Dr. Steven Luccarelli loves his work. With new technology and a new facility, he loves it more now than ever. He has been practicing orthodontics in the East Williston and Mineola area for nearly 30 years. For the past ten years, Dr. Luccarelli has been honored by his peers by being voted Best Dentist through topDentists and has been voted as a 2016 Doctor of Distinction from the Long Island Pulse. He has been a clinical professor of orthodontics at Columbia University for the past 30 years and is the director of orthodontics at Winthrop Universitys dental residency program. Dr. Luccarelli takes great pride in delivering the highest level of patient care possible, but has always made the commitment to provide it in a warm and caring atmosphere.
His vision of excellent treatment is for his patients to have a beautiful, healthy smile with an experience that is nothing short of exceptional. He wants you to feel at home and feel as though you were treated like family.
Dr. Luccarelli recognizes the importance of staying current with the rapid changes in orthodontics and spends in excess of 100 hours a year on continuing education. He teaches orthodontics at Columbia University and has been a clinical professor there for more than 20 years. He was president of the Columbia Orthodontic Alumni Society in 1991 and is an active member of their executive board.
He is also chairman of the Mid-Nassau Dental Study Club and is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, American Board of Orthodontics, and New York Dental Society. He lectures throughout the country, is a consultant for 3M and Sybron technologies in orthodontic research and development, and has been awarded a patent in orthodontic instrument design.
Dr. Barrese attended New York University College of Dentistry and received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He was inducted into the prestigious honors society known as Omicron Kappa Upsilon and was awarded the Dean Edward G. Kaufman Award for Academic Excellence. While a student, he participated in the Honors in Orthodontics program to gain more experience and education in the field of orthodontics, while serving as President of the NYU Orthodontic Society. Dr. Barrese took great pride in participating in mission trips to Maine and Grenada to provide dental care for underprivileged communities.
After NYU, Dr. Barrese completed his specialty training at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine. He earned a certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, while also earning another Masters degree in Oral Biology for his research in virtual planning in oral surgery and orthodontics to correct dentofacial deformities.

Luccarelli & Barrese Orthodontics is a tightly run, smooth operation. What an impressive practice! Everyone in the office is nice, on point, and always looking ahead, to make sure everything is taken care of in advance. Dr. Barrese is very talented, with an eye for the smallest details. Dr. Luccarelli, along with his office staff, is Hands-down the best around. I had an emergency on a Monday night, and he was able to get me in and fix the problem immediately the next day. The office secretaries are extremely approachable, which isn't the case in many doctor offices, and make everything seamless. Dr. Luccarelli is extremely meticulous and does excellent work. You can't go wrong!!

The best front office staff, the best dental associate staff and the two men that are taking care of your smile are incredible. When you walk into the office you feel welcomed. When you walk to be seated you're greeted with a smile. The Orthodontists are warm, caring, attentive and personable. It's easy to reccomend them to everyone in need of dental care.

Top notch practice. Super friendly staff, professional and super clean. Both Orthodontist's are extremely knowledgeable, and accommodating. They are wonderful treating kids and also adults. Myself and my daughter are patients and visiting is always quick and simple. They definitely improved both our smiles tremendously. I highly recommend them. I am absolutely thrilled with Luccarelli & Barrese Orthodontics. The experience of both the application of my daughter's braces and follow-up appointments could not be better. Both dentists have been friendly, patient, professional, and terrific with kids. And at our last visit, Dr. Luccarelli fixed an issue with my teeth that had been bothering me for years. It made a world of difference, and I am so happy. The entire staff is friendly and professional, the office is clean, and I have never had to wait very long (if at all ) for an appointment. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

They rounded out my sister's teeth after she specifically asked them not to. It's been years, but to this day she is infuriated by this violation and hates her teeth. To correct it, she would have to lose even more enamel, so she is stuck with them.

An outstanding practice! A beautiful office with a knowledgeable and caring staff. Both of my children have been patients there (each for a stretch of 2.5 years) and both have gorgeous smiles, as a result! I can honestly say that every single visit there has been a pleasure. Appointments run on time and Dr. Luccarelli and Dr. Joe provide exceptional care. They are thorough and always keep their patients informed and at ease. They are also to be complimented for setting a very friendly and warm tone that is evident throughout the office. It is clear that there is mutual respect between the Doctors and the staff which is lovely to witness. In addition, they all seem to genuinely enjoy both their work and engaging with patients. A 5 star practice without question!!!

The absolute best!!! Perfectionists. Both Dr. Luccarelli and Dr. Barrese are truly passionate about helping people achieve a perfect smile. I did invisalign with them as an adult and when it is my kids' turns for braces, I will be bringing them here as well. Trust them 100%. The office is run incredibly well especially with respect to covid protocols and the entire support staff is friendly and excellent as well. Highly recommend!

If you're looking for a camera-ready smile and top-notch practice this is the place to go!! This office came highly recommended and we're so happy it did. They provide many extras above and beyond the usual orthodontic experience and we left there completely satisfied with their services and my son's new smile. Dr. Lucarelli and Dr. Barrese as well as the entire staff are knowledgeable, caring and as an extra bonus have great sense of humors. The office itself is clean, modern and comes with many extra amenities like a game room, coffee and refreshment bar and endless interesting sports memorabilia to view. Now my daughter is ready for braces and this is no doubt where we will bring her.

Where do I begin? My experience with the staff has been nothing short of phenomenal! My son just completed his orthodontic treatment and we couldn't be happier! Dr. Luccarelli and Dr. Barrese made the entire process ridiculously easy from beginning to end. They are affordable, professional, efficient, super friendly, and most importantly THEY CARE ABOUT YOU! They truly do! I am beyond satisfied and so glad that I entrusted them with my son's beautiful smile!
