Dr. May Louie was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She attended the University of Southern California and received her B.A. in Biological Sciences with Honors in 1978. She received Phi Beta Kappa and Deans List for eight consecutive semesters. From there, Dr. Louie went on to attend the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry and graduated in the upper third of her class in 1982.
After only 5 years of practice, Dr. Louie was awarded the prestigious fellowship award from the ADI (the Academy of Dentistry International) in 1987; an award generally reserved for older, seasoned dentists. The AGI recognized Dr. Louie early on due to her extensive amount of continuing education courses in so short a time. Then in 2003, Dr. Louie was also awarded the prestigious fellowship award from the Academy of General Dentistry, reflecting Dr. Louie's ongoing, lifelong quest and commitment to continuing education to better service her patients.
Dr. Louie has been mentioned in the publication 'Who 's Who In California', 'Who 's Who Among Rising Young Americans' and 'Who 's Who in Executive Businesses'. Dr. Louie was also selected by Top Docs Los Angeles as one of the top dentists in 2011 and was featured on the Dr. Oz show for her 30 seconds of fame and glory!

We have a reputation for being honest and making your best interest our priority. We have a conscience because we want to sleep well at night over the dentistry we provide to you. We don't do dentistry that is not necessary. We don't call stains decay. We don't tell you a crown is necessary if a tooth has no supporting bone around it. We don't tell you that every crown needs a root canal. And if we can't do the job, or shouldn't, in your best interests, we will be honest and tell you so, but we will also refer you to someone else who has more training than us to tackle your specific problem. We will refer you to a specialist equipped to handle the procedure whom Dr. Louie personally trusts (she has even been their patient herself!).
We want to know what your desires and goals are for your teeth and smile. We don't work on you, we work WITH you. You have an active part in making decisions for your dental care. We inform you. We empower you with knowledge and options, so you will feel good about what you decide upon and what we will do for you!
We will provide several financial options to make your dentistry affordable. We have payment plans, special credit lines like Carecredit with no interest for one year or you can extend your payments up to five years. We have in-house plans for those who can show true financial hardship, who would otherwise let their teeth rot out. We don't want you to feel you can't get the care you need because of money. We will try our utmost to make it possible for you.
We will provide you our treatment recommendations in writing, along with all of your options. You will know how much your care will cost, how much your insurance (if any) will cover and an estimate of what your share will be. We will explain to you the type of insurance you have, how your insurance works for you, what it covers (benefits) and what it won't cover (limitations and exclusions). We will help you to understand very clearly, the mumbo jumbo of insurance language so there will be no misunderstandings or unexpected surprises.
One of the main reasons people love our office is because we do EVERYTHING possible to make sure you don 't feel a thing! We want to make pain, fear and anxiety a thing of the past when going to the dentist. We can give you an almost 100% pain free injection by using topical anesthetic first. We can also prescribe a 'happy pill' to take the edge off of your anxiety.
Dr. Louie has almost 40 years of experience, having degrees from USC and UCLA with honors. She also received the prestigious Fellowship Award from the Academy of Dentistry International and another Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry; reflecting the extensive continuing education Dr. Louie takes to stay abreast of the latest developments in the constantly changing field of dentistry. Dr. Louie is extremely conscientious.
We not only review your dental history, but your medical history as well. We make sure that whatever we do in our dentistry, it will not affect your health in an adverse way. We ensure that the dentistry will be safe for you...from drug or medication cross reactions to allergies to latex or drugs.
We love kids, and we help parents raise cavity-free children. With improved technology, it may be possible to eliminate tooth decay in children. We make sure you know the specific ways to prevent tooth decay for your child, like sealants. That means you save money and your child remains healthy. I have been seeing only Dr. May Louie for all my dentistry needs. The care, and thorough work she does is exemplary. I've had over the years various work done my initial visit I recall was for a deep cleaning/scaling; painless experience. My teeth are crowded so I see her every 6 to 8 months for a cleaning. It is worth the visit as it makes her job easier, and in turn easier on me. I've had a dentist or two in between visits who's cleaning efforts paled in comparison. The past 5 years I've been back in her area, and am very pleased with her care, kindness, humor, and thoroughness. I can highly recommend Dr. May C. Louie for all your dental care. Dr. Louie is the best Dentist. I've been going with her for over 20 years and all my kids too. We always have a great experience with her. She had a lot of patience with my kids over the years, during our visits. Now that they're older and their fear of going to the dentist is gone, they love going with her. I hardly ever leave reviews but Dr Louie really deserves my review because she's been wonderful to me and my Family and I'm grateful that God allow me to find a dentist like her. My first visit with Dr Louie was amazing! She's the first dentist that actually took the time to show me how to properly brush my teeth and floss. Although I'm a grown woman I had no idea I was brushing my teeth wrong! She explained throughly what dental care I need and was honest. I recommend going here 100%.

I am one if those people who get very nervous & anxious with dentist. And i can honestly say that i was not nervous when i walked into the office. There was a good positive vibe & the receptionist was great. Very thorough with their explanations & they seen me that same day with my dental emergency. The dentist May Louise was very gentle & kind with me. I can actually say for once in my life that i look forward to my next appointment
