We have a highly advanced dental 3D Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scanner in our office now. Our CBCT scanner provides a focused view of the problem tooth and surrounding teeth by using a minimum dose of radiation (approximately 1.5 times of regular dental film radiation). This 3D CBCT provides an abundance of information about the teeth, jaw bone structure, and diseases that cannot be found on regular dental film. From this 3D CBCT scanner, accurate data lead to better diagnosis and treatment planning decision as well as potentially more predictable outcome at a much lower cost.

This advanced system gives our patients peace of mind, providing an integrated area for patients to receive the most advanced treatment possible. Advanced Endodontic System is a neatly-organized, streamlined system with a sleek design that enhances our patients experience.
Surgical microscope technology from ZEISS enablesbetter vision during endodontic procedures, which is key to improving the quality of the examination and treatment. The illumination puts light where it is needed, so that root canals are illuminated and imaged, whereby our doctors canvisualize high-contrast images illustrating minute details and fine structures.
We utilize advanced electronic root-length measuring technology to insure accuracy of instrumentation. These devices work by calculating resistance of tooth structure to provide a visual and audible signal indicating root length.
All radiographs in our office are taken with digital sensors. The acquired image is then sent to a special computer and can be instantly viewed on monitors in each operatory. These images require up to 90% less radiation than the conventional x-ray films. All images are stored in the digital chart for easy access and communication with patients and restorative dentists via printed reports or digital transmission.
Our special digital handpieces control high tech nickel-titanium instruments with great precision. These sterilized units sense when torque (tightness) approaches pre-set resistance levels, and they reverse rotation to adjust to these limits. The efficiency of these instruments helps to reduce the patients chair time.
Dr. Liwen Tao is an endodonstist in Clearwater, Florida, and has been practicing since 1989. She is proud of providing modern, high-quality root canal therapy in a friendly, soothing and comfortable environment. Originally from China, she received her Master of Science Degree (M.S.) in oral biology as well as trained for her endodontic specialty at the Medical College of Georgia (Augusta University).
Dr. Tao has been listed in the Whos Who in American Colleges and Universities as well as the Whos Who of Female Business Executives. She is aspecialist memberof the American Association of Endodontics, in addition to being a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Association of Endodontics, Florida Dental Association, Upper Pinellas County Dental Association, and West Coast Dental Association.
In addition, Dr. Tao has been active in dental research. She has published over 50 articles in the worlds leading dental journals and has made numerous national and international presentations. Locally, Dr. Tao provides charitable dental work for the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch, Homeless Emergency Project, Community Dental Clinic, Florida Mission of Mercy, and Gulf Coast Dental Outreach.

From the calming waiting room to the follow-up care, attention to detail in patient care is evident. Root canals are perceived as painful and difficult procedures, but my experience there (twice now) is very different. No pain, professional procedures and little or no discomfort after. Highly recommended.

I loved going to Dr. Tao. It was the best experience to a root canal. I highly recommend her. The office staff was very kind and compassionate. Dr. Tao's assistant was the best ever. I would do this again before even getting a filling!

I have never in my entire life have had Such a bad experience, I receive treatment on a tooth that did not hurt and this treatment has not been completed. I've been in pain since January.I tried to contact this office over this I have asked Shannon many times to speak to Lori.The office manager finally when I spoke to her she offered to refund me because it needed to be retreated , she said to get it done first and I called her two days later and my number is blocked. Been asking her to refund it to the Original way I purchase on care credit she wanted to write a personal check then my numbers blocked. I called from my company phone then got through to Shannon who answers and said Laurie's not there to call back Monday. This place has run me in circles not to mention the doctor was out of the country when I was experiencing this back in March as well had to pay Out of pocket to get evaluated. When she returned I still couldn't get in till weeks later for it not to be corrected. I have to pay double to have this tooth corrected from what they messed up really bad. All those five star reviews are paid trust me.

Dr. Tao is best endodontist I have ever experienced and I have had several root canals with a mouth full of soft teeth. If you need a root canal, even if it is your first one, make an appointment with Dr. Tao. She is quick and painless and takes the time to explain what she is doing and answers your questions. My daughter needed a root canal and was terrified. Dr. Tao & her assistant were so kind and calming. The front desk is professional but also very congenial. Dr. Tao is EXCELLENT!!!! My daughter had a great experience! Thank you, Dr. Tao!!! I insisted we see her, as I am a former dental assistant and dental front office manager & we would refer to her. The office setting is very comforting and a very friendly staff. The entire procedure by Dr. Tao was very efficient and helped reduce the stress level normally associated with a root canal. I haven't had any side effects so far. This is the fourth time I have had a root canal done in her practice and I am extremely satisfied. Dr. Tao has probably done 4 root canals for me over a 15 to 20 year period. I have always been treated very professionally by the entire staff. All of the procedures were pain-free and in a very timely manner. I feel very lucky to have found a top-notch dentist that knows what she is doing and treats me like a human being at the same time. i honestly think you cannot go wrong.

My experience was Dr.Tao was one of the finest root canal specialists I have ever had. She was extremely professional and her staff, too. They welcomed me and made me feel welcome. Explained what procedure she was doing with the root canal. Fortunately, she numbed the area, which kept me pain free during the procedure and after I went home. I would highly recommend her to anyone who was in need of a root canal. How I was able to obtain her services was through my brother's dentist here in Clearwater, Florida. Thank you for your service.
