Dr. Kinder was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. At age 13, Dr. Kinder's interest in dentistry was spawned through his many visits to the orthodontist and he made an early decision to pursue that dream.

After serving in the army for 4 years, Dr. Kinder completed his undergraduate degree from University of California Davis in 1976. He went on to work as a research associate in the Department of Physiology at UC Davis and then received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree in 1982 from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Kinder has had extensive advanced training in many realms of general dentistry including orthodontics, anxiety-free dentistry, cosmetics, and endodontics. He has a passion forbeing in the classroom and is a life long student of dentistry.

Dr. Kinder and his wife Sharon are richly blessed with 7 adult children and 12beautiful grandchildren (and counting). They enjoy being involved in their church (Two Rivers Church) and serving in several ministries. Dr. Kinder has made 5 trips to Guatemala to serve in dental clinics in remote villages and has also served as part of several medical missions toMexico. He has also enjoyed working in local health screening clinics in Knoxville.

The Pinhole Surgical Technique involves no scalpels or sutures. It also doesn't require the removal of soft tissue grafts from other parts of your mouth. This means the procedure is more comfortable, has a lower risk of bleeding and othercomplications, and results in a quicker recovery.

Have your gums receded over multiple teeth? With typical gum grafting, you may require several treatments to address one tooth at a time. On the other hand, with the Pinhole Surgical Technique, Dr. Kinder can often treat your entire mouth during one procedure.

Gum recession is the loss of soft tissue surrounding a tooth and along the gum line, exposing the base of the tooth and the tooths roots. When this happens, it causes gaps or pockets to form between the teeth and gum line. If left untreated, it can lead to dental sensitivity, plaque and bacteria buildup, tooth decay, tooth loss, and jawbone degeneration.

Gum recession is generally caused by poor oral healthcare, hormonal changes, periodontal disease, aggressive tooth brushing, heredity, smoking, and the natural aging process. Once severe recession has occurred, the only way to restore the appearance and health of your gums is through traditional soft tissue grafting or the Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique.

The Chao Pinhole Technique was created by Dr. John Chao as a minimally invasive procedure to treat receded gums. Dr. Gary Kinder in Knoxville, TN, has received special training in this technique and offers it to his patients at Living Life Dentistry.

The pinhole will close overnight and patients will notice a more symmetrical gum line as soon as the next day. To ensure a smooth recovery, we recommend keeping the surgical site clean and avoiding anything abrasive that might irritate the gums.

In order to qualify for the Pinhole Surgical Technique, you must have addressed any signs of active periodontal disease. At our Knoxville practice, we can help you achieve healthy gums through scaling and root planing or another periodontal procedure.

I love this office of people! The care and expertise is top notch and you are an immediate friend! If you are looking for a dentist in the Knoxville area, you will be quite satisfied all around! My teeth are in good hands!

I had some questions about an upcoming procedure and the necessity of some of the items. Dr. Kinder took the time to explain them to me in detail and gave me the pros and cons of eliminating some of the processes. He gave me the information I needed to make an informed decision about what to do. Was very pleased.

If you and our dentist agree to proceed with ClearCorrect treatment, we will begin by creating an impression of your bite. Dr. Kinder will reference this model as he creates a personalized plan for you. Then, we will send your impressions and our dentist's blueprints to a trusted ClearCorrect lab.

Once you receive your clear aligners, it will be time to begin your treatment. To experience the best results, you will have to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day, only removing them when you are cleaning your teeth, eating, or drinking. You will switch to a new set of aligners about every two weeks. Our dentist will schedule periodic checkups at our Knoxville office so he can monitor your progress.

Most patients reach their smile goals in 18 months or less, but every case is different. Eventually, if you wear your aligners as instructed, your teeth will be brought into perfect alignment. You'll be able to go through life with increased confidence and improved dental health.

At Living Life Dentistry in Knoxville, TN, we want to make ClearCorrect affordable for as many patients as possible. If you have dental insurance, there is a chance that your plan will contribute towards the cost of treatment with clear aligners. We can help you review your insurance plan so that you maximize your available benefits.

If your insurance won't cover ClearCorrect, or if you don't have dental insurance, our team can help you secure financing through CareCredit. CareCredit works just like a credit card for dentistry, allowing qualifying patients to pay for treatment through low-interest or no-interest payment plans.

Dr. Kinder has more than 35 years of experience with cosmetic dentistry. If you are unhappy with the appearance of your teeth, why stop at straightening them with ClearCorrect? Instead, allow our dentist to combine multiple cosmetic treatments into one streamlined smile makeover.

A smile makeover is a custom-designed program that incorporates multiple cosmetic procedures. Your smile makeover may include teeth whitening treatment, dental veneers, dental bonding, gum contouring, and more.

Crowns are dental restorations that resemble natural teeth. They are typically used to repair breaks and protect against future infection. They can also be attached to dental implants in order to replace missing teeth.

Dr. Kinder of Knoxville, TN, uses durable, natural-looking dental crowns that can withstand years of normal chewing, speaking, brushing, and flossing. At the end of dental crown treatment with our dentist, you'll have a completely functional bite and an attractive smile.

Our dentist will administer a local anesthetic and then precisely remove any decay from the tooth. He will then remove a small amount of enamel so that the permanent crown will fit snugly over the tooth. At the end of this process, he will take impressions of your bite, which our partner lab will reference when designing your final restoration.

After Dr. Kinder has taken impressions, he will place a temporary crown over your modified tooth. You will need to wear the temporary crown for two to three weeks while the technicians at the lab fabricate and hand-finish your permanent crown out of porcelain, zirconia, or IPS e.max.

After two to three weeks of wearing the temporary crown, you will return to our Knoxville office to receive your permanent crown. Our dentist will secure the crown over the tooth with dental cement. You can now return to chewing, speaking, and smiling with ease and confidence.

Dr. Kinder and his staff are top notch. I have been going to them since 1997 and both of my children prefer to got there instead of a pediatric dental office. I have not had the first problem there. I will continue to recommend them to anyone that asks.

Many patients are intimidated by the idea of root canal therapy, but in the hands of an experienced dentist like Dr. Kinder, root canal treatment is quick and gentle. The purpose of root canal therapy is to remove infected material from the interior of a tooth. Root canal procedures are always concluded with the placement of dental crowns.

If you suspect you have a dental infection, you should contact our office as soon as possible. If left untreated, the infection can spread to other parts of your body and cause serious health issues. Get in touch with us today so we can save your tooth and provide you with a state-of-the-art dental crown.

Dental implants are the premier tooth replacement solution in modern dentistry because they replace the roots of missing teeth. Implants fuse directly with the jawbone, so crowns attached to implants will not slip or slide like traditional dentures do. Also, because implants integrate with the jawbone, they prevent the bone atrophy that accompanies tooth loss.

Dr. Kinder has the skills and expertise to handle every stage of implant treatment himself. He will not have to refer you to other specialists. If you have a missing tooth, contact our office today to get started on your journey towards a complete smile.

Living Life Dentistry - General dentist in Knoxville, TN

Because our porcelain, zirconia, and IPS e.max crowns resemble natural teeth so closely, Dr. Kinder often incorporates dental crowns into smile makeover plans. A smile makeover is a custom-designed treatment plan that combines multiple cosmetic procedures to radically overhaul the appearance of your smile.

Always professional, kind and supportive, the staff here is top notch. Dr. Kinder is the honest second opinion I was looking for two years ago regarding gum surgery and has proved to be the best dentist I've had in a long time. He will be up front with you regarding his recommendations, but is never "selling" or "pushing" like so many other dental establishments. During these strange times of Covid 19, I highly recommend this office for your dental needs. They're following every safety protocol and I feel very comfortable with this team handling my dental care during these months or anytime. I'd give this crew 10 stars if I could.

So today I came in to have x-rays taken and have my teeth cleaned. What a great experience. The Dental Hygienist (Tara) was amazing. She was thoughtful, asked important questions to always keep me comfortable and was a great conversationalist and educator through the process. I really enjoy coming to Living Life Dentistry. Everyone does an awesome job.

Friendly staff. Always a clean environment. I appreciate they talk with you and educate you on being 'proactive' with your individual dental needs. I have NEVER been 'sold' something I didn't need nor do they push ANY additional services that are unnecessary. I appreciate and enjoy everyone that works there!

I've been treated by Dr. Kinder for over thirty years. I wouldn't go anywhere else. He has helped our children through braces and me through root canals and crowns. Besides being a wonderful dentist he is the kindest person I have ever met. If you want to be treated kindly, fairly and professionally I couldn't recommend anyone other than Dr. Kinder.
