Dr. Julie Lohris a Sioux City native, graduating from Heelan High School in 2000. In 2004, she earnedher Bachelor of Science in Biology at Briar Cliff University and her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2008 fromthe University of Iowa College of Dentistry. After graduation Dr. Lohr completed a one year GeneralPractice Residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and graduated in 2009.
Dr. Lohraccepted a full time position in Marshalltown, Iowa in July 2009 for Primary Health Care Inc., a FederallyQualified Health Center (FQHC). Dr. Lohr worked at PHC for nearly three years before making the muchanticipated move back to her hometown of Sioux City.
Dr. Lohr looks forward to serving the community for many years to come not only as a hard workingdentist, but as an active and involved citizen of Siouxland. She is also a member of the American DentalAssociation and the Iowa Dental Association. Dr. Lohr has been active with theSioux City Dental Society and theNorthwest District Iowa Dental Association holding officer roles. She has beeninvolved with Give Kids a Smile and Donated Dental Services to volunteer to those in need. Dr. Lohr feels it is very important to help those who cannot afford dental care. She is also on the Mercy Foundation Board.
Dr. Brandon Throckmorton was born and raised in Carroll, Iowa. He graduated from Carroll High School in 2011. In 2015, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Physiology at the University of Iowa followed by his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2019.
As amember of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry, he prioritizes his involvement with organized dentistry.He has frequently volunteered his time at Iowa Mission of Mercy, an annual large-scale two day dental clinic that provides free oral health care to individuals in need. Dr. Throckmorton is excited to join the Siouxland community and provide an exceptional patient experience.
Dr. Throckmorton could talk to you all day about the Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Vikings. In his free time, he loves all things outdoors including hunting, trapshooting, biking, snowboarding, and kayaking. On the days the weather is bad, he loves curling up on the couch with his wife, Karlie, and watching a good movie.

I was looking for a dentist office since I'm newer to town. I was nervous about going to a completely new dentist in a different town because I had gone to the same one my whole life. After doing some research, I felt like Dr. Lohr's office would be a great fit and WOW they did not disappoint! The whole staff was friendly the entire time and on point with giving me dental advice. I had to come back after my initial cleaning because I had two cavities that had started. Dr. Lohr fixed them right up in a timely fashion! I highly recommend this dental office over anyone in the Siouxland area and do not regret my choice of choosing Lohr Family Dentistry!!!

The staff couldn't have been any more friendly and professional. I had a cracked tooth, but it wasn't a for sure thing that I should put a crown on it. I was given a thorough explanation of the risks and decided to proceed with the crown. Oh boy was that a great decision. The tooth was cracked much more than we knew under the old filling. I am so happy it's being taken care of.

After my last dentist visit elsewhere I had a horrible experience and had been nervous to go to the dentist, but I was treated so great here and everyone was very nice and helpful. I had some fillings done and it was completely painless. It feels great knowing I don't have to be anxious of going to the dentist anymore.

A friend recommended Lohr Family Dentistry to me after struggling to find a welcoming dental practice following a move in 2015. I've been a patient for a few years now and can say with confidence it's the best in the area. Every single staff member is welcoming and helpful. The level of care is unrivaled, evidenced by their ability to remember my name and reference past conversations about both dental care and family. I recently completed the veneers process with Dr. T and am thrilled with the results. From the consultation to the multiple rounds of coloring fixes (on the vendor, not the practice), to navigating an implant, both Dr. T and Bri never wavered in their patience and determination to ensure my happiness with the end result. After this process, I'll be loyal to both Dr. T and Lohr Family Dentistry, and will recommend to friends as long as I live in Siouxland.

Sara was my son's hygienist and she was amazing. She explained step by step what she was doing which alleviated his anxiety. She spent a lot of time with him and was very kind and truly interested in my son as a person instead of just being a patient. Dr. Throckmorton was diligent in addressing my son's concerns about needing fillings and braces to the point that I think he's excited for his next visit-if that's possible. The office staff was wonderful in setting his appointment before our vacation and very knowledgeable with insurance and extremely friendly. I regret that we did not come here sooner!
