After obtaining his DDS at USC, Dr. Kim went on to complete a residency at the highly competitive UCLA Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) postgraduate program, where he focused on reconstructive, restorative, and implant dentistry.
He has also received advanced training for dental implants at the Misch International Implant Institute and at the Global Dental ImplantAssociation. He is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
Dr. Kim has also been a faculty member at the USC and UCLA schools of dentistry. While many dentist claim on their websites that they were faculty at local dental schools, the faculty badges show that Dr Kim actually was. The standards he taught at those schools carry over into his practice where you receive the ideal care under a caring practitioner.
I'm not surprised by all the positive comments here. It's very difficult to find a humble, happy, and humane dentist in Los Angeles. I have had at least 10, all of which should have chosen other professions. I feel like there are a lot of insecure, disorganized and incompetent dentists. I had given up on finding a good dentist. I figured I'll just get dentures when my teeth rot. Not anymore. Wow, how refreshing it was to visit this office. The best customer service, on time, and I even got a thank you letter in the mail with a gift card to Starbucks!?? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatt???
Just be aware that there is an initial registration fee of some kind (I think it was like 60 bucks or something). Regardless, I would pay double that for this service because it's the first time I have walked out of a dentist's office without wanting to throw myself off of a bridge. Thank you!

Can't say enough good things about Dr. Kim and his staff! They were ready for the the minute I walked in, and things moved quickly through my entire exam, x rays, and cleaning. They are thorough, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. He even makes himself available during off hours for emergencies. I feel so lucky to have such a great dentist on my side. Go here!

I have a past with dentists I thought was scarred for life. I've often felt ashamed, afraid of pain and judged. My entire experience of going to the dentist changed with Dr. Kim. I couldn't ask for a more generous and educated man who is sensitive not only to what is needed to make my mouth healthy again, but also sensitive to everything from my emotions, to my comfortability in the chair to my financial situation. He worked with me in every way. I have gotten A LOT of work done and have not had a single issue during that time. The staff is great, flexible, the environment is peaceful- I got my work done in the mornings with the window open, birds singing. It's like having a practice in Snow White's cottage! Have no more fear, I'm telling you, this place and the people who run it are magical and genuine people. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Dr. Kim has good bedside manner along with gentle, and swift hands. He explains the procedure in details before and after, and he does the follow-up after the visit. I am very impressed with Dr. Kim and his staffs.

I had been putting off going to the dentist FOREVER because, well, I hate it. But after getting a referral to Dr. Kim, I decided it was time. From my first contact with Bella, who was super helpful with insurance questions, it has been a very pleasant experience. Everyone at the office is very professional, friendly, responsive and they take the Covid-19 precautions seriously. Dr. Kim is very patient, knows his stuff and takes the time to explain things clearly. Michelle, who did my cleaning, was considerate of my sensitivities, very gentle and thorough. My partner went in shortly after I did, I already have my next appointment scheduled and I've recommended Dr. Kim to a coworker. Finally, I think I'll start going to the dentist regularly!

Dr. Kim was very condescending to me as a new patient. He kept going on about how I need to respect him and never be late for an appointment, even though I was 30 mins early for my first appointment. He wanted me to sign some meaningless "commitment" agreement to respecting him and not wasting his time. Meanwhile his assistant gave me the most painful teeth cleaning I've ever had from a dentist visit. My gums have been permanently damaged from that visit and I'm never going back.

If you're looking for a dentist that cares about you and your concern and presents you with valid data to show you with full transparency on what's going on with your teeth and solutions to fix them, He is the one go to and I'm soo glad I have found! Even through the current pandemic events, everyone there makes amazing precautions to ensure both you and the staff are keeping healthy and safe. I am very (and, I mean VERY) particular when choosing a dentist and have been so happy since I found Dr. Kim in Glendale. He is extremely thorough, yet conservative, in his approach to dental health. They don't make many dentists like him anymore. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a new dentist!

My name is Cristina and I am a senior with a disappointing experience at this practice, which resulted in my seeking the services of another doctor. This is unfortunate. Dr. Kim incorrectly advised me to undergo many thousands of dollars in bridge replacements among other expensive procedures, when all that was required was a simple filling that did not require removing the existing bridge. This fact was confirmed by two independent dentists, one of whom, I'm now seeing for my dental needs from now on. The only conclusion I can draw from this experience is that Dr. Kim is more concerned about monetizing his services to the extent that disenfranchises his elderly patients. In my seventies and on a fixed income, would have had to fork over over $10,000 to correct a problem that other reputable dentists could easily remedy (and with much less pain and hassle) for less that $3,000. Upon visiting the office, it is plain to see that (in my opinion) the overwhelming and extravagant use of computer screens, computers, gizmos, machines that go "ping"*, and other and superfluous equipment must have cost quiet a bit. Maybe, given his overhead, the motive becomes clearer. In summary, I would avoid this dentist, at all costs. Although outwardly "professional" he's actually a sneaky fellow and way too ROI-driven. Therefore, all I can manage is one star. Hope this is useful to someone. * The "machine the goes ping" refers to the famous Monty Python skit of the 70s. A joke, and one that would have been on us, if I had not decided to seek 2nd and 3rd opinions!
