At Lush Family Dental, we are dedicated to serving our patients in Waukee with high-tech digital dentistry and patient-focused care. Dr. Michael Louscher is an Iowa native who grew up in the Northwest Iowa town of Emmetsburg. He attended the University of Iowa and earned his Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Finance in 1989. Shortly after graduation, he and his high school sweetheart were married and spent the next few years working in Des Moines and Minneapolis.
Dr. Blake Louscher grew up in Mason City, Iowa with his younger brother and sister, Kane and Mary Katherine. He went on to complete his Bachelors of Science at Central Michigan University while pitching on the baseball team. Following graduation, Blake decided to follow in his fathers footsteps and completed his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2019 at the University of Iowa.
Well update any necessary radiographs as needed. If you recently had some made at another office just let the team know and we can have those sent over to us. You will have a detailed examination looking for any signs of oral cancer, gum disease, or cavities. Watch as we make a 3-dimensional scan of your teeth. Were willing to bet you likely havent seen something like this before. No more of that messy impression material! Lastly, we will come up with a personalized plan tailored to fit your exact needs using the recommendations of Dr. Mike and Dr. Blake.
If you are scheduling for a child who has not had much experience with the dental office, please call our team for some tips on how to help them feel more comfortable. We are happy to have them tour the office to get their feet wet. No treatment will be done but this can help them feel more comfortable when that time comes. Dr. Blake and the entire team at Lush Family Dental are absolutely amazing! I have a real fear of going to the dentist and they always validate my feelings and they seem to make each visit not so bad. I always leave feeling much better. Definitely recommend!!

The best dental care my wife and I have ever experienced! Professional, courteous, and friendly staff made me feel like family. I have been to other dentists that exaggerated what my needs were in order to make more money. So it was a relief to find a dentist with integrity. I can't say enough about my experiences with Lush Dental! Dr. Blake and his staff are amazing, extremely friendly, and always a pleasure to work with. I have found my " Dental Home". Warm environment with all the newest technology.Staff was friendly& professional.I have seen Dr.Mike & Dr.Blake and am comfortable with both Dr's.They took the time to explain in detail varies procedures and were willing to answer any questions I had!! Broke 1/4 of my molar off eating a piece of cucumber Sunday night. Monday morning at 8:25am filled out form to be seen as an emergency. By 8:35am Molly had responded and set appointment with me for 12:30pm to be seen. Arrived and was shocked out how nice and clean and beyond professional the staff is. Not just professional, super welcoming and friendly. Saw Dr.Kate and it was great experience. Have never had a dental experience like this in my whole life. Being a new transplant to Waukee from Kirkland, Wa they have a lifetime client. Great job Lush!

This was my first time coming into Lush Family Dental. I felt right at home, the office is so cozy and the workers are so kind and welcoming. My entire experience from beginning to end was phenomenal. The patient coordinator made scheduling easy, and was warm and welcoming upon entering the office. My hygienist, Machalea, knocked it out of the park. Her personable patient care joined with her knowledge in the field topped any I've ever experienced (trust me I've had my fair share of dental work). Both Machaela and Dr. Blake educated and made recommendations on preventative care. I've never been so grateful for a transition to a new office! It's truly a family vibe in the heart of Waukee.
