Our comfortable and modern dental office contains many simple details that take our patients experiences from excellent to outstanding. We always want your familys visits to be very productive and pleasant at the same time. Our amenities include:

Our office is equipped with digital radiography, which captures and saves accurate digital images of your teeth and mouth instantly. Digital X-rays are much faster and safer for our patients than traditional X-rays, emitting up to 90% less radiation.

Digital Panoramic X-rays show a broad view of the jaws, teeth, sinuses, nasal area, and temporomandibular (jaw) joints. These X-rays do not find cavities. They show problems such as impacted teeth, bone abnormalities, cysts, solid growths (tumors), infections, and fractures.

Cone beam computerized tomography (CBCT) shows the bodys interior structures as a three-dimensional image. CT scans are used in dentistry to evaluate the jawbone for dental implant placement and difficult tooth extractions to avoid possible complications during and after surgical procedures.

Intraoral cameras are a useful diagnostic and patient education tool. Through the use of the camera, we can show you digital pictures of your teeth and gums. These pictures not only enable us to identify problem areas like a cracked tooth or a broken filling, but we can visually guide you through your diagnosis and treatment options.

The following information applies when grafting material has been placed into extraction sites to help preserve your jawbone in preparation for possible implant replacement of the extracted tooth. Your bone graft is made up of many particles. You may find some small granules in your mouth for the first several days. Do not be alarmed by these. It is normal to have some of them come out of the graft site and into your mouth. There are some things you could do to minimize the amount of material that becomes dislodged:

If a partial denture or a flipper has been placed in your mouth, we will need to see you for a follow up visit to make adjustments and go over how to remove and replace it appropriately. DO NOT TAKE YOUR FLIPPER/DENTURE OUT THE DAY OF TOOTH REMOVAL AND BONE GRAFT. Your flipper/denture will promote clotting and decrease the initial flow of blood. Slight bleeding can last up to 2 to 3 days. Please keep the flipper/denture in until we instruct you to remove it. Sleep with the flipper/denture in your mouth for one week unless otherwise instructed.

  • The filling is fully set and ready to eat on when you leave the office. Please be careful eating until the anesthetic wears off, usually within a few hours, so that you do not bite your lips, cheeks, or tongue.
  • Children should be observed until the anesthetic wears off. Due to the strange feeling of the anesthetic, many children will chew the inside of their lips, cheeks, or tongue which can cause serious damage.
  • The finished restoration may be contoured slightly different and have a different texture than the original tooth. Your tongue usually magnifies this small difference, but you will become accustomed to this in a few days.
  • Fillings do not last forever. They can wear and break down over time. Proper brushing and flossing is recommended to help you retain your fillings. Having your teeth cleaned every six months and an exam and x-rays every year will help prolong the life of your fillings.

  • It is normal for the gum around the tooth to be tender for a day or two. If the tenderness persists any longer than two days, please call the office so that we can check the temporary restoration and make any needed adjustments.
  • Carefully clean around the restoration with a toothbrush and floss every day. When you do floss, pull the floss carefully out the side to avoid pulling the restoration off. In certain cases, we may advise you not to floss the area until your final restoration is delivered.
  • Instructions on how to replace temporary crown if it comes off and you are unable to get into our office immediately:Using a cotton swab, clean and dry the inside of the crown out very well. Be sure to evaluate the crown on how to place it back on the tooth (there is a front side and back side). For the best option for temporary replacement, apply a thin coat of Fixodent (denture adhesive) to the inside of the crown with a cotton swab. Other lesser alternatives to Fixodent: vaseline or toothpaste.Using gauze or tissue, dry the tooth as much as possible; the more saliva, the less likely the crown will stay on.Replace the temporary, making sure to orient the crown correctly (front vs back side) and holding it firmly in place for a minute. Wipe off the excess with your finger. This denture adhesive will help retain the temporary until you can see us.DO NOT USE superglue to cement the temporary back on.

  • The temporary restorations are temporarily BONDED/LOCKED in place, unlike regular temporaries that are temporarily CEMENTED. Chewing right after these are placed is fine, but still needs to be done with caution.
  • Temporaries are not strong. They may break or come off. Do not bite into or chew on hard or sticky foods in the area of the temporaries. If the restoration comes off or breaks, please contact our office immediately to be scheduled for re-cementation or replacement.
  • The color of the temporaries may not resemble the color of the final restorations. They will be smoother and glazed. Also with the temporaries, they are more likely to stain with colored foods/drinks, especially coffee, tea, and red wine.
  • The shape and size of the temporaries may not resemble the final restorations. The temporaries are more than likely bridged together, which they will not be with your final restorations, unless otherwise noted by the doctor.
  • Temporaries may leak, allowing saliva or food to contact the tooth. It is less likely with these temporarily bonded ones, but not totally prevented. Sensitivity to cold, hot, or sweet is not uncommon. This sensitivity may not be present with your final restorations. If you have prolonged or severe pain, please call our office so that exact instructions for care can be given.
  • If you have a Waterpik Flosser, please perform the following as your home care maintenance in the evenings:During the first 2 WEEKS at night, you will clean between the temporaries with the following mixture in the Waterpik: 50% water and 50% hydrogen peroxide with a drop of liquid soap. For the 2-3 WEEKS prior to your cementation/bonding date, you will clean between the temporaries with the following mixture in the Waterpik: 50% Water and 50% Chlorhexidine (antibacterial rinse, will be dispensed to you) with a drop of liquid soap.

  • If you do NOT have a Waterpik Flosser, please perform the following as your home care maintenance in the evenings:Empty syringes and fluffy-end tips have been dispensed to you. Please load the syringe up with a mixture of 50% water and 50% hydrogen peroxide with a drop of liquid soap and place a tip on it. For the first 2 WEEKS at night, you will flush and gently massage around the temporaries at the gum line. Spit and rinse with water afterwards.A bottle of Chlorhexidine (antibacterial rinse) has been dispensed to you. Please load the syringe up with a mixture of 50% water and 50% chlorhexidine with a drop of liquid soap and place a tip on it. For the 2-3 WEEKS prior to your cementation/bonding date, you will clean around the temporaries in the same manner as the hydrogen peroxide mixture. Spit but no need to rinse afterwards.

  • Mild sensitivity to hot or cold foods is common. It should disappear gradually over a few days. Infrequently, sensitivity can last for a few weeks, but if it persists longer or worsens over time, please call the office.
  • Different factors will affect the stable, secure fit of your appliance. Over time, the bone and soft tissue that supports your appliance may change, causing it to become loose. Once teeth are lost, the bone that once supported teeth naturally diminishes. While this process is generally slow, it does vary from person to person. Weight gain or loss may also change the fit of your appliance. A loose, ill-fitting appliance can generally be made snug again by a simple procedure called a soft reline. A soft reline is temporarily placed to create a cushion for the space now present from the loss of bone and soft tissue. The laboratory hard reline, which is more permanent, requires the taking of a new impression of the mouth so that the appliance fits the mouth as it is now and not as it was. In this way, any spaces that formed under the appliance due to the shrinkage of bone and soft tissue will be filled, resulting in a snug, more comfortable fit. This hard reline is generally recommended 6-9 months after extractions and/or every 3-4 years, or as needed.

You can seriously damage your appliance and cause harm to your mouth by improperly adjusting or repairing it yourself. Glue, whether regular or superglue, sold over the counter often contains harmful chemicals and once improperly repaired, the appliance can be much more difficult to correct. Always have your appliance repairs and adjustments performed by a trained professional.

The supporting bone and tissues in your mouth need regular rest from denture/partial wearing. Therefore, it is important that you take your appliance out at least once a day for at least 30 minutes to an hour. The best place to store them is in a water-filled plastic container. This procedure will prevent your appliance from drying out, which can adversely affect their fit. Also during this time, you may soak the appliance in Efferdent or related products to help clean them better. Dentures are very delicate and may break if dropped even a few inches. Handling dentures over a folded towel or a sink full of water will help prevent breaks from occurring when dropped. When not wearing the appliance, store it away from children and pets. Our office suggests that the appliance be worn while you sleep to decrease the soreness that may be present in the morning after having not worn them overnight.

Keeping your appliance clean is essential in maintaining good oral health. Removable appliances, like natural teeth, attract plaque, become stained from smoking and food dyes, and collect food particles that can cause bad breath. Soaking and brushing are ways to keep them clean.

  • SOAKING Placing your appliance in a water bath with an effervescent tablet will help loosen food particles and plaque from crevices and spaces between the teeth. This will also help remove bacteria and odor causing film, resulting in a fresh feel. Use as directed on package.
  • BRUSHING While soaking is a good way of loosening particles, brushing is very important, since stubborn particles must often be physically removed. Daily brushing of your appliance is just as important as daily brushing of natural teeth in order to maintain a bright and healthy smile. Brush and clean your denture at least twice a day, in the morning when you wake and in the evening before bedtime. It is also important to rinse your mouth with an ALCOHOL-FREE mouthwash and gently brush the soft gum tissue of your mouth that supports the appliance as well as the tongue. A soft toothbrush should be used. This stimulates blood flow in the tissues, keeps the gum tissue clean and removes bacteria that tend to build up in the crevices of the tongue. NOTE: If you have a partial denture, it is very important to maintain the overall health of your remaining teeth, as these teeth help hold the appliance in place. Regular brushing twice a day, as well as regular dental cleanings with your dentist, will help in the maintenance of these teeth.
  • Your new removable appliance will often feel large. You may even experience a gag reaction to the fullness of the appliance, particularly in the back of your mouth. This is a normal first reaction. Be patient. In time, with a little practice, you will adjust naturally to this initial feel of fullness. Wear the new appliance as much as possible, even if it feels sore or loose. If adjustments are needed, Dr. Holleman and her dental team will have the advantage of seeing how they have affected your soft tissues. Sore spots will be more identifiable and easily corrected.

Your new removable appliance may cause an increase in saliva flow. This is normal. For the first few days of wearing it, you should expect to swallow more frequently. In a few days, your saliva flow will adjust.

Wearing a new appliance (even for the patient who has worn these appliances before) will often result in altered speech. A common problem is pronouncing words containing s sounds. In most cases, practicing speech aloud with your new appliance in place will help restore your normal speaking quality. One of the best practice methods is to read aloud from a book or magazine in front of a mirror to get used to the new speaking position of your tongue and new teeth. This will add confidence and comfort. Another good habit is to bite and swallow prior to speaking to set the dentures/partials in position, which enhances fit and speech.

False teeth simply do not perform in the same manner as natural teeth. While natural teeth are anchored in bone via large roots, denture/partial teeth are placed in an acrylic base that sits on top of the soft tissue of the mouth. People with natural teeth can bite on one side at a time or tear food by using their front teeth. Denture wearers, in comparison, must take smaller bites and learn to chew on both sides at the same time, maintaining their dentures in balance so as not to dislodge the dentures while eating. Patience and practice will help to accomplish this. Partial dentures, although still false teeth, have more stability than full dentures when chewing, as they generally anchor off of the natural teeth.

  • Your immediate denture and/or partial has been inserted after extracting some or all of your teeth. DO NOT REMOVE YOUR APPLIANCE FROM YOUR MOUTH FOR THE FIRST 24 HOURS. After teeth extractions, the surgery sites will swell slightly so you might not be able to re-insert the appliance for several days if removed for more than even a few minutes. The appliance at this stage acts as a bandage in helping the surgery site clot and heal.
  • The site where your teeth were extracted will have a healing socket and will gradually fill in and shrink as you continue to heal. As your gums and bone shrink, a space develops between your gums and appliance, causing them to become loose. Therefore they will need to be relined to fill this space. Additional information on these relines as well as what to expect are outlined below.
  • Moderate discomfort and swelling may occur with most oral surgery procedures. The symptoms begin within the first 12 hours following the surgery, and start to decrease after 48 hours. The amount of discomfort and swelling is unpredictable. It is important to take care of your surgery site, so please follow these instructions:

  • For at least the first 72 hours, DO NOT Smoke, Drink through a straw, Drink alcohol, carbonated beverages (pop), or hot liquids, Blow through your nose, Rinse vigorously, or Spit excessively. Any of these things may cause the blood clots to dislodge from the sockets causing a dry socket and resulting in unnecessary pain.
  • Suggested pain management regimen, as long as there are no known allergies: Alternate between Ibuprofen (Advil) 400-600 mg and Acetaminophen (Tylenol) 650 mg every 4 hours as needed for mild-moderate pain
  • SockIt! Information and Instructions (if dispensed)SockIt! is an all-natural, drug-free wound dressing designed to be used after anything from extractions and implants to grafts and hygiene procedures. It provides drug-free pain relief, protects from contamination, and promotes optimal healing. SockIt! is made of all-natural ingredients: water, mannose polysaccharides, xylitol, and oils of cinnamon, clove and thyme.Start using SockIt! the day of your procedure (your doctor has already placed some initially following the procedure). Apply as often as need for pain relief, but at least 4 times each day until the syringe is empty (usually 2-3 days) for optimal healing.Unscrew the cap from the syringe. Screw the curved tip on for ease of application. The plunger may stick at times, so pull back on the plunger just enough to unstick it. This will help prevent waste. Apply enough gel to just cover the affected area, right below the tissue level.Remove the curved tip after each use and rinse with warm water. Reapply the white cap. Store at room temperature. May be refrigerated, but do not freeze.Use SockIt! first before resorting to prescription narcotics, as the need for prescription medication is usually significantly reduced with use of SockIt!SockIt! contains no drugs, is non-toxic, and is safe when swallowed. There are no medical, pharmacological, or age restrictions associated with SockIt!

  • Directions for use: Apply a pea-sized amount on a cotton swab to the treated area on your upper and lower gums. Allow the gel to dissolve and expectorate (spit out) excess. Do not swallow. Should any irritation occur in the mouth upon application, discontinue use and contact our office. AO ProVantage is designed to be applied twice daily. Suggested applications are morning and evening after brushing teeth. After applying AO ProVantage, do not eat or drink for 30 minutes to allow gel maximum time on soft oral tissue.
  • Gently brush and floss the treated area for a few days, at least twice a day. Then resume normal brushing in a week or when the soreness has diminished. Be gentle and clean thoroughly. Slight bleeding may occur while brushing as the tissues begin to heal. As the gums heal, they will appear more pink, less swollen, and will bleed less when you floss.
  • You have just completed the first step of your implant treatment. If you look inside your mouth, you may be able to see the healing collar of the implant. The implant does require a clean environment in order to heal properly. In that regard, much of the success of this implant will depend on you. Proper care of your mouth will aid in the healing process and reduce the possibility of complications.

  • Following the procedure, you may find it advisable to take it easy for a day or two. Usually the fewer implants placed, the sooner you will feel comfortable returning to normal activities. Jogging and vigorous activities should be avoided for a few days.
  • You may experience some swelling after the procedure. Ice packs will keep swelling and/or bruising to a minimum. Apply ice to your face on a 15 minute on a 15 minute off cycle for the remainder of the day if possible. If swelling persists after 48 hours, apply a warm moist towel.
  • You may have some discomfort after the procedure. The amount of this discomfort depends on a number of factors including the number of implants placed and where they were placed. Over the counter anti-inflammatory medicines (Advil, Aleve or Ibuprofen) are often helpful in controlling this. Your doctor will also prescribe a stronger pain medication. You do not have to take or finish this.
  • You will have already been prescribed an antibiotic that should have been started the day before surgery, to aid in the healing of the implant. Unlike the pain medication, it is important that you finish this medication as prescribed unless otherwise directed.
  • Do not attempt to floss, brush or use your Waterpik in the area of surgery for the first two weeks. Following the healing period, you will be instructed on further cleaning techniques. The rest of your mouth should continue to be cleaned as usual.
  • Your doctor will decide when dentures or partial dentures may be worn after surgery, but they must be worn only with caution. Remember, no undue pressure should be applied over that implant surgical site. This can affect the success of your implant.
  • Wear your aligners 22 hours per day. Take them out to eat, brush and floss only. When aligners are not in the mouth, they are not working, so treatment is not progressing! If periods of time pass and aligners are not in the mouth, small increments of relapse can occur which will greatly affect treatment responses and time.
  • Attachments are made of clear composite material and are placed on the teeth to help the aligners express certain movements. It is very important that the bumps or attachments on the teeth engage into the corresponding bubbles in the Aligner.
  • After 2 weeks, change to your next set of aligners. Reduced pressure does not indicate that movements are not occurring. Changing aligners at night allows for easier removal in the morning and lessens any discomfort. If you have any sharp edges on an aligner, you may use an emery board to smooth it.
  • Impressions may be necessary during or at the end of treatment. It is not an indication of something wrong, but simply the doctors way of making adjustments in the treatment. This is called Refinement.
  • You can clean your aligners with your toothbrush and toothpaste or an electric toothbrush. Invisalign sells Aligner Cleaning Crystals (www.invisalign.com). You can also use a denture foam. Do not use denture cleaner that has any colored mouthwash in it. The aligners tend to absorb the color. Do not soak them in colored mouthwash.
  • To protect the tooth and help keep your temporary in place:Avoid chewing sticky foods (especially gum).Avoid biting hard foods and hard substances, such as ice, fingernails and pencils. If possible, chew only on the opposite side of your mouth.
  • It is normal to experience some discomfort for several days after root canal therapy, especially when chewing. It is not uncommon for a tooth to be uncomfortable or even exhibit a dull ache immediately after receiving root canal therapy. This should subside within a few days (or even weeks). Even if you were not experiencing any discomfort prior to treatment, it is normal for you to experience some degree of discomfort for a few days after. The tenderness is normal and is no cause for alarm.
  • To control discomfort, take pain medication as recommended by your dentist. If antibiotics are prescribed, continue to take them for the indicated length of time, even if all symptoms and signs of infection are gone.
  • To further reduce pain and swelling, rinse three times a day for the next few days with warm salt water; dissolve a teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water, then rinse, swish, and spit. It is important to continue to brush and floss normally.
  • Usually, the last step after root canal therapy is the placement of a crown on the tooth. A crown covers and protects the tooth from breaking in the future. Unless otherwise noted, it is critical to have a crown placed on your root canal therapy treated tooth as soon as possible. Delay in obtaining final restoration (crown) may result in fracture and/or possible loss of the tooth. If your bite feels uneven, you have persistent pain, or you have any other questions or concerns, please contact our office.

Very happy with Dr Holleman and her staff. Front desk, Insurance and billing, Dr's assistant and Dr Holleman. They are all so nice, so polite. They take their time, don't make you feel like just another number or dollar they are raking in and are so thorough. I don't think I've ever had a better check up. I am so impressed by everyone there so far. First impressions mean a lot to me and they have made an excellent first impression.

I am not from the Tulsa area, but if I were Dr. Holleman and Lynn Lane Family Dentistry would be my hands down #1 choice. From the moment I stepped through the door, the service was exceptionally welcoming. Kudos to staff! Then I met Dr. Holleman. What an amazing, technically skilled, caring professional she is! First I am glad to have the opportunity to tell you how great Lynn lane family dentistry is. There's so many good things to say where do I begin? My first thought was how courteous and professional they are. They are very family oriented in regards to the type of care they give to their clients. They've taken great care of my twin boys teeth along with my wife and I for several years now and wouldn't think of going elsewhere. I recently lost my job and could barely afford to pay for my family's dental work and instead of turning me away they helped me work through it with installments and never judged me by my circumstance. To have that kind of commitment to your clients is rare and should be embraced. They are also great communicators. They call for appointment reminders and call to see how your feeling after a procedure. Dr. Valerie Hollerman has a great vision for her dental practice and a great staff who you get to know on a first name basis. Dr.Hollerman,Amanda,Jodi, and the rest of the Lynn lane family, I want to thank you for making me and my family feel special!!!!! The Knowles family.

I will just start out to say that I am not the bravest when it comes to dental work. However Dr Holleman has always be exceedingly patient and understanding about calming my nerves as has all her staff. She is honest about what I need and also what I don't need to make sure I can keep my teeth. I would recommend her and her office to anyone looking for a dentist.

The BEST Dentist Experience EVER. I have not seen a dentist since before the pandemic and had to have a lot of work done. It was 100% pain free. I actually nidded off to sleep while Dr. Holleman was working on my Teeth!

Words or a review cannot really begin to explain why I am so grateful to have found Lynn Lane Family Dentistry, but I'm going to try and give it a shot. In years past I had a lot of bad dental experiences that caused me a great deal of anxiety and pain. I neglected going to regular checkups as a result and my teeth really suffered from it. Finally, I was at a point where I had to do something. When I contacted Lynn Lane Family Dentistry, they were very kind and got me in quickly. I met with Dr. Holleman and her team. She listened to my past experiences and managed to put my anxiety and worries to rest. They developed a plan for me that allowed me to do the work over time to accommodate my schedule and budget. Most importantly to me, they got my dental health back on track and I no longer dread going to the dentist and I no longer have pain every time I try to enjoy a bit to eat. In summation I cannot recommend Lynne Lane Family Dentistry enough! The whole staff is very kind and professional. Dr. Holleman was a miracle worker for me, and I'm grateful everyday for it. If you need a reliable and dedicated dentist and hygienist, this is the place for you!

Dr. Holleman's office is great. They are through, efficient and always helpful. The office staff is friendly and the waiting area is clean, quiet and super cute decor. I would recommend Dr. Holleman to my family and friends.

First and foremost I have to say I've never been to any dentist where I felt More cared about. These folks wrote the book on taking care of patients. Dental work space is always clean and the working environment friendly, which in turn makes the patient feel comfortable. Any problems which might arise with insurance are handled in-house without much trouble to patients. All of these folks are really a notch above. My hat goes off to them.
