Mahomet Family Dentistry has served the Mahomet area with excellent oral care for more than 15 years. Our family-friendly team looks forward to seeing patients twice a year as we help each patient achieve a healthy smile through routine check-ups and cleanings, restorative work, Invisalign Clear Aligners Treatments or teeth whitening.
During your first visit, we will review your dental and medical history forms, and take X-rays of your teeth and mouth. Then, the doctor will meet with you to discuss your X-rays, help you create your own individual treatment plan, and answer any questions that you may have. At your next visit, one of our hygienists will clean and polish your teeth, checking your teeth and gums for any cavities or early signs of tooth decay or gingivitis.

Terri came to Mahomet Family Dentistry in 2016 after working for 30 years as an office manager in a dental and orthodontic office. Terri has loved working in dentistry because she enjoys the time she gets to spend with the patients and the friendships she makes with her colleagues. Over the years, Terri has also enjoyed seeing how dentistry helps to improve patients smiles and health. In her free time, Terri enjoys gardening, swimming and spending time with her grandchildren.
With three daughters, two in college and one still at home, Amy spends most of her free time supporting and encouraging her daughter, Bailey, as she participates in activities. An avid Cubs fan, Amy also loves spending time with her husband and friends, especially when it involves watching sports.
Working in the dental field since 2011, Laura found her home at Mahomet Family Dentistry in 2013. Laura really enjoys the team atmosphere at Mahomet Family Dentistry, where the employees support and work well together. She also enjoys spending time with a variety of patients every day as she helps them realize healthy and eye-catching smiles.
With a focus on helping patients prevent tooth decay with daily and routine cleaning alongside a healthy diet, Shannon has been helping dental patients since 1998. Shannon also worked for an endodontist and in a periodontal office while completing a dental sealant program before joining Mahomet Family Dentistry in 2015.
Shannon married her high school sweetheart; now, the couple is raising their two daughters, Madisyn and Grace. They have a crazy, wild dog named Sampson, who always keeps the family on their toes! Together, they enjoy the outdoors, camping, and boating.
Mahomet native Dr. Nezar Kassem returned to his hometown to open Mahomet Family Dentistry in 2002 after graduating from Western Illinois University in 1995 and the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1999.
Dr. Kassem provides comprehensive treatment plans for patients of all ages, while also using the latest technologies for restorative and cosmetic dental procedures, so patients can achieve excellent oral health. It is also important to Dr. Kassem that each patient is educated on proper routine oral-care techniques and that any concerns are promptly addressedhe and his staff take pride in spending ample time with each patient. He also enjoys talking to patients over the years, learning about their interests and family. Dr. Kassems staff has become an extension of his family as the practice has grown in the last 15 years.
When he is not working, Dr. Kassem enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He has also served on the Mahomet-Seymour School Board since 2016 and is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Illini District Dental Society, and the Mahomet Chamber of Commerce.

The staff was very friendly. Shannon the hygienist did an excellent job examining and cleaning my teeth, explaining to me everything she was doing in patient-friendly lingo. I waited a while to see the dentist, but he took his time examining my teeth and talking to me about the health of my teeth. He was also very kind. I would rather wait for a dentist who takes his time with each patient than see a dentist who rushes through appointments so much so they don't even sit down. I'm very pleased with Mahomet Family Dentistry and look forward to receiving dental care here in the future.

I cannot say enough great things about this place! We found out our dentist was retiring last year and had such a hard time finding a good replacement. I am so happy we found Mahomet Family Dentistry! My daughter had a huge meltdown right when we arrived and literally the entire team came to her aide in attempting to cheer her up. Laura is not only the most gentle hygienist, she is also friendly, great with kids and knowledgeable without being condescending. Even my 9 year old said how nice she was! It was refreshing that no cosmetic dentistry was pushed or even suggested, as so many dental professionals do now. I truly appreciated this. Highly recommend this office for all of your family's dental needs.

I cannot give 5 stars because we did not get to be physically seen. However, our 4 year old fell and ended up with a dental emergency, and no established dentist. We called the emergency number and despite being busy, Dr. Kassem messaged us back, looked at the picture we had to decide if she needed immediate care or might be able to wait, and gave a recommendation for another local dentist. We appreciate his time and willingness to help even though our daughter wasn't already a patient.

Dr. Kassem and his staff provide excellent service in an efficient yet calm and friendly manner. The doctor thoroughly discusses the Plan of Care and offers options. Paperwork for the visit is completed on line to save office visit time. Covid precautions are in place and followed carefully. Dr. Kassem takes care to monitor his patient's level of understanding as well as comfort. Billing is handled in a polite and efficient manner. Remindes of upcoming visits timely and most helpful. I would highly recommend Dr. Kassem as he is most professional, personable and gentle. Plus he has a great team of wonderful helpers.

Really great team. I've taken my 4 year old there and they were excellent with her. I've also gone there and I found them to be the perfect balance of direct and compassionate. In that they can be direct in telling me how to improve my oral health and things I should be doing but also communicate it in a kind and caring way. Another random thing that has always bothered me at other places, but they don't talk to you while they are in your mouth, so when they talk with you they take their tools out of your mouth and give you time to respond.

My visit to Mahomet Family Dentistry was pleasant, professional, safe, and informative. The staff all followed proper Covid precautions. Melissa, my hygienist, did an excellent job, and was was very positive to talk to. Dr Kassem did an excellent job walking through and speaking in easy to understand terms about my exam. I would suggest to anyone in the area to use this office.
