It's hard to know where to begin but 1st I want to validate the review made 5 months ago that also gave this establishment 1 star, I have had similar experiences on multiple occasions in the past few to several years. But this dental practices issues extend FAR BEYOND poor administrative skills, the lack of of oversight is mind blowing. Although I had prior issues with this place, due to insurance restraints I don't have much of a choice in where I go but thought "well atleast I have somewhere to go for basic dental needs that'll take care of cleanings, x-rays, fillings and/or crowns if need be" but I was Wrong! If I would have received Proper Care approximately 1 year and 4 months ago I would be a healthier person today. Because of cavity that they claimed didn't need immediate attention at the beginning of last year which abscessed in March just a couple months later, I have developed a string of illnesses that dominoed from that point forward. First off they allowed me to continue on with an abscessed tooth for 3 months and blamed my insurance for it. First they prescribed an antibiotic that's generally only given to individuals that are allergic to amoxicillin which I am not and secondly the dose that was prescribed wasn't near what was needed to treat the infection that caused my tooth to abscess and after taking this antibiotic for 7 days the pain from the abscess hadn't even come close stopping, so I called and left multiple messages which took several days for them to get back in touch with me (which by the way didn't occur until after I called another office associated with them located in Farragut that I explained my circumstances to) and when they called me back they said that couldn't prescribe me anything else because my insurance wouldn't allow it nor would they prescribe me anything for pain.. And to make matters worse I later found out that the tooth that they were treating wasn't the one that was actually abscessed which should've been easy to see considering the x-rays they took to access the problem I was having. The abscess was tooth 21 but they were assessing tooth 19 which did need to be crowned and was so in June (again bare in mind my issues started in March). After calling another dentist that does not except my insurance I was prescribed the proper antibiotic for tooth 21's abscess which was later pulled and I now have an implant in place that of course Loudon Family Dentistry did not do (even though they claim to do implants they didn't for me and referred me to another practice that didn't take my insurance). After having tooth 21 removed I knew I had to have 19 crowned so because of my insurance, even though I was apprehensive about going back I decided to go back to Loudon Family Dentistry and go thru the process of getting tooth 19 crowned, which 1st required removing decay of course but extra long story short once I FINALLY got this tooth crowned, in June 3 months after my problem began, crowned tooth 19 abscessed because the crown was put on WITHOUT REMOVING ALL OF THE DECAY!!!! So $12, 0000 dollars later I have a bridge and an implant that of course Loudon Family Dentistry could or would not do, I'll never know the truth I'm sure but along with now being in debt I also have health problems that multiple doctors are still trying to figure out how to treat but all the doctors I've seen since conclude that my dental issues are what caused a chain reaction in the decline of my health (those doctors include a hematologist, 2 different ENTS, a rheumatologist, and my primary care physician). Loudon Family Dentistry should be investigated for fraud at very least!!!

I am really not one for writing reviews but I feel like my experience here would be helpful for people to know. I have gone to this dentist office for quite a few years now and I will say the dentists and hygienists do a wonderful job! However, the receptionist is where the problems are. I tried to schedule an appointment here back in 2019 when I showed up for my appointment the receptionist said they don't take my insurance which was weird because I had asked prior on the phone if they did and she confirmed with me that they did but it wasn't a big deal to me at the time i considered it an honest mistake and I drove back home (I live almost an hour away) As I was almost home I received a call from the receptionist saying sorry I made a mistake we actually do take your insurance and asked if I wanted to come back in but I told her I was almost home and because I live an hour away I wouldn't have time to come back in so I decided to just reschedule my appointment, the next appointment I went to was later on in 2020 I confirmed the date and time and put it in my calendar and when I showed up for the appointment there was a sign on the door stating that they were closed (because of covid hours) for the day but I received no notice about them being closed or about my appointment being cancelled. I called and the receptionist apologized and said she must have forgot to call me and told me i could reschedule again but I wasn't sure when I would be able to make it in next so i decided to postpone it yet again. Today I called to try and make an appointment multiple times and kept getting sent to voicemail, then finally after calling multiple times during business hours the receptionist answered and put me on hold for over 10 minutes just pick back up the phone to tell me she didn't have time to speak to me because she was on hold with an insurance company, I explained to her that I had work and wouldn't be able to call her back so I just wanted her to take my name and number to make me an appointment time and she said no she could not do that and was unwilling to help me make an appointment even though this is the only time off I have to make one . All of these instances combined make feel like this office is extremely unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone despite the actual dentists and hygienists being great.
