Mariposa, Amador, Calaveras & Tuolumne Health Board, Inc. operates multiple health care facilities in the four counties we serve. Services are available to all American Indians and their family members, as well as the general public in the community and are provided in an atmosphere that respects and supports American Indian traditions, values, and beliefs. Our clinics are specialized and allow patients to receive affordable care for most Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, Optometry, and Chiropractic needs.

The Primary Mission of the Mariposa, Amador, Calaveras & Tuolumne Health Board, Inc. is to improve the Health Status of the American Indian and Alaskan Native population. It is through a comprehensive HEALTH CARE SYSTEM, which is designed to Preserve and Promote the Traditional Well Being and Cultural Sensitivity of the Tribal Communities to whom we serve.

The Tuolumne Rural Indian Health Project (TRIHP) was established in 1969 by the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians to provide health services to Indians living at the Tuolumne Rancheria. In 1970, TRIHP participated in eight other autonomous Indian health projects and formed the California Rural Indian Health Board, Inc. (CRIHB). Soon after, it became apparent that other Indians living in surrounding areas needed access to these services as well. In 1971, Indians from neighboring Amador and Calaveras Counties petitioned the Tuolumne Tribal Council for health referral services. The Tuolumne Tribal council voted to provide health care assistance and a health worker for each county. The TRIHP was then renamed the Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne Health Board (A.C.T.). In 1972, dental care became available to Indians within the service area through a contract with a local dentist in a private practice. The following year, the Tuolumne Tribal Council, with assistance from IHS, began construction of a permanent dental clinic, which reached completion in 1974. Later that year, the American Indian Council of Mariposa county joined the program and it was officially renamed MACT (Mariposa, Amador, Calaveras Tuolumne) Health Board, Inc. MACT now has medical, dental, behavioral health, optometry, and chiropractic services available to patients in the counties of operation including American Indians and non-natives.

I really like this dental clinic. I have never been to a dentist that checked my health before working on me. I appreciate that and the people are super friendly as well as professional. I highly suggest if you need dental this is the place to go. Thank you to you all for doing a great job!!!

This office Canceled my appointment 5x havent been seen once. Claiming that I'm not a established patient. How can someone be established if you keep cancelling their appointment. I work full time with 3 kids and have to rearrange my schedule Everytime. This happens every time 30mins before I arrive.. The desk ladies are extremely rude and have zero patience. Don't waist your time and money they only want government medical patients

Zero stars wasn't an option. They increase your possibility of COVID exposure, have outdated equipment, over a month to get an appointment and won't help in a time of need.

I still after almost a week, have an extremely sore area after the hygenist pulled & twisted into my gums during a 'cleaning'. Was/is very painful.

No stars wasn't an option, this is the worst dental facility I have ever been to. They have canceled my appointments 3 times when I arrive for my appointment. They failed to tell me I had to take a covid test before getting a cleaning done but removed a wisdom tooth before during covid without making me take a covid test. They never called me or told me when I confirmed my cleaning appointment that I had to arrive early for a test. I spoke with Aussie and he didn't mention a test so I showed up for my appointment at my appointment time and they rescheduled it. The day before my rescheduled appointment they called to confirm it and I specifically asked if I could bring my 1 year old to the appointment Aussie said "yes no problem at all" I showed up for my appointment to take the covid test and the lady doing my test was awful, extremely rude and unprofessional and she stated it wasn't covered under my insurance and there would be an out of pocket charge. They again failed to tell me that when I made the appointment and when I confirmed it the day before. Then, Kristen at the front desk told me I couldn't have my daughter in the room with me because they had to use nitrous for my cleaning when a numbing shot was an option instead, I asked for the shots instead and Kristen said "it's too late for your appointment now", I arrived at 8am for the test and they didn't come out to give it to me until 8:15 and Kristen stated they needed to cancel my appointment yet again. The lady who was supposed to do my covid test told me "I'm sorry our staff isn't the best and we need new receptionist so if you know anyone let us know." Again extremely unprofessional. They know their staff sucks and fails to do their job and they think nothing of it. I will never go back to this place and anyone wanting to schedule an appointment make sure they tell you the RIGHT information before going to your appointment because clearly no one there has any idea how to do their jobs.
