I felt welcome and safe from the moment I walked into the door. The receptionist, or front desk manager (not sure of title) was very friendly and helpful. I arrived a few minutes before appt time to turn in medical records papers I had picked up the day before. I have never felt so at ease at dental office with out some form of sedative or goofy gas. Dr. Ana Maya Adkins was very thorough and explained each and every step as she progressed in her exam, this is what I need and she anticipated that. I give 2 thumbs up to the entire staff and my entire experience.

Hey doc I am flossing not once but TWICE a day and brushing 3 times not 1! .. 1 am impressed with myself as well haha. A dentist will tell you to floss, you know you should be because food and substance get in there. However you took the time to explain the rationale, not just do it because I say but this is why you should.

Just an FYI, not taking new patients. So don't waste your time calling or going in unless you have immediate family who are already patients. Wish they would have made this disclaimer on their website.

Don't go here without full disclosure of what they are going to do for you, how much it's going to cost, and what their treatment plan is. They are very elusive about what they're performing, and how much it will cost you. My first call to them was for a toothache. The scheduler had a dismissive tone, and had no interest in scheduling me...until she heard I was an "emergency." Then they moved me right to the front of the line. When I arrived Dr. Adkins insisted the pain I was having was due to a problem on a different tooth than I was indicating. So she cut through a bridge, and performed a root canal on a tooth below the bridge. But she wasn't there to fix the problem. Just poke a hole in my tooth. This left me having to make another appointment with an oral surgeon to finish cleaning out the tooth she cut into. Then I was left looking at several thousand dollars to fix the hole she cut into the bridge, and to repair the unnecessary root canal. When that didn't relieve the pain in my mouth she performed a root canal on the original tooth I complained about. Again, this left me facing several thousand dollars to repair the tooth. And a few days later I started getting pain in the tooth she had cut into under the bridge. They insisted I make every effort to save the tooth under the bridge without ever examining it further. They even admonished me when I recommended to just extract. I relented to try and save the tooth but when they removed the bridge they discovered a severe infection and finally recommended to extract. But Dr. Adkins couldn't perform the extraction and sent me to an oral surgeon to fix the damage they had done. Then they sent me a bill for "trying" to extract my tooth. This is just a hack shop to extract money from your wallet. They're fraudulent charges/procedures are just masqueraded by a fancy office and demeanor. They'll do just barely enough work to qualify for insurance coverage, and then "suggest" other treatments knowing full well what they're offering will not be covered by insurance. Avoid this place entirely unless you want to be corned into hidden expenses. They blame the insurance for the abundance of charges, but what they're really doing is working around the coverage and upselling their services without full disclosure. They have systematically backed me into a billing corner every time I've gone into the office. Total fraud.

When I explained that I chipped a tooth they got me in a few days later. Then, I got new insurance that was confusing and the receptionists at this office (especially LeNora) went above and beyond to help me. We got everything sorted out and on top of that they were slammed with many other issues since it's the new year. The whole time, while frustrating (because of my insurance) they were all very friendly and patient. When I got to see the dentist she was so sweet and figured out why my tooth had cracked and fixed all the problems right then and there.

Amazing and Caring Staff I drive from Williamsburg to go to this wonderful office. The staff is amazing and will go to extra lengths to make you comfortable with any procedure they do. When you walk in the door you get a smile and pleasant greeting and the caring attitude continues as you proceed to getting your teeth cleaned or a cavity filled. Dr. Maya is an amazing person and has worked with my fears to make me feel at ease no matter the situation.

Dr. Maya-Atkins and staff are the best around! Every experience my family has had here has been wonderful from cleaning, preventative care, education, and even referral to specialists for endodontics, oral surgery and orthodontics. Worth the drive! Would not trust our dental health to anyone else!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Let me start by saying I have extremely strong teeth and have never had a cavity. I entered the facility and it was well kept like the other 8 dental facilities I have visited in 4 years (my job moves me around a lot). I went back for a cleaning and x-rays. After the cleaning I was informed by the dentist, Ana Maya Adkins, that I had a cavity. I asked to see it. Her and a dental assistant pulled up the x-rays and informed me it was too small to see on an x-ray. I then asked to show me on the intraoral camera. They said it was between my teeth so I could not see it. This should have been a red flag because if they can't show me it how they see it to know it is there. I thought she must know what she is talking about because she is a dentist after all. I came in a few days later to get the cavity filled. They gave me a numbing agent which did not work. I told the dentist I could still feel everything and the numbing agent wasn't working. I was ignored. It felt an extremely hot branding iron was being shoved in my tooth as she drilled into my tooth. Over a year later the tooth is still sensitive to hot and cold. It sends waves of pain when I try to eat ice-cream or even rinse my mouth with cold water. I also have days where I avoid eating hot stuff because it hurts. I hoped the sensitivity would go away but after a year it still hasn't. I'm going to have the filling removed when I go to another dentist. This place gave me a terrible experience so I hope none of you go here and experience what I went through.
