If you are apprehensive about going to the dentist... Machen John M DDS is the place to go! The staff is so friendly and they always make a point to remember and connect with you- even if you haven't seen them in 6 months. I have been coming to them for years with no issues. I would recommend them to anyone!

Great service from Dr.Machen and his staff , I took my wife there for a second opinion after another dentist told us he couldn't extract her tooth and would have to wait over an month to see an oral surgeon but thankfully on the recommendation of a friend we went to Dr. Machen for an second opinion they got her right in and was able to extract her very painful wisdom tooth right there and get her on the road to feeling better all for less than then other dentist charge to tell us he couldn't do anything. So our family from now on will use Dr. Machen and reccomend him to everyone we know!!

He has a great price. He did good on the type of numbing for my mouth for my extraction. I thought I'd have to be put to sleep due to my lack of pain tolerance but I didn't so he saved me alot of money. He made sure I was comfortable for at least 2-3 days at home after the appointment. The pain is extreme for an extra day or two after the 2-3 days, but I don't believe this has to due with the dentist, I believe it's my own body's slow healing process or maybe I have a tooth shard stuck or dry socket which he did warn me both could occur. It's been 3 1/2 weeks and my gum is still not healed and I get pain and swelling still so I'm going to make another appointment and let you know what he says. But so far I like him.

Dr. Machen and his entire staff are excellent. There is rarely any wait time, and appointments are timely as well as being able to be seen in an emergency situation. He has served my family and me well for the past 15 years----My children were as young as three when we took them to the dentist and not once did they cry or voice any fears---Some of them are now past twenty years of age and still insist upon staying with this practice---This dentist and staff are what we all look for when we need dental care---

Loved Dr. Machen! Everyone was so nice. I am nervous at the dentist and they all made me feel comfortable. Reasonable prices, too!

Made the mistake of making an appointment with a place with no reviews....Showed up exactly on time couldn't find the place because the crappy sign is falling off the door....then was told to go home they didn't have time to see me after I had waited a month to get an appointment...Rude staff and it looked like I would've got tetnus if I stayed around anyways....Way too many dentists in Kingsport to waste your time and money here...
