My name is Kris Gurr and I would love to take a minute to introduce myself before I meet you in person.My father was a chaplain in the Air Force so we moved around the world until he retired when I was 12 years old. I was raised in Phoenix, Arizona, and even though I loved it I was excited to get away from the heat and the big city.
I love to travel and do everything outdoors with my family. My wife Brooke and I have two children and love to go hiking, 4-wheeling, fishing and playing with them outdoors in the Hatchers Pass area. My wife Brooke is a hygienist and will be working alongside me in my practice.
We both look forward to practicing dentistry in Wasilla and serve in the community and surrounding area. I have worked in the dental field for many years and have been able to care for and provide exceptional care for my patients.
I grew up in Johnson City, Tennessee and attended the University of Tennessee where I met my wife, Angela. Together we moved to Nashville, TN where we had our first two children (Brayden-7 and Avery-5) and I completed dental school.
After Dental school I joined the army and completed a one year residency where I got side by side training from some of the Armys best dental specialists. Our family was then assigned to JBER, AK where we had our third child (Jackson-2) and I served as the brigade dentist for 4th Brigade/25th Infantry Division for two years, including airborne training and a deployment to Afghanistan. I then served as regular army dentist for two additional years. Although Im sad my time in the army has come to an end I am excited to start working at Lucille Dental and serving Wasillas dental needs.
I married my high school sweetheart, Breeta, half way through dental school. Last spring, she was selected into the Family Medical Residency at Providence. We are both very excited to be here! In our free time, we enjoy hiking, running, cooking, and spending time with friends.
I was born and raised in Wasilla, Alaska and love what this beautiful state has to offer. I enjoy being outside and have a passion for kayaking and hiking with my two dogs. I also enjoy a good game of football, Lets Go Bucs!
I have always had an interest in health care, and once I learned how oral health directly affects your body I felt passionate about educating on why oral health is so important. For me, Dental Hygiene was a great career choice. Not only do I get to educate, but I am able to meet and build relationships with people in our community.
I graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with my Associates in Dental Hygiene, but went back to get my Bachelors in Dental Hygiene. I love that I am able to provide care to the community that I grew up in and am excited to meet you!

I can't say I was impressed with the old dentist . He wasn't bad just seemed new I guess however this new dentist is amazing and the staff had always been wonderful . I would definitely recommend

They're great! The hygienist is super nice and remembers I don't like fluoride. The new dentist did a great job as well. :)

Did a crown, got a second opinion because color and contour was not correct. Did not receive temporary because of there confidence in there new in house tooth maker machine. Tried to tell them that the tooth did not feel right and the shade didn't match my other teeth but they did not want to listen. They said if you still don't like it in 3 months will redo it. I instead went to get my second opinion with a dentist that first does a temp crown so you know what to expect and then 2 weeks later you get the permanent tooth and have already gone over the mold, color and contour before it even goes in your mouth. I have 2 crowns already this was my third one and it definitely didn't match my other teeth. I would request a temporary crown so you know what to expect your new tooth to look like. On a more positive note...I have had no problems with feelings here so they are a good dentist, they just need to listen to the patient and give them no surprise from the tooth maker machine.

Always very clean, a calm and organized environment. Staff acknowledge you quickly, and as a patient here I have never had to wait more than 1 minute past the start of an appointment for my appointment to start. Terra rules and probably needs a raise.

I've come for years, mostly because I love my hygienist but also because I get my teeth whitened twice a year!! The prices increased last year from $99 to $120, no biggie, happy to pay $120 for my kit that lasts easily 4 visits. NOW, the price is $250 per kit, the service went from 30 minutes to an HOUR, and you don't leave with leftovers for the next visit. Sadly I can't continue this service at that price OR time block. Sad news. 10 stars for Terra though!
