Dr. Ben Magleby grew up in Portland, Oregon. Ever since he was a little boy, he has always loved art and how it can be used to communicate with others. After completing a bachelors degree in visual arts at Brigham Young University he graduated from University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Fransisco.

While he was in college and dental school, Dr. Ben illustrated guidebooks, teaching materials and short animations to help others understand science and dentistry. He also wrote and illustrated Sugarbug Doug, a storybook to help teach dental disease prevention to children. A few years later, he finished Dr. Bens Dental Guide, a guidebook focused on explaining dental treatment to adults.

Following dental school, Dr. Ben served as a dentist in the US Navy. In addition to spending an additional year of training in the military Advanced Education in General Dentistry program, he also completed a tour in Fallujah, Iraq treating dental emergencies. Upon finishing his military service, Dr. Ben moved back to California and practiced general dentistry in Fresno before starting his own family practice in Clovis.

Dr. Ben and his wife love living in the central valley with their three boys. He loves taking his kids jogging and has run a few marathons. He also likes to visit elementary schools and teach kids about teeth, cavities and sugarbugs.

Amazing customer services! I went in for a mouth guard, and wasn't sure what to expect. Dr. Ben and staff walked me through each step and went above and beyond my expectations to make me feel comfortable. I would highly recommend Dr. Ben for any service needed.

Zero wait time, I arrived 30 minutes early, and they brought me in immediately. In and out in less than an hour. The staff was very friendly, professional, and the facility was spotless. Dr. Ben is easy to talk to and very down to earth. Megan the hygienist was outstanding, highly skilled, and knowledgeable. I will definitely keep going here in the future.

Perfect in every way except one huge blight.... while being examined by Dr. Ben, his face being one foot from mine... he allowed his mask to fall beneath his nose and then at one point removed it! I felt completely EXPOSED. Please Dr. Ben, get a good quality mask so you don't have to fiddle with it, then keep it ON and above your nose. :)

Honestly I don't understand the reviews on here. This place is severely OVERRATED. I'm guessing that most of the reviews on here have been bought by the doctors marketing team. Shameful. Anyways I had an appointment here and decided I should hold off on my review for awhile till everything was thoroughly completed. Well it's been 3-4 months now and I can comment and review on the entire process. I had 2 separate appointments at this location. The first one was for a x-ray, cleaning and all the in an outs of a first visit appointment. I was under the impression that i would have more face time with Dr.Magleby when I talked to the girls at desk prior to my appointment over the phone. Boy was I wrong, he spent less than 5 minutes near me and his bedside manner was terrible, he seemed to not care or have any interest in answering my questions, he spoke in such a hushed tone I had to ask him to repeat what he said multiple times, he was awkward and unhelpful during the entire exchange. His assistant did everything, she was wonderful, I would give her a 4 out of 5 for everything she worked on because she took her time. Albeit they didn't have enough "time" during my regular scheduled appointment so they had me come in at a later hour in the pm which was an unbecoming inconvenience to me. In the less than 5 minutes Dr. Magleby spent by me he looked around in my mouth and claimed that I had a cavity, when I asked for him to show me where or if he could point out the area on the X-ray he said it wouldn't show up on the X-ray. I should note I practice excellent dental hygiene and have not had a cavity since I was a child! So I wanted more details on this cavity, I assumed it was to small to show up on the xray and asked for them to show me another way, to which magleby just went on about using flouride over and over instead of actually showing me where the cavity was. I'm well aware of dentist making false claims on people's teeth in order to make more money that way, and I've had that happen to a relative of mine at a different practice. Although I assumed with magleby's current ratings that at his practice it is unlikely I'm not so sure anymore. Because I went to 2 other reputable locations in the weeks following to see if I actually have a cavity in the location he noted on the paper which I didn't get until after my first appointment. At both places they said they didn't see an notable cavity. Also side note, appointments at magleby's for a simple cavity filling is booked 3 months out! Im suspecting they just wanted a return customer so they made up the nonsense about a cavity. I called and cancelled the 2nd appointment which was intended for the cavity filling at magleby's after th 1st month of booking. And guess what, one month after that appointment date, they have the nerve to send me a late fee bill! Really?? I mean really? It's insane to see they're that money hungry. Disgusting ethics in my perspective. I would have went back in the future just for cleanings because I actually somewhat approve of the work his assistant did. But the actual practice is just a darn shame. Also I was paying out of pocket, not via insurance or anything like that, most happy 5 star reviews tend to be from people that are hooked up via insurance, since it's less or none of a hit on there own hard earned dollars I assume. There online forms fill out page is also weird, it times out after a certain amount of time and you have to refill and again and again. And when you go into there office and somehow those forms are incomplete or missing they will have u sit at one of there computers to finish your forms and waste your own appointment time. Bring glasses as it's hard to see on there computer screen. There are no paper forms here. The girl at the desk kept getting confused and I had to remind her on 6 different occasions that I'm not paying with insurance. I would give this practice and the doctor 0 stars if I could!! I would go more into detail on all the issues but there is a character limit here. Find a better place.

My family loves Dr. Ben's Family Dentistry!! I am almost 40 years old and have been enduring the social pain of wearing a partial since I was 18. At social gatherings and when going out to eat I would have to sneak my retainer with teeth out of my mouth anytime I wanted to take a bite of something. This was very embarrassing. Dr. Ben understood my pain and fixed my teeth so I no longer have to go through these embarrassing moments. This has increased my confidence, taken away my pain, and made me feel happier in life. Thank you Dr. Ben and staff I appreciate you very much.

Great office. Dr Ben and his staff (Linzie McKinney) are great with kids and adults. They are efficient, clean, and nice. I highly recommend them. My sons memory of the dentist was getting a token to use in their lobby to "buy" a toy. He has not anxiety going to the dentist!

I can't say enough about this place. I've been bringing my daughter here since she was 3. She is 6 now. She LOVES going to her dentist every6 months. Everyone is so kind, great with kids, and they do excellent work. Seriously, A- team! I recently started going myself, and I couldn't be more pleased. My hygienist, Katie, was extremely kind, patient, and thorough. You can tell everyone takes alot of pride in their work. Dr. Ben is fantastic and has only the best working with him. They have an awesome in-house plan for pricing as well. They do not do not up-sell. They do what is needed, and only what you (the patient)approve. We love Dr Ben's office. Thank you guys!

Went to my 10am appointment at 9:55 and was immediately seated in a chair and numbed for deep cleaning and extractions. Halfway through the cleaning Dr Ben came in and pulled 2 teeth within 5 minutes. And then they finished the cleaning. I was done and out of there at 10:50 am. No pain and What a GREAT STAFF!! All are sooo friendly and professional!! Thank you all!!!

Dr. Ben's office is always warm and welcoming. Good music, chocolate chip cookies waiting. And I love the TV screens above the chairs so you can relax and watch something. This morning, I opted for a fireplace screen saver and it was so peaceful! :) The staff is consistently positive and encouraging and they make a trip to the dentist so easy!
