Our orthodontist, Dr. Steven Mack, is honored to have you consider our practice for your orthodontic treatment. Our office has tremendous experience with all kinds of patients and are committed to providing every person who walks into our BettendorforEldridgeoffice with excellent care.
Dr. Mack has been in practice since 1997. He has lectured at the University of Iowa and at local continuing education meetings. Additionally, he is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, Davenport District Dental Society, and Spear Study Club. He has served as president of the Iowa Society of Orthodontists and the Davenport District Dental Society.
Dr. Mack received his Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State in 1991, followed by his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1995 from the University of Iowa. He then went on to receive his Masters degree as well as his Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Iowa in 1997.

When Dr. Mack is not busy creating beautiful smiles, he volunteers his time and talents with Christian Friendliness. He enjoys cheering on the Chicago Cubs, and spending time with his beautiful wife and their three children. Dr. Mack coaches his sons traveling baseball team and is a board member at his childrens school, Morning Star Academy. The family has a new puppy, named Daisy, whom they all enjoy.

Sherry has had the honor of working in orthodontics since 1978. She has been with Dr. Mack since his practice opened in 1997 and truly enjoys her work here. She loves being a part of creating a beautiful smile on each and every patient she sees!
Leann has over 30 years of orthodontic experience. She has been with Dr. Mack since October of 1997. Leann is well versed in every aspect of the office. She is a people person and enjoys working with everyone. Leann and her husband Russell have two wonderful daughters. When shes not working, Leann likes to spend time with family and friends traveling.
Michele has been with Mack Orthodontics since 1999. She is a graduate of the Black Hawk College Dental Assisting Program, and has been employed in dentistry for over 20 years. Michele enjoys welcoming new patients and the families to the practice. She also oversees marketing activities with other offices, schools, and community organizations. She loves to spend free time relaxing with her husband and children.
This week our Mack Orthodontics spotlight is on Kelly. Kelly started her career in dentistry over 25 years ago learning her craft as a dental assistant at a general dental office in Moline. She quickly moved on to specialize in the field of orthodontics where she has worked for over 20 years. Kelly is a huge blessing to Mack Orthodontics and her experience and training allow her to work in all areas of the office, including front desk, the clinic, and even the lab. In fact, if your child has had an expander or retainer, theres a good chance Kelly made it! Kelly is also a loving mother of five children, and when not at the office, Kelly and her husband, Curt, enjoy being outdoors with their dogs or spending time at their cabin in northern Iowa.
After deciding on a career in dentistry, Jennifer graduated from Scott Community Colleges dental assisting program in 2010 and started working in an orthodontic office right out of the gate. Jennifer began working at Mack Orthodontics in 2013 and has been the perfect addition to our team. She is a very conscientious orthodontic assistant who enjoys getting to know her patients as much as she enjoys helping them create a beautiful smile. She is a caring and hardworking person loved equally by her patients and teammates. Outside of work, Jennifer loves crafting and spending quality family time with her two young children at home.

Dr Mack and his team are outstanding! I highly recommend. They do a great job and while getting braces was not something my daughter was excited about, she never dreaded going, that is something to be noted! The one thing I enjoyed was the efficiency too. They stayed on schedule which as a working parent is something I was grateful for.

I just cannot say enough great things about Dr. Mack and his entire staff at Mack Orthodontics! From your very first appointment to getting your braces off the whole experience they provide their patients is top notch. Dr. Mack treats is his patients like their his own family. You really do feel like family when you're there. There's not an Orthodontist around that I would recommend over Dr. Mack and the staff at Mack Orthodontics. Thanks for all you do!

We are so happy with the professionalism and dedication Dr.Mack showed to both of our kids with their braces. Our kids were always at ease and comfortable with all work being done with the results being amazing. They are proud to smile and show off the results!

Update. We took her to Wainright Orthodontics and they had no problems working with her. She now has braces. They are also significantly less expensive. We contracted with mack orthodontics for expanders and braces for my 8 years old daughter. They reassured us that even though my daughter had a fear of the dentist and people working in her mouth that they would be able to do this. We paid over $3000 up front. On the first appointment to install the expanders she was scared, they gave her about 10 minutes and then told my wife they would need to reschedule. We tried again a few days later. They were still unsuccessful. I called and spoke with Dr. mack and was told that they would not be continuing treatment. We did not choose to discontinue treatment, Dr. Mack told us they were discontinuing treatment. When I asked about a refund I was told we would only be getting a partial refund even though they had completed none of the treatment. When I told him I would be in the next business day to discuss it he threatened to call the police if I disturbed his office.

I got braces through Dr. Mack. They were removed about 7 years ago. I wore the plastic retainers 24/7 for 6 months as prescribed. After the 6 mo. I was given a wire retainer. Within a couple of days I told Dr. Mack my teeth were moving. I continued to go into his office over the next several years with the same complaint and he'd keep adjusting my retainers. Fast forward to a couple of months ago. I now have a big space between my back two molars. I can't even put on the first plastic retainer I was given, that's how much my teeth have moved. When I went in to talk to them about it I was told I would have to get braces again with a cost of $2,500, and that's with a discount for being a previous customer. When I spoke with the new Dr. in the office about all of this I was told they don't even use the wire retainers anymore because "teeth move more with that type of retainer than with the plastic ones."-those were HIS words, admitting movement happens with the wire retainer, just as I had told them for years. So, now I have to pay them to fix a problem that was their fault in the first place! I will not go back to dr. Mack and I will never refer anyone to him again! It's obvious it's all about money! I am a middle aged woman. Insurance did NOT cover any of the cost. I wore my retainers religiously and now I'm expected to cover the cost of something that was preventable in the first place. TOTAL disappointment!! I will never return!!
