Dr. Kavanagh is highly trained in many advanced dental procedures and stays up to date through extensive continuing education. His constant focus is on better and more effective ways to help his patients, using the most current, modern equipment and techniques.
He received his D.D.S. at the University of Washington. Dr. Kavanagh is also a military veteran having served both in the United States Air Force as a medic and also as a dentist in the Navy. Additionally, he is a member of the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of General Practice Orthodontics, Mount Baker District Dental Society and the Seattle Study Club.
Dr. Kavanagh has lived in the northwest since moving out here to attend dental school at the University of Washington in 1988. He is originally from Long Island NY, so dont be surprised if he still talks about the NY Mets and the NY Jets.
Dr. Tristan Stone and the Bellingham Smiles Team are happy youre here. As a native Washingtonian, Dr. Stone is excited to provide dental care in Whatcom County and the surrounding area. He graduated from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2012, where he was one of two students to earn a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) scholarship. In conjunction with NHSC, he worked as a dentist at a community health clinic in rural Tennessee where he gained valuable experiences. In 2016, wishing to be back in the Pacific Northwest, he began working as an associate dentist in Anacortes and Sedro Woolley. As the owner of Bellingham Smiles, Dr. Stone looks forward to helping meet the communitys oral health needs. To ensure his patients get the best care, Dr. Stone stays connected and committed to the dental profession through his membership in the Washington Academy of General Dentistry. His commitment to excellent care is evident in his continuing education where he has logged five times the minimum hours required. This ensures he stays current with advances in dentistry so that patients receive the highest level of care.
When not at the office, Dr. Stone enjoys spending time with his wife Jessica (Associate Professor, Elementary Education at WWU) and son Caleb. As a family they enjoy exploring many of the outdoor opportunities available and are particularly fond of biking at Galbraith. They recently added a puppy (Suki) to their dog pack that also includes a yellow lab (Banner) and black lab/shepherd (Oreo). Dr. Stone looks forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have about your dental needs.

Couldn't be happier at this office! I've had many dental procedures performed by Dr. Fu, and all of them have been great, as I find her work aesthetically pleasing with precision. Dr. Fu and her staff always explain every procedure clearly before starting, so I know what to expect. I used to have anxiety before going to the dentist's office, but I don't anymore because of their extra care to make me feel at ease. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Everything went excellent considering Dr Julian decided to take a ride down the mountain and injured himself So the boss came in and all went excellent Dr Dave took care of business. Got my two caps done at the same appointment. Cannot rate their practice any better than excellent from dealing with Mikel at the front desk who went to great lengths to deal with my Humana dental insurance. Lynden Smiles exactly what there name expresses.

Greeted warmly by receptionist, Lisa. The dental hygienist, Shannon, welcomed me and provided information which section to sit in and place my belongings. I kept my coat on so I was comfortable. She provided glasses and explained how she would proceed always intent on cleaning my teeth so the tartar was gone completely--very thorough. I was instructed to let her know if I was experiencing any pain. She answered all my questions and provided information so I could decide how to obtain the best care for my teeth. Very positive. Dr Braunstein was very personable and checked my teeth--lots of positive affirmations--a pleasant experience!
