Dr. Lucia Yau is a graduate of Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. She ranked among the top percentile of her class and earned Tufts Merit Scholarship four years in a row. Upon graduation in 1999, she received the Academy of Operative Dentistry Award and Northeastern Society of Periodontists Award, highlighting her exceptional skills in general dentistry and gum treatment. Dr. Yau continues to update her skills by attending continuing education courses beyond the minimum state requirement.
For instance, Dr. Yau is a lifetime member in the USDI program for orthodontics. In addition, she completed a CDA sponsored training program in 2007 that focused on children's dental health and is currently serving children (as young as age one) and adults in her office.
Dr. Yau holds dental licenses in California and Massachusetts. She was Secretary for Orange County Dental Society Dental Health Foundation; a non-profit corporation which aims to improve dental care access for those in need, particularly children. She is an active member of the Orange County Dental Society, California Dental Association, American Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry.
Throughout the year, you will find Dr. Yau at numerous dental screening events held at senior centers and community centers in the cities of Anaheim, Cerritos, Fullerton and Santa Ana. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling and running.
Dr. Yau finished her first Huntington Beach Surf City half-marathon on February 3rd, 2008 in pouring rain; continuing the legacy, she finished her second and third half-marathon in 2009 and then in 2010. She considers her pumpkin pie award on Thanksgiving day at the 10K 'Turkey Trot' finish line a 'proud moment'. In more recent years, Dr. Yau takes on a new role as mother to her two children. Lucia is a pleasure to have as a dentist. If you're anything like me, the dentist was not a fun trip with your mom as a kid. I've been to dentist (some literally down the street) that leave me with cotton balls on my bleeding gums, but Lucia and her EXTREMELY FRIENDLY staff has never done me wrong. Not only do I plan on going here forever, but I've already recommended my mother and girlfriend to this location. They will make you feel welcomed, and they will 100% work with you financially. I'm a full time college student with a part time job, yet they made getting Invisalign manageable. As an OC local, I wish I knew about this humble office earlier. Make the best decision, and book your appointment with Dr. Lucia!

Dr Yau is great, we have been visiting her few years now. She has been taking care of both of our dental need. She is honest and not pushy trying to get unnecessary treatment done like some other dentists we visited. She will treat only what needs to be treated without charging left and right. We are really glad that she is our family dentist.

I'm 55 and have had more than one dentist in my time. Dr. Lucia is by far the best dentist I've had. She has replaced every filling and a cap that all the other dentist put in and in my opinion has done it easier and better and she never complains about my insurance unlike my other dentist. Easy 5 Star Dentist!

My fill-in came off my front tooth so decided to go online and find an affordable dentist . That's how I discovered Elite Dental . As soon as I walked in I was greeted and given all my paperwork to fill out . I was quickly called inside for Dr. To see . Everything was explained in detail without making it one bit complicated .I consider this to be the best experience at a dental office in my 28 years of age . I Highly recommend this place to all my family and friends.

Dr. Yay is the BEST!! I'm only afraid of ONE thing...that's seeing the dentist. However, Dr. Yay and her staff have eased my anxiety and given me a trust in dentists I've never had before. She goes above and beyond to ease your fears and anxiety. She explains any procedure being done and follow up care is phenomenal. I would recommend Dr. Lucia Yay to anyone...friend, family, or anyone looking for a great dentist.

I just finished having intense dental work completed at Elite Dental and can say for sure that I am a life-long patient! I had not been to a dentist in many years due to financial concerns and also severe dental anxiety; Dr. Yau and her staff was so nice to work with me on both areas. Also I work long night shift hours and have trouble getting and KEEPING appointments... they helped me get morning appointments when I needed them and were so nice to me the day I forgot to show up because I had my days of the week mixed up! Last but not least, Dr. Yau has great chair-side manner and is great with injections when needed (her staff actually holds your hand:)Overall, I had a great experience.
