Dr. Bluhm has practiced oral and maxillofacial surgery in Loudoun County since 1994. After completing his undergraduate studies at Middlebury College, he attended dental school at the University of North Carolina and received his training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Medical College of Virginia and Virginia Commonwealth University. Since he and his family settled in Loudoun, he has been active both professionally and in the community.

Dr. Bluhm is well-trained in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including the surgical removal of teeth, oral and facial trauma, and management of oral pathology. He has a special interest in dental implant and reconstructive surgery. He is board certified, achieving his status as a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1996. Dr. Bluhm is also certified in both basic life support and advanced cardiac life support.

Dr. Bluhm is on the medical staff at INOVA Loudoun Hospital Center. He is a member of multiple local, state and national dental professional organizations. With his partners, he serves as co-director of the Greater Loudoun Study Club, a local organization dedicated to the continuing education of our local dental community.

Music is a passion for Dr. Bluhm. He is an accomplished trumpet player and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in music prior to attending dental school. He performs with the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra and has been a member of that group since 2006. He also plays with and is co-founder of the Saturday Morning Brass Project, a brass ensemble consisting of professional and accomplished amateur brass musicians. Dr. Bluhm is also an avid tennis player and cyclist. He can be found several days a week at Ida Lee tennis center or on the bike trails and country roads of Loudoun county.

Dr. Bluhm is a member of St. Davids Episcopal Church in Ashburn, VA. He is actively involved with the music ministry and international outreach. He has participated in five mission trips to Honduras, working with children at an orphanage and school in the capital city, Tegucigalpa.

Dr. Bluhm feels truly blessed to be able to live and work in Loudoun County. As an oral surgeon, he also feels honored to be entrusted with the care of the wonderful people of this community, and he has thoroughly enjoyed the relationships that he has had with his patients over the years.

Dr. Dorsch is a dual-degree, Board-Certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who has practiced in Northern Virginia since 1999. He thoroughly enjoys practicing all aspects of oral surgery, especially cosmetic and reconstructive implant surgery, including bone and soft tissue grafting procedures.

Dr. Dorsch grew up in northern New Jersey. He received his bachelors degree in biology from the University of South Carolina and then pursued a dental degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He specialized in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia and completed a full-scope residency program. He also obtained his medical degree and completed an anesthesiology internship at the Medical College of Virginia.

Dr. Dorsch is dedicated to providing the highest quality patient care possible. He regularly attends continuing education seminars to bring the most advanced knowledge and newest techniques to his practice. As co-founder and co-director of the Greater Loudoun Study Club, Dr. Dorsch also sponsors speakers from all over the country to increase the overall knowledge of the dental community, focusing on the continued improvement of patient care. Dr. Dorsch actively lectures on dental implants and grafting procedures, emergencies in the dental office, the management of wisdom teeth, and innovations in oral and maxillofacial surgery technology.

Dr. Dorschs extensive training in anesthesiology provides patients with a full range of office anesthetic options, as well as surgery in local hospitals. Dr. Dorsch lives in Waterford with his wife, Lee, who is an anesthesiologist, and their five children: Ryan, Paul, Eric, Will, and Abby.

Dr. Dorsch enjoys many outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, camping and skiing. He also likes playing sports with his children, such as baseball, soccer, golf, tennis and skiing. He says he enjoys most activities as long as they include his family.

Dr. Vandervort has been with Loudoun Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 2009. He takes pride in our great health care team, which boasts six employees who have been with the practice for between 10 and 25 years each. He likes to say, Good, caring people want to work with good, caring doctors to help people. Dr. Vandervort has regularly volunteered his surgical services at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic since 2009, and before that at the Chesapeake Care Clinic from 20052009.

Dr. Vandervort received his bachelors degree in biology from Loyola University Chicago in 1983 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois in 1987. He entered the US Navy as a general dentist in 1989. While in the Navy, Dr. Vandervort received his medical degree from Georgetown University. He then completed his internship in general surgery and residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the National Naval Medical Center Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Vandervort also completed a fellowship in facial cosmetic surgery under Dr. Robert Alexander in Seattle, Washington.

Dr. Vandervort retired from the US Navy after 20 years with the rank of Captain. During his service, he deployed to the Persian Gulf as a dentist onboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) in support of Operation Southern Watch in 1993, and then again in 2002 onboard USS George Washington (CVN-73) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as the ships oral surgeon. Dr. Vandervort also served as the director for oral and maxillofacial surgery residency training at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA from 20042008. He will always be grateful for the opportunity to provide care to the finest people in the United States of America.

Dr. Vandervort was raised in Joliet, Illinois. He attended Joliet West High School, where he met his wife, Lisa, during his junior year and asked her to the homecoming dance. They have been together since 1977. Together they have raised three wonderful children. When away from the office he enjoys spending time with his family, fitness training, gardening, and playing his guitar.
