Dr. Henry Long had a very particular vision when he started his dental office in Texas around 40 years ago: a place where patients could receive care and attention from an experienced dentist who held themselves to the highest standards of service while also staying comfortable the whole time. His son, Dr. Robert Long (who also goes by Dr. Bob among his patients) joined the dental office in 1995, and his younger son Dr. Chris Long (Dr. Chris) entered the family business in 2004. Today, Dr. Henry is retired, and Dr. Bob and Dr. Chris are continuing the work he started, and they look forward to carrying the family tradition of patient-centric dentistry well into the future. We currently have a second dental office in Midlothian, meaning that even more families in the DFW area have easy access to our care.
What works for our other patients may not work for you; we know this, and we pride ourselves in being flexible enough to accommodate different needs. Our treatment plans will all be fully customized depending on your needs. Not only do we account for the state of your oral health, but well also think about your personal schedule and your budget. Dental care should be affordable, comfortable, and convenient all at once, and were here to make that a reality.

The dental field is far from stagnant. It keeps changing little by little with new technology and techniques being incorporated into dental offices in order to continue providing the best care possible. From all-digital X-rays to intraoral cameras to digital impressions to custom milling, Dr. Bob and Dr. Chris keep finding new ways to improve their treatments and give their patients even more reasons to smile.
You could very well say that Dr. Bob was born to be a dentist, especially with someone like Dr. Henry Long as a father and a role model. Having been helping out at the dental office since childhood, hes always felt drawn to the healthcare field and continued to pursue it as he grew older. The positive impact his father had on other peoples lives left a deep impression on him, and he hopes to have the same sort of influence for his own patients at Long Family Dental.
Dr. Bob received his undergraduate degree at Baylor University and later earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He went to University Hospital to complete a two-year General Practice Residency; during his time there, he was trained to use IV sedation and perform advanced oral surgery. He also had the chance to work firsthand with patients who were suffering from advanced medical issues, and he learned more about various cosmetic and restorative dental treatments. He continues learning and bettering himself to this day, and he has recently completed a sinus grafting course at the Aikos Institute.
Dr. Bob enjoys spending time with Kim, his lovely wife of nearly 30 years who is a United Methodist pastor, as well as their two adult children, Becca and Zach. Whenever he has a chance to relax and enjoy himself outside of his dental office, he likes to travel, participate in church activities, hunting, and working at his familys ranch.
It wasnt just being born into a dentists family that encouraged Dr. Chris to work in oral healthcare along with his father and brother; it was also his personal interest in medicine and love of helping people. Dentistry gives him a way to channel his passions into something wonderful. Even after all these years, hes confident that he made the right choice of professions.
Dr. Chris completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology along with a minor in Chemistry while studying at the University of North Texas. He then moved on to the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in order to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery. Of course, he continues to seek advanced training whenever possible to keep his skills and knowledge as up-to-date with the ever-changing dental field as possible. Among the many courses he has completed, notable examples include root canal therapy, dental implant surgery, and cosmetic dentistry. He has also been named one of the Top 40 Dentists Under Age 40 in America in Incisal Edge Magazine!
Dr. Chris loves hanging out with his family. He and his wife Emily live with their sons Jackson and Brennan, who both want to enter the dental field themselves someday. He also likes to spend his time hunting, fishing, and playing golf whenever he has time to enjoy himself.

My family and I started using Long Family Dental over 10 years ago, they have been more than a dentist office for us they feel like an extension of our family. I myself had a great fear of dental work, but Dr Chris and his staff helped me to overcome that fear to the point where now I look forward to going to the Dentist. I feel very fortunate to call them my Dentist and even more fortunate to say they have become great friends.

Dr. Bob performed a tooth extraction and bone graft on me yesterday. I DID NOT feel any pain or discomfort. If you need any dental health that requires attention, make Long Dental your place of choice. What a great, patient, caring, and professional group!

I won't go into why but I happen to be one of those who has a lot of anxiety that is related to going to the dentist.. I have a very strong gag reflex that doesn't help matters any lol... I know the necessity of decent dental care and finally went to Long Family Dental of Midlothian. My husband already goes there but I've been resistant. From the moment I stepped inside the door to after we stepped outside the door they were great. Each of them is friendly and gentle. They seem to be quite knowledgeable about each of their specialties. They are understanding. I saw Dr. Chris and he was excellent with explaining everything to me. No pressure at all from anyone. They've got some amazing tools that help them see what they need to see lol I'm impressed and I would definitely recommend them to anyone. . :) .................. 14 June 2022 .. I am still going to Long Family Dental in Midlothian and I continue to refer them to those who ask. Everyone I've come in contact here works well with me and my anxiety.

Excellent service! Never had as thorough an exam in all my years of unwanted dental work. The staff is welcoming, the hygienist is super detailed, and the dentists are top notch! My family recently relocated to Midlothian. The search for the family dentist is complete. You will be in good hands!

I started going to Long Family Dental almost a year ago and I have had some bad dental experiences over the years and this was by far the best place I could have chosen. I love all the dentists and their staff, very friendly and caring. They do everything they can to make sure you are comfortable and at ease. They give you options for dental care, its not about the money, it is truly making sure u make the best decision for you health/dental. You won't be disappointed.

After seeing the same dentist for 20+ years, I was nervous to try a new dentist when mine retired. However, I was SUPER impressed with Long Family Dental after my sister referred me to go there. They were VERY thorough and made sure I had all my questions answered. They knew my mouth very well by the time I left, ;) and I super appreciated Stephanie's super great cleaning. Dr. Chris was very kind, super knowledgable, and even helped me know how I could prevent cavities while living overseas. The office staff was also excellent. I would highly recommend Long Family Dental and am grateful I found such a great place!

The people, from checkin to checkout and everyone in between, are so nice, compassionate, and very knowledgeable too. If you want to be treated like part of the group instead of shoved through a managed process this is the place to go. I'm amazed at how much they remember about me, my life and family with just a few visits. That truly makes me feel important and not like just another patient. I really don't like going to the dentist but Long Family Dental makes it a whole lot better than any I've experienced before. I highly recommend this practice!!

What can I not say about Long Family Dental. The keyword is FAMILY. You are treated as a part of the family with care, humbleness, and patience. They will explain the procedure to you beforehand and take any of your concerns into consideration. This is my first experience with them and will continue to use their services from this day forward. If you have an anxiety about visiting a dentist as I did, you have no worries with Long Family Dental.
