Dr. Kelvan Cliff Luff attended dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he experienced a diverse and well-rounded dental education. Dr. Cliff applied himself effectively to his academic and clinical studies, ultimately graduating in the top of his class in 2010 and receiving a number of awards and honors. Following his graduation from dental school, he completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Florida.

After completing his orthodontic residency and training in 2012, Dr. Cliff and his family moved to Denver, Colorado, where he practiced orthodontics for four years, gaining valuable experience and expanding his orthodontic understanding while helping establish and grow multiple practices throughout Colorado, Texas and Wyoming.

Dr. Cliff continually advances his education and training to stay at the forefront of the orthodontic field. He is a member of the American Dental Association and dedicated to providing his patients with beautiful smiles that will last them a lifetime.

Dr. Cliff and his wife, Courtney, have been married since 2003, and they have three children, Jackson, Lexi and Dayley. Courtney is actively involved in the community and at their childrens schools as a substitute teacher and volunteer. Dr. Cliffs own interests include traveling, woodworking and almost anything outdoors. Dr. Cliff speaks Portuguese fluently and Spanish semi-fluently.

Dr. Richard Luff completed his undergraduate studies at Utah State University in Logan, Utah, before attending dental school at The Ohio State University. He graduated first in his class in 2008 and received numerous awards for his accomplishments in patient care and academics. After completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Dr. Luff joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Elmendorf AFB where he cared for the dental needs of the military men and women of Alaska. During his service, he also completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency. Dr. Luff also completed a two-year residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics through the University of Louisville, Kentucky, to become an orthodontist. He has practiced orthodontics since 2014 in Anchorage and since 2017 in Wasilla.

Dr. Luff is a lifelong learner, constantly striving to improve as a clinician through continuing education and collaboration with other dental professionals. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association and the Alaska Dental Society. He is also the past president of the Mat-Su Dental Society. Dr. Luff is excited to be able to utilize his talents for creating beautiful smiles to benefit the people of Alaska. He is committed to providing world-class care in a warm and caring environment and to utilizing the latest technology to take care of his patients and provide beautiful results.

Dr. Luff currently resides in Palmer, where his wifes family has lived since the 1940s. They have three children (Avery, Clyde and Lawrence), one cat and one yellow Lab. He loves the outdoors and spends most of his free time fishing, skiing, rafting, ice climbing and anything else that gets him into the wilds of Alaska.

Office Manager Sara is a lifelong Alaskan, born and raised in the Valley. She completed her bachelors degree in Utah and joined our team in April 2015. She enjoys the family feeling of our office and the way that each member of our team works hard but also has fun. Sara has worked in both the front office and the clinical aspects of our practice, and she strives to help with any need that may arise. She loves helping to make people smile.

Sara has been married to her best friend since 2013. She loves anything outdoors, including hiking, fishing, camping and biking. She also enjoys playing soccer and learning new things every chance she gets.

Treatment Coordinator Tia was born and raised in Alaska, graduating from East Anchorage High School before joining our team in 2013. She enjoys being part of a team that always supports each other and always does their best to achieve success for their patients. Tia is a great team player and is always finding ways to have fun and make people smile and feel good.

Tia is the second of three sisters and has a fur baby named Lucy, who is her whole world. Outside of the office, she loves food and cooking, as well as being outdoors. She can often be found hiking, boating, jet skiing, snowmachining, camping and fishing. She also enjoys traveling and watching the rodeo.

Scheduling Coordinator Carissa joined our team in 2019. She enjoys learning and growing with our practice, and she is an excellent team player, working hard and setting goals that contribute to the success of our office. When not at work, she enjoys hiking, fishing, camping, and spending time with her family and friends.

Financial Coordinator Jenny has been with our team since 2016. She loves being part of a team of friends that are like family and who always laugh at her corny jokes. She also appreciates that Luff Orthodontics has the kindest leadership and quality of team out of anywhere she has worked. Jennys detail-oriented approach helps keep our office running smoothly.

Lead Assistant Alyssa joined Luff Orthodontics in 2013. She loves having lunch with her friends on our team and works diligently to care for our patients and keep our office running smoothly. Alyssa is a second-generation Alaskan and loves to remodel houses in her spare time.

Orthodontic Assistant Tessa became a part of our team in July 2020. She is certified EMT, and she loves her co-workers and the dynamic of working at Luff Orthodontics. She is especially skilled at noticing what needs doing and getting it done. Tessa has three brothers, a bulldog and a bearded dragon that may just be big enough to qualify as a dinosaur! In her free time, she enjoys meditating, oil painting, hiking, camping and backpacking.

Orthodontic Assistant Erica graduated from East High School in 2017 and UAA in 2020, and she joined our team soon after. Her favorite part of working at Luff Orthodontics is that everyone shares the same vision and dedication in working. You can often find her bringing snacks to her coworkers in case they get hungry and helping patients achieve the smile they always wanted. Erica is the youngest of two children and was born and raised in the Philippines. She likes to travel, cook and explore different types of food.

Orthodontic Assistant Barbie is a certified dental assistant and completed her training at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. She always does her best to give her patients great smiles, and shes a part of why our team works so well together and cares so much about our patients happiness. Barbie has a husband and a son who moved up to Alaska from Missouri in 2017. When she has time, she loves being outdoors, biking and hiking!
