Dr. Knechtel has been practicing dentistry for 26 years. He received his degree at Oregon Health Science University in 1995. After college, this former Longmont High School graduate, returned home to start his practice. Dr. Knechtel likes to remain on the cutting edge of dentistry and continually looks for ways to improve the patient experience. He has added to his credentials by getting extra training in implant placement and orthodontics in addition to his original degree.
He is loves spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He enjoys traveling and spending time in the outdoors. He is also an avid fly fisherman and occasionally brings back pictures of his trophy fish to give proof of his fishing stories.
Kristi has been working in the dental field for over 30 years. Originally trained in dental assisting, Kristis knowledge of dental procedures, dedicationto our patients, and tenacious ability in managing insurance issues has made her an invaluable asset to our practice. Kristi has been working with Dr. Knechtel for 25 years.
In her spare time, Kristi loves home remodeling projects, spendingtime with her 2 children and 3 grandchildren. She also enjoysspending time with her husband snowmobiling, dirt biking and hangingout on the Western Slope.
Zana hails from Olympia Washington where she received her dental assistant training in 1997. Her warm and bubbly personality makes her great with our patients and fun to work with. When Zana is not in the office, you can find her enjoying the beautiful Colorado outdoors with her family and friends. She loves hiking, skiing, mountain biking and back country camping.
I am a Colorado native and love all the beauty Colorado offers. I have two amazing kids Ella and Decker. We love to travel and spend time with our families. Im a big football fan and enjoy going to the CU Buffs games. I also like to play sports whether its softball, volleyball, or a game of cornhole!
Having grown up with dentistry in my family, I knew since I was 9 years old that I was destined to be in a dental office. After receiving my BSDH degree from Wichita State University, I began working as dental hygienist. For the past 10 years, I have been able to improve my patients health through their smiles. Each patient has brought a unique perspective to my day and getting to know my awesome patients has been the best part of my job (although I do love getting a good piece of calculus off of a tooth)!
I am a 4th generation native to Colorado. I am an auntie to bunch of nieces and nephews. I love to travel, watch Denver Broncos football and Wichita State Basketball. Go Shockers! I enjoy live music and all things beauty related. Being an animal advocate is a huge passion of mine and I have three awesome dogs, 2 boxers named Mocha and Molly and a Pomeranian named Teddy.

After a terrible and painful experience with another dentist, I made an appointment with Dr Knechtels office and felt a tad apprehensive. It ended up being completely unfounded. Every good review on here is true. Kristi at the front was so warm and friendly and easy to talk to. Zana was my hygienist and she was also amazingly friendly and thoroughly listened to my situation. Dr Knechtel came in right away and explained exactly what had happened to my tooth and how he would fix it. At 35 years old, I got my very first filling and it was somehow a wonderful experience that left me giddy at the end because I couldn't believe how pain free and fast it was. I'm recommending them to everyone. This is an A+ office and a model for how other dentists should operate!!

My husband and I have been patients of Dr Kurt's for about 15 years, he is truly the best dentists we have ever had. He delivers pain-free, quality, and caring dentistry and more. Unfortunately, we both need quite a bit of work these days, implants for each of us, root canals, crowns, guards, etc. It is always an enjoyable visit to the office; everyone is so friendly. Kristi, the office manager, is amazing and so helpful, she provided encouragement to help me want to quit smoking in April. Zana is an awesome assistant and so sweet, she comforted me during a recent extraction, that didn't hurt at all, I was just nervous. Kalea is a fantastic hygienist; she loves what she does and does it very well. We highly recommend Dr. Kurt and his staff. Do yourself and your family a favor and book an appointment today!

I'm a BIG BABY when it comes to the dentist, but Dr Knechtel and his team have been my dental provider for 10 years because of their "no judgment", light touch, modern technology, and excellent follow-up care. I recommend them to any and everyone whenever I can. If you're in need of a new dentist, or a more gentle dentist, I cannot recommend Dr. Knechtel and his team more highly! This is the best dentist office that I have ever been to. I absolutely adore everyone that works at the office. They are so kind and efficient. I came in with quite the list of things to get fixed and they have patiently helped me knock them out one by one. I recommend this office to anyone who needs dental work. They are just fabulous and I honestly can't say enough good things about them.

Love everybody in the office!!! From the time you walk into the office you are treated like family. I had 2 implants put in and a crown - absolutely no pain !! They have all the latest technology . They were able to do my crown in one visit. Melissa was so nice and pleasant Dr Kurt is so kind and listens to all my questions. I highly recommend this office

I first started seeing Dr. Knechtel about eight years ago. I came as a scared patient who had a fear of dentists because my body burns through novocaine and most doctors did not believe me. I've always had crooked teeth and many tight spots so I ended up with the need for some crowns and fillings. I contacted Kristi (office manager and awesome lady) who assured me Dr. Knechtel is gentle, listens and will be able to help. AND HELP HE DID! Here I am, eight years later, with straight teeth now! Dr. Knechtel is kind, patient and listens. I no longer fear the dentist and I even opted to get braces because of the trust I've developed over the years. His staff is the tops and there is no staff turn-over like the dentists I've seen in the past. If you have dentist fears this is the man to go to. I'm forever grateful I contacted Kristi eight years ago and came in. Dr. Knechtel and his team are the best and have converted me from a scared patient with crooked teeth to a calm patient with straight teeth. I cannot thank them enough.

I'm 73 years old and I've been to a lot of dentists in my life but I've never been to anyone as good as Dr. Knechtel!!! He's kind, caring, knowledgeable an friendly. He and his staff make you feel like family! His staff from Kristi at the front desk to his assistants Zana and Melissa to Kylea the "tooth cleaner" they're all irreplaceable. BEST in the business!! I always look forward to seeing all of them and to a painfree experience. I highly recommend them to everyone!! You will never find anyone better.

I have been to a number of dentists and dental offices in my lifetime. And since I began coming Dr. Knechtel and Longmont Dental, I can confidently say that they are the best of the best. Kristi at the front desk can handle any insurance or billing questions. Melissa, Zana and Kylea work wonders with technology and equipment. And Dr. Kurt has never met a tooth or a question that he can't handle. I will continue to visit them with confidence for years to come.

My son is 3.5 and had his first cleaning visit with Kylea. He was so brave and got to pick out 2 toys afterwards. He said he loves going to the dentist. The whole team made his experience great. My husband and I have been coming here for years as well! Love the staff and atmosphere is so nice!

After several years of treatment for my family, I can easily say that Dr. Kurt is SUPER dentist and is my end game dentist for sure. Professional, courteous, efficient, friendly, pro skills, talented staff, all world class. But maybe those things are a given for the majority of dentists, or at least should be. What sets Dr. Kurt apart from my previous dentists (and some doctors) is how proactive he is. He will find your issues and recommend treatment before they get too bad. I had a previous dentist have to fill 50% of a tooth because they didn't catch the decay soon enough. Dr. Kurt on the other hand has replaced corroded metal fillings with the newer white resin, filled over tooth roots where gum has recessed (no gum graph required), and caught cavities before they go too bad. Root canals to fix dead teeth caused by facial trauma? No problem. He clearly thinks long term - how can I help my patients keep their teeth forever? This Dr. now has the keys to my teeth, 100% trustworthy. The only thing that sucks about Dr. Kurt is he's probably human and he'll need to retire one day and I'll have to find a worthy successor. Hopefully that day is a long ways off.

What a great experience! From the first phone call with Christie, to my first, second, and third visit with Dr. Kurt and his staff I was greeted warmly, treated kindly, and just felt taken care of. Special thanks to Zana and Kylie for being excellent caretakers! I highly recommend Dr. Kurt and his staff. Maybe a small deal, but I've never had such a positive experience receiving a numbing shot before. I almost look forward to the next one!
