I am a board-certified orthodontist with more than 30 years of experience. I received my Bachelors degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1970. While still in the US Army, I graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School in San Antonio in 1977 and received my orthodontic degree from the University of Missouri in Kansas City in 1981.
After serving nine years as a military orthodontist in Germany, Texas, and Alaska, I brought my family to Oregon in 1990 where I began the private practice of orthodontics in Portland and Scappoose. I opened an additional office in Beaverton in 1999.
I belong to the Tri-county Orthodontic Study Club, a group of orthodontists committed to staying current on the latest orthodontic techniques, materials, and research. Technology and orthodontic materials have improved so much in the last ten years that orthodontics is more exciting than ever.
I am not a native Oregonian, as I was born in New Orleans, LA in a military family and grew up all over the world. I went to twelve schools (which may explain my warped personality) in Japan, New York, Georgia, North Carolina, Louisiana, Germany, and Kansas before I finished high school. Then I joined the Army and headed off to West Point. While at West Point, I met my wife, Marge, on a blind date in El Paso, TX. Weve been married for over forty years, but whos counting? We have four grown children: Jason, Michael, Kenny, and Suzanne.
Jason lives in Draper, UT with his three children, Kendal, Carter, and Addison. Michael and his wife, Shannon, just bought a farm in Hamilton, MN and are starting a new phase of their lives (from athletes to farmers) with their sons, Taylor and Boston. Kenny followed in my footsteps and graduated from West Point in 2004, but that is where our paths split. After serving for seven years as a Blackhawk pilot, with two tours in Iraq, he left the Army, received an MBA from Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University and a MPA from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. He now lives in Calgary, Canada with his wife, Ashleigh, and their two daughters, Ryleigh and Ada. Suzanne, our baby, is currently serving as an internal medicine doc at Ft. Hood, TX. She and her husband, Jake, and their two boys, Lucas and Owen, live in Georgetown, TX and are eagerly looking forward to returning to Portland soon when she gets out of the Army.
Marge and I are very proud of all of our kids, but are finding that we like our grandkids even more (all nine of them)! The unofficial word is that we will not reach double digits. In my free time, I enjoy my grandkids, golf, computers, reading, hiking with Marge, and a little fishing. I also enjoy basketball, but that means I enjoy watching it, not that I can play, as my kids frequently remind me. We have been in Portland for more than 20 years and couldnt be happier (unless our grandkids were here). The decision to move to Portland when I got out of the Army was one of the three most important decisions in my life. The other two were asking Marge to marry me and deciding to become an orthodontist. Life is good.
After having gone through orthodontic treatment in our office over 20 years ago, Damani went on to pursue an extensive career in orthodontics. So naturally, when it came time for her to settle in an office in her home town well, she came home! From the moment you meet Damani, youll know that our patients are her #1 priority hands down. She couldnt be more aligned with Dr. Doleacs old school philosophies on treating our patients like family members, shaking hands, going the extra mile, earning our patients trust and referrals, and doing whatever it takes to exceed their expectations.
Susie handles all of our financial needs, from billing and contracts, to insurance processing. She enjoys helping families create a financial plan that meets their individual needs. When not helping our practice run smoothly, Susie spends time with her husband, who she met when they were in the seventh grade! They love spending time with their daughters and their families. Susie also likes to travel, camp, and read in her spare time.
I have been married for 18 years, I have 3 boys, one dog, and a bearded dragon. I love hiking, being outdoors, baking and cooking, and crafting. I have also been doing CrossFit for the last 6 years and it is one of the best ways to lower stress and improve my mental health. I have been working for Magic Smiles since 2018, before that I was a stay at home mom for more than 12 years. I love orthodontics and have so much fun meeting new patients and getting to help them start their smile transformations.
Jordan was born and raised in Dallas, Oregon and recently found her home here in Portland. With a personality the size of Texas, and orthodontic skills to match it, we scored big when landing this catch! Having been assisting since 2014, we know Jordans clinical training combined with her eagerness to go the extra mile for our patients will leave you smiling! When not in her scrubs, you can find Jordan on an outdoor adventure at the lake, at the river or in line at her local Dutch Bros.
I have been a licensed orthodontic dental assistant for almost 20 years and during that time my passion for dentistry grew. I love orthodontics. I get great enjoyment out of helping someone achieve the smile they deserve. I have been lucky enough to work with doctors from the east coast to the west. I happen to really love the PNW and love the people here.
When not at work you can find me spending time at home with my daughter and dog. We love to explore the NW and spend copious amounts of time outside. Many nights you will find us out on our paddle boards exploring the river or walking in a dog park. On weekends we spend all the time we can with extended family members and finding a new place to explore all over Oregon and Washington.
Hi there! I was born and raised in Oregon. I am a mother to two wonderful kiddos who I absolutely adore. We enjoy spending time together, reading, taking walks with our golden doodle, and baking all the yummy things in life! I have been in the dental industry since 2009. Outside of work Amanda is slowly-but-surely building an in-home recording studio with her brother, spending time with her love-starved cat, Tyrone, and trying to get out for karaoke as much as possible!
I love all things sparkly and that includes those pearly whites! I have been fascinated with the business of orthodontics for 24ish years (I think in a past life I was an Orthodontist) the best part of my job is that I get to be a CSI Ortho agent and be solution oriented. I love helping parents figure out a way to procure Invisalign and or braces for their children that they otherwise thought was financially unattainable. Parents are heroes and I love helping them to maintain/achieve that status in their childrens eyes! I also get those same warm sparkly feelings when helping our older kids (adults) into treatment and applaud them for taking care of their self.I have three grown daughters that are in their 30ishs and four grandchildren who absolutely put the sparkle in my life. And because I want to be a hero to my grandchildren I have now made it my mission to be the coolest g-ma ever. To achieve that status I put life and limb in potential harms way by teaching them to snowboard, wakeboard, drive a wave runner (yes, its a scary thrill) and a quad (even scarier). My personal motto is: Might as well be fabulous and fearless!Come to Magic Smiles and meet me, cuz a girl can never get enough sparkle!
