We strive to be the most trusted practice for all your oral surgery needs, from the simplest to the most complex.

As a practice, we have a stellar reputation for addressing even the most complicated cases and striving for optimal outcomes. To do that, we lean heavily on the skill and knowledge of our surgeons, all of whom are board-certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Each of our doctors are well-respected in their field and are committed to providing customized care to safeguarding patient comfort and safety.

Our oral surgeons treat various conditions, ranging from tooth loss to jaw alignment issues and facial trauma to chronic TMJ pain. Our team comprises in-house anesthesiologists, specialized surgical assistants, and knowledgeable treatment coordinators, each invaluable to our practice. With over 60 years of collective experience, we are proud to be leaders in oral surgery worldwide, offering our skills in dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, jaw reconstruction surgery, oral pathology, and more.

Our full operating facilities allow us to run four anesthesia machines and maintain levels of cleanliness and sterilization that run-of-the-mill dental practices simply cannot match. These high standards of patient safety make us a preferred provider of pediatric oral surgery, as parents entrust us with the health and wellbeing of their kids. Notably, our facilities enable us to achieve accreditation with the Joint Commission, an honor usually reserved for hospitals that promote high standards of anesthesia care, hygiene, and general surgical safety.

At LA-COMS, we have always been committed to world-class technology, allowing us to provide surgical solutions as safely and efficiently as possible. With our technology, we can perform procedures that other oral surgeons cannot match, which means we can tackle the cases other providers will not take. In addition, our focus on virtual surgery planning enables us to provide truly customized solutions, allowing you to feel confident and in control of your surgical outcomes.

After graduating from Yeshiva University in Manhattan in 1997 with a degree in biology, Dr.Kupferman went straight into dental school. In 2001, he graduated from Harvard School of Dental Medicine with his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree. To increase his knowledge and level of care, Dr. Kupferman continued his education by attending medical school at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. After graduating with his medical degree, he completed a general surgery internship.

Following the completion of his medical degree and general surgery internship, Dr. Kupferman remained at UCLA to finish his oral and maxillofacial training. During his residency, he trained alongside surgeons and anesthesiologists in the treatment of a full range of oral and facial treatments and the administration of anesthesia.

Dr. Kupferman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and a fellow of the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons. In addition, Dr. Kupferman is a clinical faculty member of the Division of Otolaryngology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where he has the opportunity to teach residents.

Dr. Steven Kupferman was born in southern California and was happy to move back after his education to practice in Los Angeles. Growing up, Dr. Kupferman knew he wanted to go to dental school after his uncle, a dentist, served as a type of mentor. He pursued oral surgery when he realized he could make a bigger difference and provide patients with a more effective change.

Dr. Kupferman enjoys experiencing the appreciation his patients express after treatment. He likes the feeling of being a specialist, and his focus on jaw surgery and treatment of jaw dysfunction allows him to provide patients with care that not everyone can offer.

After studying biology and philosophy at the University of Nebraska, Dr. Walline decided to listen to his mothers advice and attend his schools College of Dentistry. In 2000, he graduated from his fathers alma mater with his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. After earning his dental degree, he chose to continue his education by completing medical school as well. He earned his medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in 2004. As a dual-degree oral surgeon, Dr. Walline felt hed be able to provide his patients with the most comprehensive care.

Dr. Walline stayed at UCLA to complete his oral and maxillofacial residency. He trained with surgeons and anesthesiologists for years to learn about the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery and the safe administration of anesthesia. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Wallines interest and focus has always been on corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery). His practice is currently limited to corrective jaw surgery.

Dr. Walline is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and a fellow of the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons. In addition, Dr. Walline is a clinical faculty member of the Division of Otolaryngology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where he has the opportunity to teach residents.

Outside of work, Dr. Walline enjoys spending time with his twin sons and going to their soccer games to support them. He also likes spending time participating in outdoor sports, such as snowboarding and surfing. He loves traveling and even takes his spare time to volunteer his surgical services in other countries.

Dr. Benjamin Walline was inspired to pursue a dental career by his father, who was a dentist, and his mother, who suggested he follow in his fathers footsteps. It was easy for Dr. Walline to choose oral and maxillofacial surgery once he attended dental school because he was attracted to all aspects of the specialty, but was the most drawn to corrective jaw surgery. After working with Dr. Kupferman at Kaiser, he decided to switch to private practice because he liked the idea of being able to perform both office-based and hospital-based procedures.

Dr. Wallines favorite thing about being an oral surgeon is the effect he can have on patients lives. More specifically, he loves how much he can help jaw patients who may not feel comfortable with their appearance. He can get to know patients and pay careful attention to their goals and then provide them with optimal results, giving them a reason to smile and feel more confident in themselves.

Dr. Relle grew up in South Bend, Indiana. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University, and he continued his education at Indiana University School of Dentistry. He came to Southern California for his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and then chose to stay in the area.

Dr. Relle is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Dr. Relle is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He is a former examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a past reviewer for the American Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.

When he is not working, Dr. Relle enjoys all of the outdoor activities that Southern California has to offer, including cycling, hiking, and watersports. He also sets aside time to mentor pre-doctoral students with a career interest in oral and maxillofacial surgery at USC and UCLA, and he co-chairs the Dentofacial Conference in Graduate Orthodontics at USC.

Dr. Relle was attracted to oral and maxillofacial surgery jaw surgery specifically while in dental school. Oral surgeon mentors during dental school inspired him with the profound impact that corrective jaw surgery had on their patients quality of life. After residency, he spent the first 23 years of his career as a staff oral surgeon in a large hospital-based group practice where he had an opportunity to gain broad experience in many disciplines of major oral and maxillofacial surgery. Over 10 years ago he chose to move into private practice and to focus on corrective jaw surgery which has always been his passion. Dr. Relle sincerely enjoys getting to know his patients and collaborating with practitioners throughout the dental and medical profession in delivering the highest possible standard of care.

This place is delusional with their American price gouging and they cannot lift a finger to make anything happen in a reasonable amount of time. Overly greedy American healthcare. Go pay out of pocket somewhere else.

The LACOMS office is one of the nicest offices I've ever been too. The staff are very friendly, and welcomed me with warm open arms. I needed to have 3 of my wisdom teeth removed, and Janet was able to squeeze me into their schedule last minute; and have the doctors agree to remove the teeth the same day. Dr. Lee and Dr. Kholaki are too of the best doctors out there. They met with me after I took my X-ray to discuss the best plan with me for the removal and to make sure I was aware of what was going to go on. When it was time to go into the surgery, Theresa was so friendly and helpful; she took me to the back made sure i was comfortable on the chair and called the doctor to let them know i was ready. Dr. Kholaki came in he made sure to confirm I was the right person and what procedure we where doing before starting anything. Overall my experience with the LACOMS staff was very pleasant and I will definitely be recommending them to anyone in the future.

Ive had TMD for a couple years but it was never an issue until last year. My right TMD got so bad I could not chew or talk. I looked for help endlessly and every dentist / doctor I came across told me to stay on an liquid diet and rest. This obviously didn't fix anything I was in pain and in desperate need for help. Luckily last year around October I met someone who had gone through a similar experience as mine. She recommended Dr. Lee at LACOMS. I immediately called the next day to schedule an appointment. I was so excited to meet Dr.Lee and his staff. Within a couple weeks I finally met Dr. Lee . He was super nice and he answered all my questions. He took his time , he did not rush me and he cared most importantly. I felt like I was in great hands so we scheduled my surgery . I finally had an arthroplasty (right side) on Feb 2022 . It's now going to be November . Dr. Lee I am so thankful for everything you did . You gave me my life back . I can eat and talk . Thank you so much Dr. Lee and also thank you to LACOMS for always treating me amazing Dr . Lee is the best ! If you have jaw issues please schedule an appointment with him .

I could not have asked for a better experience, especially for the situation I had come to this office with. I had the misfortune of dealing with a botched surgical removal of an impacted tooth with another dentist. The incident left me with 7mm of the tooth's root in a pocket below my tongue near the lingual nerve. I had been sent on roundabouts through multiple surgeons all with less than favorable reactions and recommendations. I had only three options; leave the root and risk infection, cut from the outside of my lower jaw and be left with a scar for life, or cut from the inside and risk loosing feeling in my tongue. Dr. Omar, Lee, Kupferman, and their team at LACOMS were professional and reassuring throughout my ordeal and were confident they could remove it from the inside. I went into the surgery fully accepting the fact that I may lose the feeling in my tongue or have a scar from then on. After a 2 hour long surgery I woke up without the feeling of a cut on my face, and I had complete feeling in my tongue. I was so happy it was finally over and I could continue my life without those what ifs. I highly recommend LACOMS, and I am thankful for them saving me from my nightmare!

Doctor Jay.K.Lee is quite professional and gentle , he suggested us to come and have another accurate inspect once my kid grows up and finishes the growth of low jaw, then that would be the best time to decide the surgery way .

Few people wake up in the morning and say "I'm looking forward to having my tooth extracted today." Should I require another extraction, I'll happily visit Dr. Steve Kupferman at the Los Angeles Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Kupferman and his staff were very accommodating, professional, and easygoing. I was impressed with the state of the art surgical facility. It's well beyond what I expected and adds a layer of comfort to the entire process. As far as the extraction is concerned. Honestly, the process takes about 10 minutes and is totally pain free. Between Dr Kupferman and surgical assistant Val, they have the process down like an impressive dance. Before you know it, they're done and you go about your day. For those of you who are trepidatious about having a tooth pulled, there's really nothing to be worried or scared of. Pain free and enjoyable conversion and it's over.

After falling and smashing my face on a concrete curb, I was lucky to find LACOMS. Dr Jay Lee saw me right away, calmed me down and put my teeth back where they belonged. Dr Brittany Sonnichsen did the follow up procedure. Both doctors and their staff couldn't have been kinder and the outcome couldn't have been better.

Amazing treatment overall, barely any wait time, amazing doctors and nurses as well. Would recommend to anyone to go here 10/10 customer service and even free hand sanitizers. Super sweet people and they make you feel like you're at home. If you don't go see them it's your loss because they are the best in the best. Especially the nurses, Dr.Kholaki, and the anesthesiologist. Amazing service.

I can't say enough good things about my experience getting jaw surgery at LACOMS. Dr. Walline and Dr. Relle are unbelievably good at what they do, and also so kind and honest. Dr. Walline was my primary surgeon and I am beyond happy about what he was able to achieve in my case. I had a complex case and he seemed 100% confident about the plan, but also not arrogant at all and patiently answered my long list of questions at every appointment. In terms of the results, I think he totally underpromised and overdelivered, and I also had the easiest, fastest recovery I could have asked for. Jacquie is also one of the kindest people I've ever met, she goes so above and beyond for patients. She helped me through some of the hard moments of uncertainty and fear before the surgery, and shared my happiness when everything went well. I would highly, highly recommend Dr. Walline and the entire team at LACOMS - first for their incredible skill, and also for their kindness and the way they treat patients. I am a few months post op and I still get emotional thinking about how much they helped me. I know in time this will become the "new normal" but I will never forget this experience and will also have the benefits of the surgery for the rest of my life. "Thank you" doesn't begin to express my gratitude.

I had a successful revision with Dr. Walline and couldn't be happier. Before getting into details I will say not all doctors are equal, there is a wide dispersion among both the skill and treatment philosophy out there. I had to learn this the hard way through personal experience, and as someone who went through two jaw surgeries I can compare one big city hospital against LACOMS, and I can tell you that you're getting the absolute best care here. All the minute details, from anesthesia to your movements are meticulously taken care of. I'm sure as a patient I don't even realize the magnitude since a lot of the work is behind the scenes and in the operating room. For my specifics, I had a revision double jaw surgery. My first operation had some nerve complications which probably made this revision above average in complexity. I went on several consultations and really liked everything about LACOMS including their treatment plan. And they delivered. My function, bite and appearance all improved. The bite was perfect after surgery, my braces were taken off in my first appointment. Lastly, Jacquie and the rest of the staff are great, I had some unusual scheduling and insurance issues and they were beyond helpful and accommodating.

I had my second surgery with Dr. Kupferman this week following an auto accident in April. My jaw which had broken was now healed and Dr. Kupferman removed two metal plates and eight screws holding my jaw together. A complicated surgery but everything went very well. With Dr. Kupferman in charge I was not worried. He followed up the same evening and was very patient with my questions. Thank you to all of his team: Paula, Atalie, Edgar, Ruth, Nancy, Haira and Carmen. I know that I'm in good hands with LACOMS

Dr, Kupferman squeezed me into his busy schedule to pull my unbearably uncomfortable molar. I have complete faith in him as a doctor and my experience with the office and nurses was excellent. They went out of their way to make me comfortable and to make sure my implant procedure was successful. I highly recommend Dr. Kupferman's team!!

Dr. Kupferman and his team are amazing! My son needed an extraction to make room for braces. At the first consult, we received excellent care, detailed information about the treatment, and felt 100% confident that my son would be comfortable throughout the procedure. And we were not disappointed. Now, a few years later, when it was time to take out my son's wisdom teeth, I wouldn't think of going to anyone else. The office is friendly, immaculate, and comfortable. Dr. Kupferman is fantastic; and anesthesiologist Dr. Richard Tamman was attentive and provided excellent care. Thank you LACOMS, Atalie, and the entire staff.

Dr Kholaki is the best! Saw him on Thursday, wisdom teeth removed on Monday, no pain afterwards! The worst part is the IV to put you to sleep but its all smooth sailing from there! Personally, did not need to use pain meds and felt fine afterwards. Healing process was very easy and clean. The entire staff is just a joy to work with from the front office to the nurses to the doctors.
