Dr. David Wu is a Board Certified Orthodontist. He earned his doctorate degree in dental surgery from New York Universitys School of Dentistry where he graduated near the top of his class and became a member of OKU (Omicron Kappa Upsilon), the National Dental Honor Society. He gained further training by completing a one year General Practice Residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and a three-year orthodontics specialty program at Albert Einstein School of Medicines Montefiore Medical Center. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Dr. Wu graduated with honors in neuroscience from Amherst College in Massachusetts.
Dr. Wu prides himself in being skilled in the latest and most advanced techniques in orthodontics including Invisalign, removable and fixed orthodontic appliances, MARA, clear ceramic braces, and temporary anchorage devices (TADs).
Dr. Wu is an affiliate of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, and a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists. He is also a member of the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce.
He became an orthodontist because he found the work to be fascinating and challenging. On a personal level, Dr. Wu feels that smiles are the best expression of happiness and seeing happy beautiful smiles keeps bringing positive energy into the world. He especially enjoys comparing the before and after photos to see the difference that orthodontic treatment can make. The most rewarding part is seeing all the time and effort result in the perfect smile: its kind of like taking a rough diamond and turning it into a gem!
As a dedicated husband and father, Dr. Wu loves spending time with his wife, Amy, and his children Aidan and Daphne. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, yoga, hiking, chess, art, golf, food and wine.

I went to see Dr.Wu to have an orthodontics consultation. I was very impressed by Dr.Wu's attitude to answer all of my question and his positive attitude for my treatment. I like his treatment decision to try not to move or shave the healthy teeth as much as possible, and he was upfront that this could make treatment take longer. I ended up not choosing him for personal reasons--not related to him--but I think I would have been very happy with him as my doctor:)

Hands down simply amazing orthodontics. Dr. Wu has made this process as painless as possible. He is gentle, communicates my plan of treatment accurately and always takes time. Grateful for him!

Very knowledgeable, good bed side manner and very sweet staff. When your dentist tells you that he sends his whole family including himself to Dr. Wu... you go to Dr. Wu!

Such a friendly and honest orthodontist. I came as a first time patient and thought I needed orthodontic work that would have cost me $500. The doctor explained that the work wasn't necessary due to my situation and future work that would be done. He could've easily done the work for $500 and I was so impressed how honest he was!

Dr. Wu is so gentle and kind!! Pam and Fer are also VERY warm and friendly. My daughter and I have always felt extremely comfortable with Dr. Wu's expertise and care. The new office is beautiful and has the most advanced technology. My daughter started as a patient 3 years ago and now I am starting as one. Highly recommend!!

I started out with Dr. Kowan. I paid him In full for my sons braces and retainers. When Dr. Kowan retired I was told Dr. Wu would be continuing with his patients. First time needing an adjustment to the retainer he wanted 150.00 just for walking back in the door. shame on you Dr. Wu I will never recommend your place of business.

Dr. Wu and his staff have been amazing with our daughter throughout her long orthodontic journey. Friendly and knowledgeable -- what more could anyone want?
