The office of Madison Family Dental is currently undergoing a major remodeling in August. We are adding a fourth examination room, with state-of-the-art equipment to better meet the needs of our patients. We have recently added the XG3D scanner by Sirona. This will help us better diagnose pathology, and determine the exact location of nerves, sinuses, and other anatomical landpoints within microns on a 3D view.
We use dental lasers during a variety of procedures. We feel that this procedure allows us to perform different techniques more swiftly and accurately, as well as facilitate a faster recovery period than with treatments performed with traditional measures.
We have an Automated External Defibrillator in our office at all time, which is equipment that can help us recognize cardiac arrhythmias and ventricular tachycardia in our patients, both of which can be life-threatening. Madison Family Dental can swiftly care for you and even protect your life with this technology!
Each of our patients has access to televisions in our reception area and examination rooms. We also have a coffee bar for those in our care to enjoy. Just speak with a member of our team to receive any of these patient amenities.
Do you worry about dental examinations? If you have any form of dental-induced anxiety, our team may be able to help. We have two forms of sedation dentistry available for patients who need it which can help you relax and ease your troubled mind. A fear of the dentist is a common one around the world, which is why we have chosen to offer this form of patient comfort to those in our care. If you become nervous and uncomfortable once you step foot into our reception area, we can offer nitrous oxide. Also known as laughing gas, this technique involves inhaling the gas through a nose mask, which leaves your mouth free to experience our dental care. When breathed in, nitrous oxide creates an almost euphoric feeling and dissipates soon after the gas is shut off, which means that youll be able to drive yourself home.
Dr. Billy Baune was raised in Rosholt, South Dakota and graduated from Rosholt High School. He continued his education at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota, where he and received a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Baune then went on to attend the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry and graduated in 2017 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
Dr. Tobkin is very excited to be back in his home state, serving rural communities by providing high-quality care at Madison Family Dental. Hes very excited to be working with Dr. Troy Keyes. With their combined experience in the oral healthcare field, theyll be able to collaborate and discuss treatments in a way that enables them to provide outstanding results for each individual patient.
As for his educational background, Dr. Tobkin graduated high school in Veblen, SD in 1994 in fact, he was only one of three! He completed his first year of undergrad at the University of Minnesota, Morris where he played football as the quarterback and baseball (outfield). He then transferred to Eastern New Mexico University and played football before graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors with his Bachelor of Science in Biology. From there, he studied for his doctorate at the Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia and completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine with Magna Cum Laude honors in 2003. Following dental school, Dr. Tobkin pursues continuing education whenever possible, attending countless dental meetings, conventions, and seminars every single year. By always learning about the latest techniques and technologies in the field, he believes that he can provide truly outstanding treatment. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association and the South Dakota Dental Association.
Outside of Madison Family Dental, Dr. Tobkin is married to Dr. Erin Tobkin (who is also a dentist), and they have two daughters named Aubrianna and Brooklyn. Dr. Erin is very active in the practice and the overall community; Aubrianna loves softball, basketball, and volleyball, while Brooklyns favorite sport is soccer and enjoys running. As for his own personal hobbies, he loves spending quality time with his family, hunting, fishing, skeet shooting, and watching/playing sports. He is an active member in the Madison Kiwanis Club.
Dr. Tobkin is originally from Appleton, Wisconsin. With an athletic/academic scholarship to Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO, she pursued her degrees in Biology and Psychology while playing soccer. Afterwards, she continued her education at Temple University, achieving her DMD. She was awarded several awards there before graduating in 2004:
Prior to moving to Madison, Dr. Tobkin was partner in a well-established and successful office in Denver, CO. She has completed countless continuing education courses over the years, including (but not limited to) Invisalign Level 2 certification and Biolase laser therapy certification.
Dr. Tobkin is married to Dr. Matthew Tobkin (also a dentist at Madison Family Dental), and they have two daughters named Aubrianna and Brooklyn. Although most of her spare time is spent focusing on her daughters and their unique interests, she does enjoy quilting, baking, and working out when she gets a few minutes to herself.
Jennifer is currently studying business in addition to her duties at our front desk. She has been married for over 15 years and has five kiddos at home! In her spare time away from work, she likes to garden, quilt, read, and practice Olympic weightlifting.
Samantha originally hails from Ethan, where she grew up on her familys farm and earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of South Dakota. She joined our office in April of 2013. Today, her friendly chairside manner and personable nature is a great fit for our office! She appreciates the up-to-date technology here, as well as her wonderful coworkers. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her husband and two sons.
Mandy completed her Bachelor of Science from the University of South Dakota. She recently got married and spends as much time as possible with family and friends. Her other hobbies include boating, golfing, and working out!
Kim was raised in Howard, South Dakota, and earned her degree from Lake Area Technical Institute. Shes been in the profession for over twenty years, and knows that shes a perfect fit for her job because of her friendly and energetic personality. Kim is very dedicated to helping her patients improve their oral health, and has genuine concern for those in her skilled care.
Kim loves working at Madison Family Dental because she enjoys being a part of a hardworking, fun team. She likes to interact with her patients while shes treating them. As a dental assistant, Kims daily responsibilities include helping Doctor during procedures, sterilizing all instruments, preparing materials and trays, as well as taking impressions and x-rays.
When Kim isnt staying busy at the office, she enjoys passing the time with her three beautiful daughters. She likes to attend her childrens' events, camp, scrapbook, and hang out with her friends and family.
Brooke studied at Lake Area Technical Institute. At home, she is the proud to be the mom of three special kids one girl and two boys. When she isnt busy caring for teeth, her favorite hobbies include hanging out with loved ones, camping in the summer, and chasing all of her littles around!
Rachel studied dental assisting at Lake Area Technical Institute in 2018. She also completed her Dental Assisting National Board Exam in 2019. As for personal hobbies, she spends her free time running, camping, doing various activities by the lake, practicing archery, and (of course) spending quality time with family and friends.
