As one of our general dentists and co-owner of Luminous Dental Studio, Dr. Minho Changprovides his patients with preventive, cosmetic, restorative, and emergency dentistry in Frisco, TX.Dr. Chang moved to Texas in the spring of 2014 andpracticed general dentistryin the DFW Metroplex area.He is very proud to offera variety of dental services, such as cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, periodontal treatments, orthodontics, oral surgery, and much more.
Dr. Chang is passionate about learning new techniques and advancing technologies to provide his patients with the very best dental care. His goals as a dentist are to give his patients a reasonto smile more with confidence. He also wants to provide proper dental education to his patients and his community. He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Texas Dental Association (TDA), and the North Texas Dental Society.
Dr. Chang graduated from middle and high school in Broomall, PA. He then went toPennsylvania State University to study Biotechnology (major) and Microbiology (minor). After obtaining his Bachelorof Sciencedegree, he worked at Janssen Biotech, formerly known as Centocor, as an assistant scientist before attending dental school. Dr. Chang earned his doctor of medicine in dentistry degree from the Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University, where he met Dr. Nam Kim (general dentist and co-owner of Luminous Dental Studio).
Dr. Chang was born in South Korea, but his parents moved their family to the United States when he was 12 years old. Today, he lives in Carrollton, TX with his wife, Yulahn, and son, Liam. They also have a belovedminiature Australian Shepherd named Konan. Dr. Chang has a passion forcars and electronics, which he can talk about all day long. Even though he is very passionate about dentistry,oneday, Dr. Chang would like to rebuild a classic car to fulfill a lifelong dream.

As a general dentist in the Frisco, TX area, Dr. Nam Kim opened Luminous Dental Studio with Dr. Minho Chang in the fall of 2016. Improving smiles in theMetro DFW area since 2012, Dr. Kim skillfully provides his patients with preventive, restorative, cosmetic, and emergency dental care. With a focus on patient care, Dr. Kim offers a comprehensive list of dental services,surgeries, orthodontics,periodontics treatments, oral appliance therapies, dental implants, and much more.
Dr. Kim is a strong believer in new technology and new techniques. He does his best to make the time to complete at least one online dental-focused course a monthand attend multiple hands-on dental courses throughout the year. Dr. Kim is proud to be a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Texas Dental Association (TDA), and theAcademy of General Dentistry (AGD).
After his family immigrated to the United States from South Korea when he was in middle school, they settled in Lansdale, PA.Hefinished his undergraduate program at Temple University, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelorof Science degree in biology. Dr. Kim graduated from Temple University's Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA (where he met the general dentist and co-owner of Luminous Dental Studio, Dr. Minho Chang)and earned his doctor of medicine in dentistrydegree.Dr. Kim also completed his AEGD (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) residency program at the Temple University's Kornberg School of Dentistry after he graduated from dental school.
Proud to be living in one of the fastest growing cities in America, Dr. Kim and his wife, Katie, currently work and live in Frisco, TX.Dr. Kims goals as a dentist include becoming a dentist that people can trustand to make peoples dental dreams a reality. He also wants to become that neighborhood dentist in Friscowhereyoung Frisco families keep coming back, share their success stories with us, and see their kids grow.
Dr. Kim enjoys traveling and hopes to take his wife to Europe. She has never been before, and one of his best memories is backpacking there in his twenties. He would love to make more memories and strongly recommends that everyone visit Europe.

I had fallen behind on teeth cleaning. Finally got in to get everything taken care of. The care was outstanding! Best dentist I have ever seen. My daughter's wedding was the next day and my teeth were smooth and clean from the laser that was used. The staff is professional and quick to respond. Will continue my dental care with them. I would highly recommend getting in to see them. They also treated my grandson and the kindness and gentle care they provided was top notch! - Beverly Farris

First visit to see Dr. Chang and I feel blessed to have extended my search for a new Dentist. Felt so at ease by the protocols they have in place in keeping patients and staff safe. Dr. Chang was very patient and very caring and shows concern for his patients. Their office staff Tammie is very helpful and friendly.

Dr. Kim is very thorough and professional. He is very caring and organized. His office runs really well too. I have contacted and visited a few dentists since I moved to this area and have found this dental office the very patient friendly and efficient. Their equipments are wonderful too. Dr. Minho Chang is an excellent Dentist. He is very kind, thorough, and professional at his work. I had a wisdom tooth extracted effortlessly. I am simply in love!!!! Tammi the front desk staff was extremely wonderful and knowledgeable too (mirroring the doctor) - what a great team. They are also very COVID-sensitive and their Studio is meticulous (we love that). I recommend Dr. Minho Chang to anyone needing dental work.

Luminous Dental Studio was the best dental experience of my life. This place has the trifecta of factors that make it amazing. Great paperless tech implementation, highly skilled dentistry and such a pleasant patient flow experience. You can fill pt forms out online and then in person, fill out the consent and history in person on a very fast tablet that has a concise and updated clean ui look. It was easy to schedule a time to get in and their payment plan is much better than doing dental insurance imo if you currently dont have dental insurance. Dr. Kim was amazing, very nice and understanding and highly skilled. I had not been to a dentist in awhile the last few I had gone to were complete nightmares. I will always go to this location as long as they let me lol.

I'm so feel welcome in this dental office. Dr. Chang and staff (Jill and Tammie) are very friendly and approachable. The office is new and spacious. They have the latest dental equipment. Luminous Dental is a very nice, modern, clean, and comfortable studio. The staff is professional easy-going and friendly. Dr. Minho Chang, DMD was very calm, punctual and gentle. The staff go out of their way to provide helpful tips and advise on how to maintain healthy teeth. Above all, this place is well equipped with the latest tech systems and dental equipments. Not to forget, the flat screen TV's hanging from the ceilings really adds to the luxury comfort that luminous Dental studio provides it's guest. Imagine yourself being at a dentist appointment feeling like you are on your way to Miami, laying down on a first class seat on a SouthWest airplane...

They took me for my money! When I first arrived at the dental studio, they told me I didn't have to pay anything, the insurance will cover it. I kept asking them and asking them and asking them time after time during the visit if I had to pay anything and they told me no. I will never ever recommend this dental studio, they are way too expensive and they lie to you and take your money. Luminous should be ashamed of themselves. I will never go here again.

When I had my first appointment with Dr. Kim at Luminous Dental Studio, I was instantly reassured that I picked the right dentist to work with my family. He was kind and listened to my concerns about my dental anxieties. With his gentle chairside manner, Dr. Kim was easy to talk. I had some extensive work done that most dentist would rush me through, but when things didn't go as planned... Dr. Kim kept working through it while making sure I was comfortable. Their state-of-the-art technology is really great too. The intraoral camera displayed my dental concerns front and center in the treatment room on a big screen. It was a great dental experience even though they are never easy for me. Thanks Dr. Kim. Oh, and he made sure to check up on me after my lengthy appointment to make sure I was ok... that's awesome.

I am normally terrified to go to the dentist and came here for the great reviews and new technology. I had the best experience I have ever had at a dentist. I felt very comfortable and even with my nerves regarding the dental work, I felt like I was being cared for with patience and kindness from my dentist. I'm very optimistic for future visits(this is a first for me)! Dr. Kim listened to my concerns, questions, and statements regarding my dental anxiety and took them into account my entire appointment. This made me feel more comfortable and helped me to get through the appointment with more ease than I have ever had.
