Dr. Kevin Lucas grew up in Arlington Heights and knew he wanted to become an orthodontist ever since he had braces as a freshman at Wheeling High School. He graduated from the University of Illinois, Champaign in 1982 and received his dental degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago in 1986. He continued his orthodontic specialty training at the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated in 1989.
Dr. Lucas has been teaching orthodontics since 1990 at the University of Pennsylvania (an Ivy League school), where he is an Associate Professor. Through the program he has educated more than 200 orthodontists who practice worldwide. He completed the highest level of Board Certification in Orthodontics and was the recent president of the Chicago Dental Society Northwest Suburban area. Dr. Lucas is very active in the dental community as founder of the Northern Illinois Dentofacial Study Group. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Illinois Society of Orthodontics, American Dental Association and the Chicago Dental Society. He also lectures on adult orthodontics and interceptive orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Lucas is a leading authority on adult orthodontics and treats patients from all over the country who have the most challenging dental problems. He also developed the R.S.E. (Remarkable Smiles Efficiently) system, which provides ideal treatment in the shortest times possible.
Dr. Lucas and his wife, Renee, have three children: Brett, Nicolette and Justin. Brett is a junior in college at Emory University in Atlanta, where he was recruited to be a distance runner for both cross-country and track teams.Nicolette is a freshman at Michigan State where she is studying Elementary Education.Justin is a Junior in high school. He loves to play football, hockey and lacrosse ( when he is not playing video games!).
At Lucas Orthodontics, we are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment. Our staff is trained and skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Each member of our treatment team is a registered assistant, and our office staff has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in technology and advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.
We utilize methods that deliver gentle forces so that patients are comfortable with treatment. Education and the explanation of treatment are emphasized enabling patients to make an informed decision about their care.

We have been very pleased with the care and attention that she has received. annalea's braces have never hurt her, cut her, or caused sores which was my worry. They have made billing easy for us. They make her feel Comfortable and cared for in each appointment. During Covid they were always following guidelines and we felt safe going in for our appointments when we needed to. I'm sure my son will need to begin treatments soon too, in which case we will be returning !

Dr. Lucas and his staff are great in every aspect of the word. I have no complaints in the couple years we've been coming here. I would highly recommend this office and will be back with the next child in line for braces.

Fantastic experience. Braces came off before the expected time, reasonably priced, and the experience as a whole was made much simpler and easier than expected. Staff was friendly every visit, and Dr. Lucas himself demonstrated a great balance of geniality and competence. Would highly recommend.
