Dr. Austin Wessell is passionate about providing cutting edge dentistry to patients of all ages in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. By integrating two of his passions, art and science, he aims to help his patients achieve and maintain smiles that are both beautiful and healthy.
I chose dentistry because I have always had a natural artistic ability and an interest in the sciences. Growing up with a father who is a dentist, I gained exposure to the dental profession. The more I learned about dentistry the more I realized it was the right career choice for me as it allows me to use my artistic abilities to help people. Whether it is restoring form and function, improving ones health, or enhancing the cosmetics of ones smile, dentistry is about helping our patients reach their own goals, and making them feel better about themselves.
Dr. Wessell was raised in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. After high school, he received his Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was an active member on campus and volunteered his time as the schools mascot, Bucky Badger. Upon graduation, he continued his education at the Marquette University School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree.
In order to provide his patients with the most up-to-date treatment options, Dr. Wessell routinely works to advance his expertise in dentistry by completing over 100 continuing education hours every year. He is a frequent student at the renowned Kois Center for Advanced Dental Education in Seattle. Dr. Wessell is a certified provider of Invisalign clear orthodontics, and has completed hundreds of hours of postgraduate training in Dental Implants, Cosmetics, and Minimally Invasive Dentistry.
Outside the office, Dr. Wessell enjoys the many outdoor activities that the Madison area has to offer. He likes running, golfing, cycling, UW sports, and loves spending time with friends, his wife, MacKenzie, and their golden retriever, Finley.
Tina has been handling our patients dental insurance since 2001. What Tina enjoys most about her job is getting to know the patients personally and helping them with their insurance needs. Tina looks forward to coming to work every day knowing she gets to work with such an amazing team. Outside work Tina enjoys reading, walking her two basset hounds Marley and Annabelle, and spending time with her family.
Julie started her dental career over 20 years ago, as a dental assistant. She has transitioned this knowledge to our front desk as a patient services coordinator. It is important to her that patients feel welcome and comfortable at Madison Dentistry. Julie loves getting to know the patients. She and her husband Rod enjoy spending time with family and have some pretty awesome grandchildren.
Brenda has been a dental hygienist since 2002. She enjoys getting to know her patients and seeing those relationships grow over the years. She volunteered for a year in a dental clinic in Liberia, West Africa, giving what was for many patients their very first cleaning. Outside of work, she stays busy renovating an old farmhouse and chasing after two kids, four chickens, and a dog.
Laura has been a dental assistant since 2008. She values patient comfort and building relationships. Most rewarding to her is seeing how a patients smile changes their life! Outside of work, Laura loves to watch her daughter Layla grow up and hike with their dog Gunner. She also enjoys time spent with family and friends, Wisconsin sports, hunting, being outdoors, and exploring new places!
Ashley started in dentistry as an assistant just over 10 years ago. Her favorite part of assisting is meeting new people and helping patients feel as comfortable as possible during dental procedures. Outside of work, Ashley loves to spend time with her family and friends, going out to dinner, and finding fun new places around Madison. When not at work you could also find her reading, boating, golfing or cheering on the Badgers!

Dr. Wessell is an exceptionally talented dentist who does beautiful work on my teeth. He explains what he's going to do and let's me know where he is in the process every few minutes. He asks about my comfort and if I'm experiencing any pain during the procedure. Dr. Wessell is a master in the art, craft and science of dentistry. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Wessell and all the staff are very kind and knowledgeable. I've had great experiences every time I've gone in for a cleaning or procedure, and I've never had any issues with scheduling or billing. I highly recommend Madison Dentistry for anyone in search of a Madison-area dentist.

The new clinic is wonderful. It's in a great location easy to access from University Avenue. The private patient rooms are bright and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and thoughtful.

Dr. Wessell and his team are all fantastic! Our whole family goes there and we all love them. Dr. Wessell and my hygienist, Brenda, always know what is going on with my teeth, always ask me me if I have any concerns, and have the right touch.
