Dr. Lopez is a leading dentist in the Santa Barbara area with expertise in family and childrens dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, and more. Our dental hygienists have all mastered the art of gently and effectively providing your teeth with the deepest clean possible. Our dental assistants are skilled, knowledgeable, and caring, and our front desk staff will serve you in an efficient, friendly manner to expedite your experience at our office. Additionally, our entire team understands the importance of continuing education (CE). For that reason, we complete many hours of CE courses every year. We do this to stay on top of the latest advances and technology in our field in order to bring exceptional care to our patients.
Dr. Lopez takes tremendous care in providing the best treatment plan for each of her patients. This begins with a comprehensive examination and a thorough explanation of the treatment options. She understands that each patients case is unique and takes time to fully explain the treatment options after understanding all of the factors involved, including cosmetic and restorative needs, as well as time and financial considerations.
Dr. Lopez attended UCSB for her undergraduate education, and later graduated Cum Laude from the UCLA School of Dentistry. She is a member if the Omicrom Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. While at UCLA she received numerous awards for her academic and clinic skills.
Dr. Stefanie Lopez considers herself a life long learner and is always looking for opportunities to gain knowledge of new materials and techniques. She has completed and continues to participate in numerous hours of continuing education from associations such as the UCLA dental school, the Scottsdale Center for Dental Education, the Santa Barbara/Ventura Dental Society, and the California Dental Society in order to offer her patients the outstanding care they deserve.
She enjoys providing high-quality restorative and preventive dental care, along with cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign orthodontic treatment. Her professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and the Frank Spear Study Club.
Dr. Lopez also strongly believes in giving back to the community, both here in Santa Barbara and also abroad. She has volunteered at the Eastside Dental Clinic, the Indian Dental Services Clinic and also provides education to children in the Santa Barbara and Goleta school districts. Additionally she has volunteered with the Flying Samaritans.
Dr. Lopez currently resides in Santa Barbara with her husband, Ruben, and their two daughters, Aleja and Catalin, who both attend Peabody Charter School. She is an enthusiastic traveler, loves reading, running on the beach and gardening.

Front staff is rude. Called to ask for insurance coverage and all she did is turn me away. So yes I will go somewhere else!

Exceptional care!!! Dr. Lopez has gone great lengths to help me with my pain. She is smart, gentle, and honest. So are the dental hygienist. Her team is courteous and efficient. They are so great that I have recommend many of my friends, who also love the care they received.

I've been a patient here for a few years, and I've got nothing but good things to say. I tend to get a bit nervous around dental stuff, but Dr. Lopez and her staff have been incredibly wonderful. Everyone is very kind, and they really know how to make you feel comfortable. High quality care from a really excellent team.

Unfortunately I put the time of my appointment in the calendar incorrectly and missed my appointment which was totally my fault, however the receptionist who called me to inform me was extremely rude and told me how I should have called them to let them know that I would miss my appointment which is something I definitely would have done had I known the correct time. She then explained to me how lists work and hung up on me. Definitely will not be scheduling another appointment with them.

Dr. Lopez is a kind, welcoming, and excellent dentist. She treats my 1.5 year-old, 3.5 year old, and me with loving care. Her office is super clean, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable. I am also very grateful for the hygienist, Edie, and front desk manager, Grace. They are all friendly and loving people that we trust with our dental care.
