Dr. Julian-Hoernke grew up in the Twin Cities and moved to the Madison area during adolescence. She attended Arizona State University, where she focused on psychology and fulfilling pre-med requirements. While taking a gap year to apply to medical school, Dr. Julian-Hoernke was offered a job as a dental assistant in Madison. That opportunity sparked her love for dentistry and lead her to the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.
Upon graduating, Dr. Julian-Hoernke knew she wanted to be in a group setting rather than being a solo practitioner. She found Madison Family Dental Associates and felt that because it was owned and operated by practicing dentists, who could help grow and guide her, it was the ideal practice for her. Now that she is an owner, she extends that same level of collaboration to all of MFDAs dentists.
There is so much about dentistry that drew Dr. Julian-Hoernke in. She loves the science, artistry, fine detail work, patient and coworker interaction, as well as the work-life balance the dental field provides. She had a great dentist growing up and wanted to provide that same level of care and personal experience to others. As a general dentist, Dr. Julian-Hoernke loves the wide variety of procedures she gets to perform. Her goal is to educate her patients regarding their oral health and how it affects their overall wellbeing. More recently, Dr. Julian-Hoernke has expanded to airway centric and non-surgical orthodontics, which allows her the ability to help both kids and adults function better for a lifetime.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Julian-Hoernke stays very busy with her husband, three children, and two dogs. She enjoys gardening, swimming, biking, cross word puzzles, and attending concerts and Overture Center productions (pre-COVID). Her kids participate in many extra-curricular activities including swim team, water ballet, baseball, dance team, gymnastics, soccer, winter sports and more! One of her biggest passions is being an active supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, as one of her children has Type 1 diabetes; an ever-changing challenge that keeps her on her toes!
Prior to dental school, Dr. Wirtz practiced pediatric physical therapy for five years. Working at the UW Hospital, Dr. Wirtz realized her passion for healthcare. She discovered that dentistry offered the close patient care and work-life balance she desired. Dr. Wirtz graduated from Marquette School of Dentistry in 2005, and immediately knew she wanted to be in a group practice setting in Madison, Wisconsin. She sought out the ability to continue learning and growing from experienced dentists, and found that environment at Madison Family Dental Associates.
Dr. Wirtz is most fulfilled when a patient is able to come in with a problem and be fully treated that day. The reward of seeing her patients leave with a new, confident smile fuels her passion as a dentist. She continually seeks to build trust with her patients and feels honored to provide their dental care. Dr. Wirtz's favorite procedure is placing front crowns, as the patient can pick out the shape and color of their desired smile and she can make their vision come to life! More recently, Dr. Wirtz is expanding her orthodontic work, which provides another alternative to creating aesthetically pleasing dentition. She thrives on achieving the dream smile for her patients.
Outside of work, Dr. Wirtz is a mom of four, three girls and one boy, which keeps her very busy! As her two eldest enter their teenage years, she acknowledges that each stage of adolescence provides new adventures, rewards, and stresses. Dr. Wirtz enjoys staying active through running, and most recently, on her new Peleton!

I've been going to this location since high school. the care concern and quality work did not change when Madison Family Dental Associates took over. the thought has never entered my mind to look elsewhere for care. Everyone there is a part of afamily and they make you a part of it the minute you walk in the door.

Very professional as well as personable. Both my hygienist and dentist were efficient and worked well together. My hygienist really remembered my health struggles during the Covid shutdown and her conversation showed how much she cared.

One year later, and we still trust Madison Family Dental Associates for our dental care, their professionalism and clean offices. They have never forced us into any decision, and they don't advise unnecessary procedures that will cost me more money. Ann and Greg

Very professional. Great attention to detail. Always happy and friendly. We are very happy with their work. Andrea is WONDERFUL and goes above and beyond he duties. With Covid-19 I have felt very safe in the office just as before. I highly recommend Madison Family Dental Associates in Deforest.

I Visited this location this week for the first time. Had x-rays done and a cleaning, Ashley was awesome. So fun! I had Dr. Eric Feiereisen, He was very friendly and thorough. Megan was the Hygenist and she was so fun and thorough as well. Great service, Clean atmosphere! Will be back!

I am so impressed with the DeForest location. Moved to Madison in 2012 but cannot change my dentist. Dr. Feiresein is great. All the hygienists have been gentle and professional.

Dr. Eric Feiereisen and his team are awesome. Just moved back to Wisconsin and was a bit nervous finding a new dentist, but was immediately put at ease as I called to make an appointment. Professional and courteous. During the visit they took care and time to fully review any issues.
