Dr. Thanasi Loukas is a 2006 graduate of the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. While attending college, he received clinical honors for his work in implant dentistry. Dr. Loukas is a member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois Dental Society, and the Hellenic American Dental Society.In order to provide patients with the latest in breakthrough dental care, Dr. Loukas furthers his knowledge through continuing education courses and dental certifications.
Dr. Loukas offers patients general, cosmetic, and restorative dental care. While his passion lay in placing and restoring dental implants, he also performs advanced endodontic procedures and restores compromised teeth with white fillings and natural looking porcelain crowns. Dr. Loukas brightens smiles with professional teeth whitening and porcelain veneers, and is certified to provide Invisalign clear braces.
Dr. Maria Loukas received high clinical honors upon her graduation from Loyola University of Chicago in 1980. From there, she operated a private practice in Chicago until relocating to Park Ridge in 1992. For over 30 years Dr. Loukas has been providing comprehensive dental care for our Park Ridge patients.
Starting in 2008, Dr. Loukas began attending dental missions in Latin American countries, providing crucial dental care for native populations. She has completed five such missions and looks forward to more.
For over 16 years Peggy Dunaj has assisted our patients and our team. She strives to educate patients on the best methods of maintaining good dental health. Peggy is happy to address any questions and concerns. She is also fluent in sign language. Peggy has been certified to perform dental cleanings and apply dental sealants to help safeguard our patients smiles. For her, the best part of the job involves meeting new people.

Our waiting room features plush seating, a variety of engaging magazines, and a friendly front office staff who are ready to answer your questions concerning billing, insurance, and scheduling. Weve furnished our treatment rooms with ergonomically designed exam chairs and the walls showcase a collection of beautiful art prints. And, of course, every aspect of our practice fits standard protocols for sanitization and safety.
At Loukas Dentistry of Park Ridge, we are committed to utilizing the most advanced dental technology available so we can enhance the precision and accuracy of the care we provide our patients. The office uses digital x-rays, which require much less radiation than conventional film. The images are stored in our computers for easy communication with your insurance company or other dentists or specialists at your request. The x-rays can be viewed on computer monitors or an LCD monitor at much larger sizes for diagnosis and patient education.
New Progeny Panoramic Digital X-rays are now available at our office to provide quick and easy x-rays taken outside of the mouth. Panoramic X-rays have reduced radiation, and include full-mouth panoramic, bitewing, and even TMJ x-rays to be taken.
A wireless intraoral camera is used to take pictures and video inside your mouth. The camera is an important educational tool for our patients. It allows the doctors to more easily explain to our patients what actually is going on with their particular case. When was the last time your dentist sat and explained to you why you really needed a certain procedure done? Before and after pictures can be done which show the positive difference you can expect to acheive.
Digital camera may be used for cosmetic cases or any case where more detail is required. Before and after photos are taken frequently, so you can have a clearer view of the changes a given procedure has made possible. Pictures can be sent to the dental laboratory which make the crowns, veneers, and dentures fabricated look incredibly customized and realistic. Many dentists do not provide this level of detail to their patients but we proudly do.
During your treatment, televisions are available to watch in each treatment room. You can hold the remote and change the station to whatever you like. The flat screen TV in the reception area even has HD channels available. The TVs are also uses to show you any x-rays, pictures, or other information pertaining to your treatment.

Would definitely not recommend unless you want to be over charged. I personally got screwed for a surprised $310 cost.

Dr. Loukas is very knowledgeable and professional. Rosanna at front desk is always very polite and organized in terms of insurance and billing. Elena who does the cleaning is very gentle and explains everything she does patiently. I did deep cleaning, Invisalign and crown treatment at Loukas Dentistry and the results for all the treatments turned out so good. I really like the Invisalign treatment, Dr. Loukas evaluated 2 treatment plans for me carefully and we end up choose a faster one. At each stage, he carefully evaluated the progress and made adjustments so that my teeth not only aligned well but also my bite are good. The result turned out to be amazing, my teeth are perfectly aligned and my gum is healthy, I felt a lot more confident to smile now. I highly recommend come to this place for your dental procedures.

After avoiding the dentist from past experiences, I can finally say I enjoy going to the dentist! If you are looking for a professional dentist, who truly cares and pays close attention to details, I highly recommend Loukas Dentistry to everyone. Dr. T is the best. He has done already a few procedures for me and all of them have turned out perfect. He always explains what he will be doing before the procedure and while he is doing it, and also checking on you during the work. He answers all your questions throughly and makes sure everything is understood, along with a look at a future plan. He makes sure he is there for you out of office times incase of an emergency following procedures. Not only does he care about the dental work, but I love that he also engages in conversation before getting started. Peggy is also wonderful. Anytime I have worked with her, she always makes me feel comfortable and knows exactly what she is doing. Even when I am not working with her, I enjoy that she takes the time to say hello, along with Dr. Maria, who is so sweet whenever I see her. The whole staff is so pleasant and always makes me feel welcomed. From the moment I walk in and as I am leaving, Rosanna is always delightful and so friendly. She knows that I have a trickier schedule, so she is great at accommodating it and also explains all the billing done in detail. She knows that when I am getting a bigger procedure done, I can get a little nervous but she always helps to comfort me. :) And for my teeth cleanings, Elena has been great with feedback on showing me how I should be brushing and flossing, and any areas that I could use more improvement than others. You would think that you are brushing correctly all this time, but I have put her feedback into great use and added them into my daily routine. I really love coming to this office. No matter how big or small my procedure will be - I know I will be in great hands at Loukas Dentistry. Thank you for all you do!!!

Worst dentist ever. Like a butcher shop. That guy there is not patient, very rammy. If you have good insurance, you'll have 100 appointments.

Loukas Dentistry is a family run dental center. Everyone is exceedingly nice & knowledgeable. I have been a patient for over 20 years. The care provided is exceptional. Today was my first time visiting Loukas Dentistry for a routine cleaning it and it was probably the most fun and most thorough cleaning and consultation I've had in a while (and who says that about a dentist visit?). From the moment I walked in, the entire staff was extremely friendly and made me feel as if I had been a patient of theirs for years. Roseanna is such a sweetheart and very helpful when it came to making the appointment, following-up with me and my insurance and my explaining coverage. Elena did a fantastic job with my cleaning! She was very sweet and engaging and was extremely knowledgeable about her craft. Instead of simply telling me how to take the best care of my teeth, she showed me which honestly makes all of the difference. She also assisted with scheduling my next appointments. Lastly, Dr. Thanasi Loukas was great as well! He, too, was very friendly and thorough and walked me through step by step every detail that he felt was important for me to know and be aware of regarding my oral health and hygiene. He also provided a care plan and options of next steps. Mrs. Loukas also went out of her way to say hi and welcome me which was very pleasant! The entire group left a wonderful impression on me and I'm actually looking forward to my next visit!
