Originally a native of Mahopac, NY, Dr. Utterback became interested in dentistry as a high school student while working in a dental office. With a growing passion for dentistry and serving people, she pursued a BS degree from Columbia University in dental hygiene and then her DMD from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. Afterward she completed a general practice residency at DePaul Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. She later practiced in Virginia as a contract dentist for the United States Navy serving on action teams aimed at improving care for Naval personal before entering private practice in the area. Following relocation back to New York with her family Dr. Utterback was fortunate to find Fishkill as her dental practice home.

Dr. Utterback is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Ninth District Dental Association and the Dutchess County Dental Society. She is a Fellow with the Academy of General Dentistry and an ongoing member of the Spear Education Center. Her goal is to partner with patients to promote dental and systemic heath with an emphasis on prevention and early intervention. She is devoted to continuing education, the integration of modern technology into her dental practice and delivering high quality comprehensive care in a gentle manner.

Dr. Jeffrey Blum is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia. He has practiced general dentistry since 1995 and utilizes some of the most advanced techniques available for root canal therapy-also known as endodontics. Dr. Blum is committed to the endodontic needs of his patients first and foremost and keeps them comfortable both during and after the procedure. His passion for endodontics has given Dr. Blum the kind of loyal patient following that any doctor would be proud of. Coincidentally, he was also a dental school classmate of Dr. Utterback's!

Over the years Dr. Utterback has invested weeks in the interview process to find exceptional team members for the office staff. Despite the long process it has been a very worthwhile one because in the end there was only one goal; creating a positive experience for her patients, from the initial phone call to the final follow-up. She was looking for compassionate staffers who comprehended what a visit to the dentist meant to most people. She wanted front desk staff who were friendly and helpful; and dental assistants and hygienists who were knowledgeable, gentle and passionate about dentistry. Together this team of health care providers pledges to treat everyone with professionalism, friendliness and respect and patients can be assured that there oral health care experience will be second to none.

Debbie is a recent addition to our office and a graduate of Orange County Community College. She previously worked for the office of Dr. Peter Koch until his recent retirement. Debbie feels great satisfaction helping patients achieve excellent dental health. She strives to provide optimal dental hygiene care and customize treatment based on their individual needs. In her free time Debbie runs 5K races throughout the year with her husband. She also enjoys visiting her children in Boston and Vermont.

Jackie, a native of Croton, NY is our devoted and efficient dental assistant with over 25 years experience in the field and nine years in our office. She received her x-ray certification from Tufts University and is cross trained so she can also assist patients outside the operatory as well. When home, Jackie enjoys cooking, reading, attending concerts with her husband and spending time with her wonderful extended family.

Another welcoming face at our office, Shelly began her career by becoming a Certified Dental Assistant 13 years ago after her sister, also a dental assistant, introduced her to the field. It was a perfect fit and she has enjoyed working in both private office and hospital settings assisting patients achieve beautiful smiles. A new resident of Washingtonville, NY she loves spending time with her family outdoors.

Natalie, our newest assistant and former resident of the beautiful island of Hawaii, definitely brings the aloha spirit to our office. Originally trained as a dental assistant out of high school she had continued to expand her knowledge in the dental field by working in different specialties and roles. When shes not working Natalie finds joy in her volunteer work, being in nature and spending time with friends and family.
