When he first moved to Bend in 1998, he helped establish Century Dental Group. He then founded Living Dental Health to fulfill his dream of being an entrepreneur. The name Living Dental Health is synonymous with Dr. Engels desire to help his patients quickly and safely address any oral health issues so they can live a healthy, full, and active life here in Central Oregon.
When it comes to patient care, Dr. Engel is a bit of a detective. He strives to understand each patients needs and then provides recommendations to help them achieve their desired results. To Dr. Engel, there is no cookie-cutter approach to dentistry. Hes been trained in so many ways that he can pull options from his tool belt that may be foreign to other dentists.
Dr. Engel firmly believes that his success in helping patients is dependent on the ability to work as a team with his patient to deliver exceptional results. Plus, Dr. Engel wants a patient he can get to know on a first-name basis, so when he sees them around town, he can say hi and pick up where they left off.
An avid athlete, Dr. Andy started skiing shortly after learning to walk and had aspirations to compete in the Olympics skiing moguls. He decided that dentistry was probably the safer option, and were glad he did (although it would have been pretty cool to have a former Olympian as a dentist). If you ever see him up at Bachelor, dont hesitate to say hello and join him for a run (or three). He loves skiing with friends.
But his greatest love of all is spending time with his family, which includes his wife, Francie, son Sean, and daughters, Ally and Rhone. Sean and Ally are both grown but live in Bend. They enjoy family dinners whenever they can wrangle everyone together. Rhone is Dr. Andys youngest daughter, who still lives at home with him and Francie, along with their adorable Corgi, Murphy.
At Living Dental Health, we are pleased to be in-network with a variety of dental insurance plans. If your dental plan is not one we are in-network for, we can still provide the same excellent services out-of-network. If you dont see your plan below, give us a call to determine if your familys treatments are covered.
Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in advance. If you have questions, we are happy to provide clarification. Also, we accept most major credit cards and offer financing through CareCredit as well as an in-office dental plan.

Great friendly staff. Dr. Engel is a very very good dentist. He is the best dentist I've had my entire life and I've been to a lot of dentists. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Engel and his staff are absolutely wonderful. Extremely professional and caring. My dentist experience previous to Living Dental Health made me not want to see a dentist ever again. For that reason, I was behind on routine dental work. Everyone at Living Dental Health made me feel cared for and didn't make me feel guilty for needing to get caught up on cleanings. I also recently underwent a wisdom tooth extraction. I was absolutely amazed by how quick and easy it was. A huge thanks to everyone at Living Dental Health and a special shout out to Nicole and Chisty for their tremendous work.

My experiences (and there have been many in the last 6 months due to an old bridge that needed to be replaced and an implant) have been nothing but 100% positive. From the amazing way you are treated when Janet answers the phone to the friendly dental technicians and of course, Dr. Engel...you will feel like you are their only patient. I am VERY picky about my dentists and I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Engel and his staff.

I've had extensive dental from bridges (3) implants (1) crowns, numerous to basic dental. Dr Engel and his staff are extremely professional, cutting edge and hands on. All staff are incredibly nice and skilled. The office is situated in the woods and large windows provide beautiful views while patients receive care. Dr Engle is top notch. I'm happy to be treated at his practice.

The staff up front (Kate and Co) are always helpful and upbeat. Whether it's finding your next appointment time or going over fees for the day. The dentists and hygienists are always informative and take the time to make sure your dental service is done correctly. I often feel very informed about current processes and what my next visit will entail. I refer living dental help to anyone asking for a good dentist in the Bend area.

I was referred by a friend who also experiences dental anxiety. I had delayed care to a point im not super proud of. I've now had two visits with the clinic to make progress towards fixing the issues I had and I can say that I may finally have the courage to (mostly) overcome my phobia. Great place!

Always friendly staff. I had to bring my daughter (2.5 yr) with me to my cleaning and the gals in the front were great watching her and helping with her needs. After she was done in the front, Dr. Engles let her sit on my lap and watched him work. Very family friendly, responsive and care about your dental health.

Dr. Andy is an amazing dentist! With a calm demeanor, he is thorough in explaining every procedure. Due to a recent dental emergency, he and his staff were able to promptly get me in to resolve the situation quickly. A great dentist and staff/team that are welcoming and friendly!

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences at Living Dental. Dr. Engel and the team really care about their clients. Recently, I called in about a cracked tooth, and while they were closed for a long weekend, I was still able to communicate with the Dr. to see what could be done to help. Since it wasn't painful, i didn't make it in right away. Turns out it was a stain on my tooth, not a crack, but when I made it in, he took the time to polish it off as much as he could and reassured me that I did the right thing by letting them know. Their willingness to be available for small things like this is what will set them apart from other offices.
