The mission of Macdonald Orthodontics is to provide the highest quality of orthodontics in Mesa and Gilbert in an atmosphere of caring service. In addition, it is our goal to respect our patient's time.
Our practice is a full-service orthodontic office. All orthodontic records are obtained in-office, and appliances and retainers are made by our in-house lab, allowing us to make sure our patients receive the highest quality products and treatments.
Besides creating beautiful smiles, Macdonald Orthodontics is extremely involved in the community. We spend time in local schools promoting oral hygiene and the importance of dental health, and we donate time and money to the school PTO programs to benefit the children.
Being an orthodontist has been one of the great blessings in my life. It is a profession that gives me the opportunity to change people's quality of life by improving their appearance and overall self-confidence. Every patient I treat is a new challenge with its own set of solutions that must be diagnosed and treated on a very individual basis. I believe in creating custom smiles that are as unique as my patients are.
I treat all types of malocclusions in children and adults and have received extensive training in surgical orthodontic treatment. I strongly believe in optimizing facial aesthetics as well as creating beautiful, functional smiles. Having just completed orthodontic treatment myself, you will find me to be very gentle and caring. Choosing Macdonald Orthodontics for your orthodontic needs will keep you and your family smiling confidently for a lifetime.
I grew up in Tempe, Arizona, and received my undergraduate education at Brigham Young University and Arizona State University. I then attended the University of Washington School of Dentistry in Seattle, Washington, where I graduated with honors and was inducted into the national honors fraternity of Omicron Kappa Upsilon. I earned my orthodontic specialty degree from UCLA and have published internationally in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
I continue my education through involvement in several study clubs and by attending local and national orthodontic conferences. I am committed to my pursuit of knowledge and to staying current with the best treatments available.
Finding the proper balance in life among professional activities, family, church, and hobbies is very important and the key to my happiness. Macdonald Orthodontics is very committed to being involved in the community. We take time out of our schedule to promote hygiene education in the local schools and are very active in providing necessary funds for our local public schools' extracurricular programs. We sponsor many local sports programs such as AYSO Soccer and Red Mountain Little League.
When out of the office I love to spend time with my wife, Lori, and our four boys. I enjoy traveling, surfing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, golfing, scuba diving, biking, and running. I have also competed in several triathlons and half marathons with my wife.
I love practicing orthodontics because there is such variety every day. I get to treat children and adults with a wide range of malocclusions, challenging me to find solutions for a wide variety of issues. I value each of my patients! Each and every one of them is special to my practice.
I received my undergraduate education at Brigham Young University and then attended Oregon Health & Sciences University (OHSU) School of Dentistry in Portland, Oregon, where I graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with honors. I continued my education at OHSU and received a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics. My goal is to stay informed. I stay abreast of the latest technology and techniques by attending seminars and courses annually.
I am active in both national and local dental societies and am a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and the Arizona Dental Association. I enjoy learning new techniques and innovative concepts through regular attendance at national and local continuing education courses so I can offer the most current treatments to my patients.
Besides the enjoyment I find in achieving excellent smiles for my patients, I love spending time with my wife, Ericka, our four handsome sons, Cameron, Carson, Nate, and Kevin, and our beautiful daughter, Megan. I enjoy spending my remaining free time in the great outdoors, wakeboarding, snowboarding, mountain biking, and golfing. I am also active in my community and church.
