Dr. Kevin Lucas grew up in Arlington Heights and knew he wanted to become an orthodontist ever since he had braces as a freshman at Wheeling High School. He graduated from the University of Illinois, Champaign in 1982 and received his dental degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago in 1986. He continued his orthodontic specialty training at the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated in 1989.
Dr. Lucas has been teaching orthodontics since 1990 at the University of Pennsylvania (an Ivy League school), where he is an Associate Professor. Through the program he has educated more than 200 orthodontists who practice worldwide. He completed the highest level of Board Certification in Orthodontics and was the recent president of the Chicago Dental Society Northwest Suburban area. Dr. Lucas is very active in the dental community as founder of the Northern Illinois Dentofacial Study Group. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Illinois Society of Orthodontics, American Dental Association and the Chicago Dental Society. He also lectures on adult orthodontics and interceptive orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Lucas is a leading authority on adult orthodontics and treats patients from all over the country who have the most challenging dental problems. He also developed the R.S.E. (Remarkable Smiles Efficiently) system, which provides ideal treatment in the shortest times possible.
Dr. Lucas and his wife, Renee, have three children: Brett, Nicolette and Justin. Brett is a junior in college at Emory University in Atlanta, where he was recruited to be a distance runner for both cross-country and track teams.Nicolette is a freshman at Michigan State where she is studying Elementary Education.Justin is a Junior in high school. He loves to play football, hockey and lacrosse ( when he is not playing video games!).

Our staff is trained and skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Each member of our treatment team is a registered assistant, and our office staff has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in technology and advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.
We utilize methods that deliver gentle forces so that patients are comfortable with treatment. Education and the explanation of treatment are emphasized enabling patients to make an informed decision about their care.

I went to Lucas Orthodontics as a child in middle school to receive braces. Recently went back 15 years later as an adult to get new retainers and slight adjustments and the service has remained just as good as it was 15 years prior. I would recommend Dr Lucas to anyone out there!

Dr Lucas and his team are absolutely fabulous! My child had a fairly complex dental challenge so we were referred to Dr Lucas' practice. I'm so happy that we were pointed in that direction. We had an awesome experience with this practice. This great team of professionals made a point to explain the plan to me AND my child. This team is quick to respond when you have questions. Dr. Lucas is the best. I was recommended by my sister and my experience was just as good. I'm thoroughly satisfied with my new smile and they even threw in a whitening kit at the end of my treatment. Staff is very friendly!

I have been a long time patient of Lucas Orthodontics and my experience has always been amazing. Simply put, Dr. Lucas is the best. He is extremely knowledgeable and professional, and he produces amazing results. He will listen to any concerns you may have and do all that he can to make sure you feel comfortable and are happy. He truly cares about his patients and really takes the time to get to know them. Dr. Lucas also has an incredible team of assistants. I would not choose any other orthodontist, and I strongly recommend him for both kids and adults. You will not be disappointed.

I went to Dr. Lucas for my braces 25 years ago. My daughter saw Dr. Lucas for her braces and I would never bring her anywhere else. He genuinely cares about his patients. Asks how my mom and family are doing at each visit. The entire team at Lucas Orthodontics is amazing!

Would not recommend!!! The treatment coordinator thinks she knows everything and is a complete jerk to her employees. Saw it with my own eyes while waiting for my child to be done with an color change and tightening. She humiliated them in front of people and makes them look bad. As for the staff they seemed nice from what I saw. Dr Lucas seems knowledgeable but I would never bring another child there again after seeing what those girls go threw there!!

My two daughters are patients of Dr. Lucas, and we couldn't be happier with our experience over the last several years. Dr. Lucas was always incredibly patient with my daughters' slow-to-fall-out teeth and never rushed the process or pushed for extractions. We had multiple consultations during this time and were never charged a penny for those appointments. He continues to explain the process to us in his calm and very caring manner. His staff is so friendly and always takes the time arrange appointments that accommodate hectic schedules. They are such a pleasure to work with, and we highly recommend Lucas Orthodontics!

I have been a patient for over 20 years and have had nothing but an outstanding experience every visit. Dr. Lucas and all his orthodontist assistants are incredible and always make you feel comfortable no matter what you are coming in for. I now live in farther away and they are always super accommodating with my schedule and I will travel whatever distance as long as I am in Dr. Lucas's hands! If you are looking for an orthodontist, look no farther, Dr. Lucas is the one!

Had to have a tooth realigned as it had pushed forward. Dr. Lucas and his team made it very simple and straight forward using Invisalign. They are always available to answer any questions no matter how foolish they seem.

I highly recommend Lucas Orthodontics for both adults and kids! Dr. Lucas is very experienced and well trained; staff is friendly and easy to work with! I've been an adult patient for years and Dr. Lucas replaced a permanent retainer for me. Now both my kid's are patients. My daughter has had an expander and retainers. My son has had teeth pulled based on Dr Lucas' recommendations. My kids enjoy coming to Dr. Lucas-he is patient and very personal and makes it fun for the kids.

My two siblings and I have had great experiences with braces over the years with Lucas Orthodontics. I recently lost my retainers and Dr. Lucas' staff arranged for me to come in within a few days. The office is very efficient and they use state of the art technology. The payment system is user friendly. As such, I would recommend Lucas Orthodontics to anyone needing dental corrections.

Dr. Lucas and staff are amazing. Very friendly. Had my braces done and my daughters. My wife and her family also had their braces done with Dr. Lucas. My younger kids will probably be patients there (pacifiers). I recommend them to anyone that asks.
