As a 1981 graduate ofNew York Universitys College of Dentistry, Dr. Mahan began his career with the US Navy Dental Corps. After 4 years of active duty, Dr. Mahan established his private dental practice at the Jersey shore in two locations: Toms River and Ship Bottom on Long Beach Island.
Both locations allow him to perform the highest quality comprehensive dental care including implants, root canals, porcelain veneers, cosmetic dentistry including tooth colored fillings, crowns, tooth whitening, Invisalign orthodontics, bridges, Snap On Smile, Perio Protect,and StemSave, as well as preventive periodontal care.
Dr. Mahan has just completed 26 years of active and reserve service with the US Navy Dental Corps and now enjoys his hobbies of boating, kayaking, skiing and sailing. Dr. Mahan resides in Toms River with his family and is a member of theOCYMCA, and is the Past-President of the Toms River Sunrise Rotary.

Be careful of high over charges for work not needed & improper work performed requiring oral surgeon to correct the dentist's work. If you need root canal, find a specialist.

Dr. Mahan and his entire staff actually deserve MORE than five stars, if that would be possible. I had just come down to LBI for a several week vacation, when I was afflicted with sudden tooth pain. Dr. Mahan and his staff allowed me to come into their office immediately, and resolved my dental issue with more care and professionalism than any dentist I've ever had the "pleasure" of seeing throughout my life (and I am in my 60's, with teeth issues my entire life, and have been to MANY, MANY dentists). He did an awesome job, and explained what he would be doing with my mouth, every step of the way. And his staff did as well, in as friendly and courteous manner as possible. I am even contemplating having Dr. Mahan become my regular dentist, even though it would mean me driving all the way from Exit 165 on the Garden State Parkway, down to LBI. But to be able to receive stellar service, it would be worth it. I want to thank Dr. Mahan and his entire staff once again for saving my vacation!!!
