Dr. Bruce Lockhart DDS, amassing over 35 years in dentistry experience, started his practice in 1988. Growing up, Dr. Lockhart originally sought out a degree in medicine until I had my front teeth broken while playing ice hockey. From there, he decided to make dentistry his lifes work when his teeth were restored, and he could smile again. In that instant, I felt whole again. Dr. Lockhart graduated from Purdue University in 1981 with a B.S. in biology - and later earning his D.D.S. Degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry. Approximately 4:45 p.m., a crown came completely out. I immediately called Dr. Lockharts office to see if he was available. He was so 15 minutes later; I walked into his office. I was seen immediately; the tooth was prepped and recemented. Less than a half-hour after the tooth came out, it was back in, and I was on my way to the Pacer game. Great job!I am never disappointed with Dr. Lockharts service. I have been seeing him for my dental care for a few years now and it seems that my dental health has only improved since I began seeing him. This accomplished two things. It provided an opportunity to assess the health of the tooth-as it is a deep and old filling. And secondly it improved the visual of the mouth by having a filling material which blends with the tooth color. Though no further care is needed at this time, it is valuable to know what may be necessary going forward which eliminates the dreaded element of surprise in dental care. Dr. Lockhart and his staff create a comfortable, caring environment which puts the patient at ease while undergoing what might otherwise be an anxiety filled procedure. Dr. Blakley's grandfather started the beginning of what is now known as Blakley Corporation. He is the youngest of five siblings and his mom always dreamed that one of her children would become a doctor - Benjamin was her last hope! Unfortunately, she passed away when he started high school and it became his goal from then on to fulfill his mother's dream.Dr. Blakley is from an engineering family, but it turned out to be the perfect fit for dentistry as well.
Dr. Blakley has lived locally his whole life. He attended Fall Creek Elementary and Eastwood Jr. High and graduated high school from North Central. He went on to attend college at IU Bloomington. Dr Blakley graduated IU School of Dentistry in 1980 and did further dental training at Midwest Implant Institute later on in his career.
Dr. Blakley's hobbies, outside of dentistry, include golfing, gardening, swimming and spending time with his family. He and his wife have two sons who are both married with three beautiful grandchildren.
