Dr. Mahoneys passion for serving and providing for others laid the foundation for the culture at Mahoney Family Dentistry. Dr. Mahoney believes that every patient who walks through the door should be treated like family. Beyond serving patients of the practice, Dr. Mahoney is a devoted public servant. He provides free care through giving Kids a Smile and Mahoneys Free Dental Day, financially supports several local nonprofit organizations, highly encourages his staff to volunteer in the community, and volunteers regularly at Sr. Maura Brannick Health Center.
Dr. Mahoney graduated from Wabash College with a bachelors degree in Biology in 1977. He continued his education at Indiana University School of Dentistry and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in 1981. Upon graduation, Dr. Mahoney was selected for a Residency in General Dentistry at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN. Dr. Mahoney received his ICOI Fellowship in Implantology through the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. This rigorous training took Dr. Mahoney from New Jersey to Florida for the best and most current training.

Best doctor I have ever been too! 3 minutes in he knew I had EDS and I finally got a sleep study after 45 years of needing one! I would definitely recommend him to anyone! Unfortunately he doesn't accept Medicaid or Medicare! Also doesn't charge your insurance and you have to pay upfront $200! Haven't received a bill for my services either!

I was very disappointed with the treatment I got . They did procedures I did not ask for and were not aware at all of possible insurance ramifications . I will not be going back

My deep cleaning procedure was pain-free. Everything was explained and my questions were encouraged. I was "checked" on regularly. Thank you. I'll see you in a month for the next half of my cleaning!

I took my dad to see Dr Mahoney, because his former dentist was not set up well for people with disabilities. Dr Mahoney and his staff did an excellent job adapting their care to my dad's needs and treating him with dignity and respect. I was so impressed with this office that I switched my own care to them as well. Dr Mahoney is very skilled and tries to use the least invasive approach to addressing your dental needs. I never felt that I was being overcharged for anything or that anything was being done that wasn't absolutely necessary. The staff is also very good about getting you seen quickly in an emergency situation. These are good people, and they will take good care of you.

I had a different person clean my teeth, than usual. Ver rough, stabbed me several times and made my mouth bleed. I have never had this experience before and I mentioned it to the person at the front counter. I have always had a pleasant experience, but this time I did not. My mouth was extremely sore the rest of the day. The person made mention that I don't look like I floss and I do. She said she guessed that I don't floss because of how much I was bleeding and I told her I had never had the issue before, but when you are rough and continue to stab and poke someone, they are going to bleed. The girl at the front counter told me others have voiced similar issues with this hygienist.

Serious mouth pain over the weekend. Called Monday, got in Tuesday morning. Certain.this was going to cost thousands for root canal, and crown. Dr. Mahoney suggested to pull the tooth, which was in back of mouth. His honesty is appreciated, and I trust his recommendations. They also give several options for payments. Highly recommend!

My daughter needed a consultation regarding a Frenectomy as we were experiencing difficulties regarding breastfeeding. I called and was able to get an appointment SAME DAY! The staff was very caring and incredibly sweet. They also performed the Frenectomy for her lip/tongue tie the same day. The procedure was quick and the staff walked us through the care instructions. The hygienist also used pictures to explain the issues my daughter was experiencing and explained what she could possibly experience in the future without the revision. The following day they even called to check on my sweet girl. We are very grateful for our positive experience!
