treatment plan and cost. All the different hygienists I've had for regular cleanings are gentle and caring and always give me extra toothbrushes. And then there's Dr. Seth and Elijah, who take such great care in making sure everything they do is perfect and my mouth is happy when I leave. They are two of the nicest guys you could ever meet and they are also hilarious, which makes being at the dentist a much more positive experience. Thank you Main Street Dental!

I'm going to be honest - I am not a fan of going to the dentist but my wife made me an appointment so I felt I had to go. I ended up having a great experience. Kate (she runs the front office) made sure everything ran smoothly and efficiently and is extremely easy to work with. Dr. Seth is awesome and makes going to the dentist a much better experience. I was in and out quickly and will continue to make all of my future appointments with this office. I highly recommend Main Street Dental to anyone looking for a positive dental experience.
