The Dental World was never perfect. In 2000, the surgeon general announced that a silent epidemic of dental disease existed. Lux Dental knew then as we do now that oral disease is associated with heart disease, respiratory illness, diabetes and much more. For many in healthcare, this was no revelation; it is common sense that illness in your mouth would affect the rest of your body. 80 percent of dental disease fell upon 20% of children. The elderly and the poor had inadequate and inconsistent access to care.

In 2007, Drs. Abe Abdul, Saeed Kashefi, and Ms. Loan Huynh aspired to make a difference. With limited funding, little experience in running a practice, they gave life to Lux Dental. Lux meaning light, was to represent a beacon of hope in enlightening the cause for better oral health. They believed then, as they do now, that patients are just people seeking respect, care and empathy. That the highest standards of care along with a touch of love would heal the masses. The fight to provide care, improve care and advocate for care started in the clinics, but later extended way beyond.

For over a decade, our team has advocated the legislature. Both on Beacon Hill and Capitol Hill. We are the voice for those without a voice. We have educated the populous on oral health by partnering with community organizations. Our doctors are consistently talking about health at seminars and on media. To teach others of our vision, we have developed internships that train the next generation of doctors and healthcare professionals. Members of our team have even travelled globally to teach and serve the less fortunate. Healthcare needed a little marketing, so Luxs Mission Space brought the message of oral health to the stratosphere.

  • Q. What are the health benefits of fluoride? A. Fluoride helps prevent tooth decay. It can also reverse erosion that has already taken place. If plaque forms on the teeth and eats away at the enamel, fluoride treatments can replace the minerals in the enamel that have eroded. This allows teeth to remain healthy.

  • Q. What is an annual maximum? A. An annual maximum is the maximum dollar amount a dental benefit plan will pay toward the cost of dental care within a specific benefit period, usually a calendar year.
  • Q. What is a benefit period? A. This is the time period within which your dental benefits are calculated. This is usually based on a calendar year (January through December) unless otherwise stated in your plan.

  • Q. What is an explanation of benefits or an EOB? A. This is a document you receive from your insurance. It is not a bill, but rather an explanation of what procedures were performed and what was covered by your dental plan. Though EOBs vary from different insurance companies, they should include the dentists fee, the portion insurance paid and any amount you may owe (such as deductible, coinsurance or non-covered services). It should also include an update on how much of your annual maximum has been used and the amount youve paid toward your deductible. However, for some case, due to information incomplete or out-of-date.

I started going to this clinic a few month sago, and I've only had great experiences there. From the moment you walk in, the front desk staff is amazing at welcoming you. They are very friendly and very efficient & helpful. The entire staff is top notch. I've mainly seen Dr. Imran there and between him and the rest of the team (including LoAn), they have been excellent. Great bedside manners, and just an overall calming experience (even for a dentist visit, I know - lol). Not only are the routine visits extremely pleasant, from the moment you walk into the waiting room, Dr. Imran, LoAn, and the entire team have gone above and beyond. They genuinely have each and every patient's best interest in mind, and they certainly have our backs, no matter what. One great example is when they were able to come into the office and see not only myself, but a few other patients, on a Sunday. That's definitely unheard of anywhere else, and extremely appreciated by all of us patients there, without a doubt. I am so happy I listened to a friend when they suggested I start using this dental clinic. One of the best decisions I've ever made in terms of healthcare visits. I hope I never have to switch dentist places ever again. KUDOS to the entire LUX DENTAL team!!! :)

Went for many years to this dentist. After several problems with my teeth and many consultations for services I didnt actually need I decided to find a new dentist. They told me I had years of tartar buildup which seemed so drastic to me because I saw lux dental for the last time less than 6 months ago. I have had series concerns with the way they have handled my teeth and im very glad I switched. The xeptionists are very nice but the doctors are very rough with the teeth. Theyre also not the cleanest of places. I'd run Edit: I am seriously getting legal advise for malpractice

This dental practice is exceptional. From the front desk receptionists to the dental hygienists and the dentist. They are the best! I would highly recommend this practice to everyone. You will not regret it. I would give 10 stars if it was an option. Best experience ever!!

I've been to this dentist for 3 years and their service were always great until recently. The front desk have been difficult to reach for scheduling appointments. They will also not check if your insurance is up to date or if the services will be covered.. so beware. I've switched to another dentist this year and haven't had those problems since.

The staff at Lux were fantastic! Dental care gives me alot of anxiety and the dental hygienist that worked on me, Sarah, was so kind, understanding, and accommodating of my situation. I went for a deep cleaning on back to back days and she did an amazing job! So happy about the clean slate I have with my clean teeth. Will definitely be back

This place is a fraud. Did a dental cleaning with Dr. imran chitalwalla in Dec 2021 and received a bill for $200. This doctor spent 20 solid minutes trying to convince me for getting invisiline and 2min cleaning my teeth. I have been going to this place for 4 years and always got full coverage from my dental insurance, except this time. Called the office, they left a message for the billing department and they sent me the same bill after reviewing it. Recipient was not able to explain why an annual cleaning could charge me $200, and they won't get me to speak with the billing department directly. Avoid this dentist office! And I will never come back again.

First time here, this place is top notch! The front staff LoAn who went above and beyond to make sure I would become their new patient, she's very polite and patient, smiled all the time even though she's so busy, she also helped me make an appointment for my son, she's the best front staff I've ever met, I gave her 2 thumbs up I did an extraction that day, Dr. Chung took care of me so well, I was so scared at the beginning, but he managed to ease the tense lol he said he had 20 years experience of pulling out people's teeth, so I don't think I have to say more here lol thumbs up too Finally, the place is small, but neat and clean, no complaints. Oh, they also accept masshealth! I highly recommend this dental office to everyone! P.S. this is Jun

This was a good dentist until they cancel an appointment last minute with outtelling me. They expect you to notify them with in 48 before appointment but they can cancel any time they want with no explanation at all. What a joke of a place.

I just moved to Massachusetts and needed a great dentist. I am very stubborn and picky about my teeth. I knew I needed a crown, but was a little embarrassed. The interpersonal skills of Dr. Imran are the best I've ever experienced. He made me feel normal about crowns and the process. Also, he examined my mouth and made sure there were no other defects to my overall dental health because I didn't have my normal cleanings during covid. I left feeling like Dr. Imran cared about his patients and we weren't just a dollar sign to him.
