Horrible receptionist! I previously made an appointment with Lockport Dental Group and I left VERY UPSET. The receptionist was not a nice person at all. After reading other reviews it looks like I'm not the only one. I walked in to my appointment I scheduled a week prior and she looked at me confused and asked why I was there. Turns out it was a scheduling mistake and she never put me on the schedule in the first place. I 100% understand mistakes happen. But she somehow managed to make me feel stupid and that I was wasting her time for a mistake she made. She never apologized or even attempted to help get me on the schedule at a later date, she went as far as telling me even if I had the appointment today there is nothing they could do to help me (trying to justify the scheduling mistake she made). I even called back later and she answered, I stated that my run in with her was not very nice and I would like to speak to my doctor for help, to which she replied "I'm the receptionist that wasn't very nice to you." I'm sorry WHAT? I was very calm and said my part to which she continued to argue with me for a few more minutes trying to justify her actions earlier. I left my number for my dentist and hung up. Got a call from the dentist today saying he will send me a referral to go somewhere else. I've recently read multiple reviews stating similar situations with customer service at this office. CLEARLY something needs to be done because they are losing patients left and right just because of the way patients are handled. Very sad, very disrespectful towards patients, save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. Your problems will not be solved dealing with her.

Awesome dental office. Friendly, empathetic, and very knowledgeable. I have never had to wait more than about 5 minutes for my appointment. Also appreciate that they give you costs for anything up front, even if small.

had an appointment at 1: 30, desk clerk told me my appointment was 12:30, showed my appointment card it was 1:30 pm , clerk took the card, teared and throw it to the garbage. Dentist came out and told me that he has somebody at 1:30. they did not even apologize . i've waited for this appointment for 3 weeks, who would not get mad, i will never go back to this facility and cancel all my families appointments, i dont want them to experience what i experience maybe it has something to with color.

Dr. Bobak is amazing!! If I could submit pictures I definitely would. But, to explain my situation, I had very uneven teeth and my front 2 were chipped and had a decent sized gap. There was also some spacing and unevenness on the two next to my front teeth. I have always been SUPER insecure with how they looked so I never smiled much. But he fixed them with bonding and they look like I just had braces taken off!! He's also very nice and gentle! I definitely recommend him!

Been seeing Dr. Gerhard for years and he is very kind and gentle! When seeing a dentist I think that is most important.

I love Lockport dental. Dr. Gerhard is wonderful. I finally found a dentist that I feel comfortable to work on teeth. He did such a wonderful job that I told a family member and now that person has told 3 people about.

It took about 5 months to for them to finally submit my insurance correctly. I had to call the insurance and do their job for them to tell them how to correctly bill my insurance and they still couldn't figure it out. They wanted my husband's social security number when the plan ID was clearly on the card. Sounded like they were trying to get both money from the insurance claim and money from me as well. Will not be going back.

Only complaint is that they live in the dark ages when it comes to doing anything digital. I once asked if I could submit my insurance information via email and the woman on the phone acted like I just discovered fire or the wheel.

I just wanted to send a Huge thank you to the staff and Doctors of Lockport Dental Group! My fiance Dan needed to get in as a new patient emergency and was given the option to come in within an hour of calling...this was the first sign of a great dentist office concerned for a patients well being. It didn't stop there...Dr Mitchell made Dan as comfortable as can be. He gave him options and then assured him by going forth, doing a great job and the best quality dentistry he could do in the situation he was given to help Dan out. I myself, have worked in the dental field for over 15 years and am living out of town at the moment, so knowing that Dan and our family is in good hands over at Lockport Dental Group is very reassuring. Thank you so much for all your help and making me proud to say good dentists are still very much out there!

This place is terrible. I started going to them about four years ago. They treat you like a used car dealership. They always put the high pressure sell on you to get you to get the most expensive option. The lady who presented my options made me feel shame when I said I couldn't afford to do all that. Recently all I wanted was my teeth cleaned which is covered for free by my insurance. She insisted I had to have deep scaling. I said I just wanted a basic cleaning. She said "We can't because you have gum disease." She said it loud enough for everyone to hear. My gums do not bleed and I was informed by another dentist that my condition is not that severe. I finally just got up and left. First off I was having zero problems with my teeth. Back in 2013 when I did have an absess, I called them desperate from my work down in La Grange. They said they couldn't get me in. I found a strange dentist in Lagrange, walked in off the street, paid the guy 250 bucks to pull it. This place is only about $$$$. It's like when you get the oil changed on your car and they start slamming you to do all this other work. I tried with this place, I really did. It's clear they only want to bleed you for every possible dime. The welfare of the patient means nothing. If I could give zero stars I would.

I am writing to inform Lockport Dental Group that I will no longer be doing business with them, along with my wife and four children. I had called this afternoon from work (4-25-13) to check on an appointment I believed I had missed (to reschedule) and to set an appointment for my wife only to be abruptly placed on hold for over five minutes. Once the receptionist returned to the phone, I began to explain my needs when she interrupted and "checked my file," whereupon she stated that I was no longer allowed to "set an appointment," but rather had to call the "day of" to see "if" the dentist "would" be available. Could you imagine the world, if every medical professional acted this way? I have done business with Lockport dental six times, they were paid six times, and were about to gain at least three to four more visits (from me alone) before the offensive receptionist barked the ultimatum at me (a paying customer.) And based on current dental ADA codes, filed to insurance companies, on a national composite-financial scale, for services rendered, that's a lot of money lost due to poor hiring practices in choosing receptionists. Additionally, she had stated that this directive came from Dr. Jim Gerhard, which is further supported by Lockport Dental. Well as a customer first, and a patient (far-distant second) I am extremely disappointed that so-called professionals would deal in such absolutes, which contradicts patient care expectations that are deserving to the folks that purchased your services. Who do you think you all are? My wife, for instance had been a patient there for over two decades (her family longer than that,) and our children since they all grew teeth. You lost a lot of business, because of ultimatums and a crappy "phone-girl." I will pass this onto as many family members, friends, and individuals to educate them on the poor customer service relationships in hopes they stop coming to Lockport Dental. In this day and age, among a poor economy, and even recognizing that Obama-Care has largely ignored dental converge, I would think that your little group of "professionals" at Lockport Dental Group, would be more aware of the dangers of offending clients.
