Our dental practice was started by Dr. Daniel Carlson in 1978. Prior to opening the office in Brookings, Dr. Carlson had offices in Estelline and Arlington, South Dakota. In 2015 Dr. Jordan acquired the practice and renamed it Lone Oak Dental. Here are the components of our Mission Statement, which guides our interactions with you:

I grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota. My dental degree is from the University of Minnesota, where I graduated third in my class. After dental school, I had the privilege of completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in San Antonio, Texas. This intense program gave me the training needed to confidently complete difficult procedures such as implants, cosmetics, full mouth reconstructions, and sedation dentistry. One of the greatest aspects of this program was that we treated U.S. Veterans and it allowed me to give back to those who have served our great country.

After the residency, we relocated to Iowa, where I practiced for three years. We are so happy and fortunate to live and practice in the Brookings area. I am married to the most creative and wonderful woman in the world, Liz. You may see our two young boys riding their bikes or swimming at the aquatic center. Feel free to stop in and say hi!

Tara is one of our gentle Dental Hygienists and went into dentistry because she wanted to do something in the health professions and found dentistry interesting. Her favorite aspect of dental hygiene is helping people improve their oral health. Tara is married to Steve and together they have 3 boys named Sam, Jay and Drew.

Diane is our cheerful Patient Care Coordinator at Lone Oak Dental. She is often the first person you will meet either on the phone or in person when you contact our office. Her favorite aspect of working at our office is greeting and working with the wonderful patients.

Outside the office, Diane enjoys sewing and gardening and of course, spending time with her grandkids. She has three grown children, Chris, Kirsten and Courtney and two children in law, Rob and Ashley. Her grand children are Mason, Jack and Hadley.

Joan is one of our talented Dental Assistants and chose dentistry as she spent a lot of time in the dental office as a child and thought it would be an interesting career. Her favorite aspect of dentistry is getting to know the patients and helping them achieve the smiles they desire and increasing their self-esteem. She enjoys baking, gardening, yard work and spending time at the lake relaxing, kayaking and canoeing. Joan is married to Andy and they have a shih-tzu dog named Samson.

When not in the office, Joan is active in her church and serves on the greeting team and works in the coffee shop. Joan has served on the South Dakota Dental Assistants Association Board and is currently the Secretary/Treasurer.

Steph is one of our friendly Dental Assistants and lives in Brookings with her son Keegan and their pet cat Maddie. She chose dentistry because she has always looked up to her aunt who is a dental assistant also. Her favorite aspect of dentistry is helping people overcome their fears in the dental chair and the variety of dental procedures.

Rachelle is one of our personable hygienists who went into dentistry because it felt like a good fit.She enjoys working with the patients, helping them to feel comfortable in the office and achieve a healthy smile for a lifetime. She commutes fromWatertown and is married to Dan. Between Dan and Rachelle, they have 5 grown children.

When not working at the dental office Rachelle spends her time helping out at the business she and her husband recently started in Watertown. She enjoys gardening, running, playing tennis, racquetball, and riding motorcycle.

Kayla is one of our personable Patient Care Coordinators that moved to Brookings, SD in the summer of 2012. She moved to Brookings to attend SDSU and to be closer to her sister who grew up in South Dakota. She has over 9 years of customer service experience. Her favorite part of this job is all the people she gets to meet and the unique stories they share. Kayla is engaged to Evan and they have a terrier mix named Chester.

Her hobbies include sewing, jewelry making, painting, and photography. When she isnt crafting, she is usually found in the kitchen trying out new recipes to give to family and friends. Kayla hasnt mastered the art of making small batches so there is always plenty to share!

The Dr and staff here never disappoint, walking in with pain and finding this situation and the dentist office in general a very intimidating place, I was met with incredible manner, quick action and nothing less the the feeling of love and support not only for this dental situation but life situation outside, followed up but a phone call by Dr Bradley himself to make sure all was okay, once again 5 Star experience!

Everyone really cares about you and treats you as a person not just another number. They take the time to listen to you and help determine the best solution to your specific needs.

Lone Oak Dental is amazing. Everyone is nice, friendly, and caring. They make sure you are comfortable throughout the duration of each visit. They help set up appointments, send reminders, and recently have a built new building, which provides a very inviting atmosphere. Dr. Bradley Jordan is a great guy who really cares about his patients. He personally called me a few hours after my root canal to make sure everything was okay and that I wasn't in any pain/discomfort. I highly recommend choosing this dental office!

The covid pandemic has been rough. I was having quite a bit of pain and my previous dentist could not schedule me for nearly a month. I called 10+ different dentists in the area and they all told me the same thing: they weren't accepting new patients or their wait times were weeks. My sister recommended Lone Oak Dental and I am incredibly grateful. They were able to schedule me in quickly and started resolving my issues. I had several cracked fillings and required 2 root canals. Needless to say it required several trips and many hours in the dental chair. I had a few 'emergency' appointments where my temporary cap came off and when one of my larger old fillings fell out. They scheduled me in quickly and I appreciate that, dental pain is the worst. All the staff was very friendly and made sure to do what ever could to make me comfortable while they worked. The offices are very clean and the chairs are comfortable (they just got new ones in... they are even better!). Dr Jordan was very thorough with explaining what was going on with my teeth and answering any questions I might have. All of my procedures were painless, which is honestly saying something, that has not been my experience at other dental offices at all. Even those horrid roof of your mouth shots were pretty painless! They accept CareCredit which is a big plus for me. They get their money and I can make the payments I can afford. They were also very understanding when my dental insurance switched mid year and my new insurer (whom they've never worked with before) was really slow with issuing my new insurance ID card so they could process my bill. Obviously not good situation for them but they were always very friendly/patient. I highly recommend Dr Jordan and Lone Oak Dental!

I highly recommend Lone Oak Dental, Dr. Jordan, and his team for your dental work. I receive exceptional and individualized care from teeth cleaning, filling, and crown replacement. Dr. Jordan and his team explain the processes and ease any anxieties. Every visit is professional and positive experience, and my whole family is taken care of. We feel right at home.

I recently visited Lone Oak Dental for the first time. I chose Lone Oak because I have an acute fear of dental procedures and Google said they had sedation dentistry. The office staff were very friendly and helpful, and I felt very comfortable coming in for the exam. The assistant helped me keep calm, and Dr. Jordan quickly diagnosed my problem. We set up an appointment to get my filling, and everyone there helped before, during, and after the procedure. I was able to remain calm and relaxed through the appointment, and my tooth was fixed quickly and easily. I would recommend Lone Oak Dental to anyone, but especially someone who has dental anxiety.

I first went to Lone Oak for an emergency tooth ache, which Dr. Jordan took care of quickly and pain free. After that first visit I was comfortable enough to return again and get a full check up done and I came away even more impressed. From past experiences I was always a bit nervous about the dentist which is why it took an emergency to get me in. They will definitely make sure you are completely comfortable and numb before they start. I am always nervous about being scolded about not taking care of my teeth very well, and while the staff and Dr. Jordan care about getting you're habits better they do it in a respectful way. **Probably the best thing about Lone Oak is the people, you walk in for an appointment and they all greet you with a smile and they know your name. Some of the most friendly people around.

I, like too many people, had put off necessary dental work for much too long. I have many areas that require work, but have seen Dr. Jordan and his staff twice in two weeks for emergency situations. He and his staff have been so kind. Never once was I pushed to get a full exam and dental plan or made to feel bad about how I had neglected dental care. Over the Thanksgiving break I was experiencing extreme pain from an abscessed tooth. I was at a local grocery store when I ran into a member of his helpful staff. She asked how I was doing after my previous procedure. When I explained what was going on, she stopped what she was doing and felt my glands, looked for swelling, and urged me to call him on his cell phone while he was in the cities. He answered and was willing to call in a prescription for antibiotics that same day. Without this type of care, the infection that had been brewing for two days could very likely have put me in the hospital. Instead, I was treated with dignity and compassion and received much needed care.

I have been going to Lone Oak Dental since I've been in college. I recently had a few cavities filled as well as my wisdom teeth removed here. Both times I was greeted with a pleasant smile and hello. Throughout the procedures, they made sure that I was doing okay and wasn't experiencing any pain. It has been quite a different experience than at my hometown dentist. At Lone Oak Dental, I feel like they actually care about me and the health of my teeth. I will definitely continue to receive my dental care at Lone Oak Dental!

Had a great experience along with some laughs from the staff. Great people and a very pleasant experience for something that can come off as scary as a rootcanal.

I am usually very nervous about going to the dentist so I did alot of research before picking a new dentist. I'm so glad I chose Lone Oak Dental! When I called to make an appointment for a cleaning right after opening back up after being closed for Covid 19 I was able to get in 2 days later! They were very polite and friendly on the phone! When I arrived to my appointment they were very inviting and made me feel comfortable, I wasn't even nervous or uncomfortable! I was so used to having a dentist tell me all of the things that could happen or things that needed to be done (I have braces right now so it seemed like there was always something) but when my cleaning was done the Dr. didn't even pressure me into anything or give me a list of things to worry about! I was so relieved and he even asked if I had questions or concerns, he actually cared!!! Thank you Lone Oak Dental and staff!!

Dr. Jordan recently worked on my teeth and I am so happy with the results! My smile used to make me insecure, and in photos, the first thing I'd notice is my teeth - I'd be reminded yet again with how unhappy I was with my smile. Well, thanks to Dr. Jordan, I can't stop smiling! He replaced composite caps on two of my front teeth with veneers and I'm so happy with my smile now! Thanks Dr. Jordan!
