If Dr. Gene Brabston could do it all over again, he would still be a dentist. Hes passionate about providing painless, stress-free dental care for the whole family, and is most proud of the lifelong relationships that he has established with his patients throughout his 40-year tenure.
When he was younger, a trampoline accident landed Dr. Brabston in a dental office where he received emergency care. After the emergency, he returned to the dentist for multiple follow-up visits, and the treatment he received was always friendly and painless. The compassionate care he received during and after his dental emergency was enough to spark Dr. Brabstons passion for dentistry.
Dr. Brabston received his DMD at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry and completed his General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. He has also obtained his Masters of the Academy of General Dentistry. A general dentist who has earned the designation Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) has completed a structured and demanding set of requirements involving all the dental disciplines. A Master has studied 16 disciplines in dentistry, such as periodontics, orthodontics and implants. When a dentist has achieved the Mastership Award, patients can be assured that their dentist is dedicated to providing the finest care in general dentistry.

April joined our team in early 2019 and has been a hygienist for over 20 years.She enjoys getting to spend time getting to know patients and helping them achieve a bright and healthy smile. In her spare time she enjoys reading, walking, and spending time with her husband, Patrick, and furbaby, Whitley. She and Patrick have lived all over the US and overseas while Patrick was in the armed forces.
Jennifer has been a member of the team since 1983, and also works as a part-time instructor for a dental assisting program at a local college. She has always found gratification in helping patients feel at ease and comfortable during their procedures because at Living Oaks Dental, patients are part of the family. She enjoys spending time with her two sons and family, along with spoiling her dog and cat. When she has time, she curls up with a good book or movie, and likes shopping best of all.
Toni became a registered dental hygienist in 1983 after completing her degree at UAB. Since then, she has worked in specialized areas of dentistry such as Periodontics, Implantology, and TMJ with anathological reconstructions. She has an 18 year old son, Daniel, and she loves to spend time with family, travel, and cook great meals
Lori has been a hygienist for over 30 years and has worked in pediatric, periodontal, and general dentistry offices over the years. She and her husband, Rick, have been married for 6 years and they each have two sons. In her spare time time she likes to check out the local consignment shops, walk, and garden. She genuinely enjoys giving people a more beautiful smile.
