Lorna Lally DMD is a comprehensive general dentistry office which proudly treatspatients of all ages. Dr. Lally took over the practice over 10 years agoand we have been growingand serving the community ever since.
We understand that adental officewouldn't rank very high on a list of favorite places to visitso we have worked hard to ensure that our office is modern and welcoming and our team inviting and warm. Our new space has allowed us to increase our hours to better suit your busy scheduleas well as ensuring we have the most up-to-date technology.
We pride ourselves on working for you andyour individual dental needs. We will provide you with comprehensive information about your dental health and make recommendations that are in your best interest, not in the interest of the dentist's pocket. We have foundthat such a partnership between provider and patient encourages a more comfortable experience and better awareness of the reasons behind treatment decisions.
Dr. Lally has owned and grown this practice for the last 10 years and her success is due in equal parts to her calming andcompassionatepersonality, impeccable restoration work, and a focus on patient-centered care. She completed her first dental degreein Ireland and then attended Tufts University of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Lally isan active supporter of both her patients, and the Somerville community at large. When she is not at the office, you will likely find her spending time with her three children and husband, or sneaking in some quiet time with yoga ora podcast.
Dr. Dautaj is originally from Albania where she attended the University of Tirana's School of Dental Medicine. She has been a practicing dentist in the USA for many years after completing her DMD at the University of Connecticut and a further residency here in Boston at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard University School of Dental Medicine. She holds memberships with the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society.
We employ three amazing hygienists: Lobsang, Maria and Audra. Each of these ladies is fully certified and share over 25 years of experience between them. They will give you tips for your home care and discuss the importance of nutrition and your dental health.

Amazing people work here and amazing job they do! I'm happy I decided to go here the first time, and I just got amazed with their customer service from the moment you open the door until the moment you are leaving. Awesome job Jensy you're amazing.

Dr lally and her team are so kind and accommodating; I had a lot of anxiety about getting fillings and going to the dentist in general and they made me feel safe and comfortable. I also have issues with noises etc and they gave me some suggestions to help deal with it. All of the dentists and hygienists clearly care a lot about my comfort and wellbeing, and they have also really helped my teeth. I would definitely recommend this dentist if you are nervous or need some extra support in general. Very efficient, caring, and polite. Thank you

I started going to this practice recently after a friend recommended it to me. I hadn't seen a dentist in quite a few years and was worried anyplace I went would just try to sell me any service they could. I really don't feel that way at all so far here! Dr. Dautaj and the rest of the staff are very polite and helpful. As another reviewer mentioned, they gave me good advice without making me feel stupid. The hygienist did a great job; very thorough but gentle.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. First they do amazing work, I have never had an issue after being seen here. But what is most important to me is how they treat you. They educate you on better care practices without making you feel like you're in trouble. They make sure you are comfortable! I recently got really sick which has lead to a lot of anxiety that I've never experienced before. I was very nervous about getting my dental work done but they did everything they can to help me through it, including breaks to let me sit up and relax for a moment, talking me through the process and just being very comforting. I moved this year but I will always make the drive to this place if I still live in MA, I cannot give them high enough praises. If u need a dentist, this is the spot!

Terribly bad experience. I was convinced first by Doctor Maria that I need to do four deep cleaning. But in my third visit,doctor was changed without any explanation and the third and fourth cleaning was done in one go with much more pain and bleeding in comparable time to each of the last two visit. Afterwas, the teeth was terribly sensitive than the ones done in the first two times. The inconsistent and differed effects suggest they are not care about their patient and unprofessional. Furthermore, I was charged in advance immediately after the visiting, but turned to be that I don't need to pay that much and was told "It's better to pay today" when it asked if I could pay when the bill comes from the insurance company!!! Later, I called back to ask why the final bill not matching the money I paid, I was told "we are not trying to keep anyone's money" and no apology for their unprofessional way when finally money needed to be returned. Highly suspicious about the close to 5 star comments! Avoid this one if you have other recomondation from freind's. Started to find another new one. But if you have no choice, unfortunately, always ask Doctor Maria to do your cleaning!

For my first visit as a new patient, everything goes kind of okay until asking me to pay the bills. My insurance is really good and could cover a lot of service. But I just couldn't expect it charges me 40s bucks for my first visit, which is just annual oral evaluation and teeth clean(not deep clean). They sent me the bill just a few days after visiting without any details about what this fee is charged for!!! And they replied me back with just total nonsense reason first time when I sent email to ask for details. They finally gave the 'reasonable' reason for this bill. It turns out instead of regular teeth clean, they did full mouth debridement, which is not 100% covered by my insurance. However, the doctor didn't emphasize my teeth cleaning is not regular clean. And I didn't feel much difference from regular clean, which made me shocked when I received the bill. All in all, the service itself is okay. But I feel they're very unprofessional when they come to charge you.

I was horrified by the rudeness of the office staff. They will give attitude if they feel like you have inconvenienced them. With so many other choices for dentists in the area, I highly recommend avoiding this one.

Dr. Lally, Dr. Dautaj, and the whole staff are extremely kind, knowledgeable, so very honest ! ("no that stain is not a cavity your teeth are fine" -- which I know from experience many other dentists would have unfortunately recommended), and all around a pleasure to interact with. On the occasional conversation they're even quite fun and engaging, and always so very professional. I moved and yet I have continued to go to their practice and I hope to continue to.

The nicest, most caring, most competent dentistry I've had in my life! Had some fairly major work done here, but my need for even fillings has gone way down since joining the practice eight years ago. They helped me get better daily habits, which is so key to good health!

I just love this place. I am a very anxious patient and hate anything to do with the dentist, and they are so awesome; they make what can be a very negative experience in to one that is relaxing, gentle, and very informative - I feel like they are on my team and supporting me on my path to better dental health. The staff are all extremely friendly and do a great job of walking you through each step and keeping you relaxed during dental procedures. They also have great music in the office! I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Supremely positive experience all around. From the Dentists themselves to the Hygienists and Receptionists, everyone is extremely friendly, professional, and most of all, efficient. Dr. Lorna Lally's office provides a level of excellence hard to match. Going to the Dentist isn't always the most pleasant of adventures, but everyone in their office absolutely goes out of their way to make sure you're comfortable.
