Dr. Black is a Board-certified prosthodontist with a passion for collaborating with our periodontists with a team approach to complex cases. He is an experienced master clinician with expertise in patient-centered treatment planning in prosthodontics, dental laboratory, and teaching.
Dr. Black was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in South Florida. He attended undergraduate college and dental school for his Bachelor of Science (BS) and Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degrees, respectively, in the dual admissions program at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After obtaining his DMD in 2010, He commissioned as a captain in the Air Force and completed a 1-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD-1) at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. Afterward, Dr. Black eventually completed a 3-year specialty residency in prosthodontics at Lackland Air Force Base (Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland) in San Antonio, Texas in 2015. At the same time, he obtained his Master of Science (MS) degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He then had the honor of serving as part of the dental team for five years at Langley Air Force Base (Joint Base Langley-Eustis) in Hampton, Virginia.
Dr. Black assists in making Village Periodontics a problem-solving and highly reliable dental practice. With his experience in patient-centered treatment planning in prosthodontics, dental laboratory, and teaching, an excellent result can be achieved even in the most challenging cases.
In his spare time, Dr. Black indulges in fitness and wellness. He also loves to explore thrilling experiences such as hiking, indoor skydiving, zip-lining, traveling with friends, and enjoying rollercoasters (for the kid in him!)
While my first education was in Nursing studies, I have spent 20 years of my career providing concierge and management services in dentistry 10 years in periodontal care and 10 years in Smile Design. I am thrilled to be on the Village Periodontics team, in an office that provides first-quality dental and periodontal care in a state-of-the-art environment with warmth and careful attention to detail all of the things I was looking for in my new dental home!
When you visit, my main focus is on creating a positive and professional environment for our team so together we can provide the highest level of patient care. But my favorite part? Thats providing you with the knowledge you need to make informed and confident decisions that improve your oral and overall health.
I believe that the foundation for better oral health is based on trust, understanding, communication, and respect. If we always display these abilities as a team, then we can make a positive difference in your life and thats the best part of working in dentistry!
I was born in Bushnell but spent most of my adult life in Wellington. Wanting to be closer to my family again, I made the move to Ocala with my husband James and our children in 2018 and I love being back! I dont have any formal pets rather, weve created a wildlife oasis in our backyard. Hummingbird feeders, nesting tools, and watering sites bring nature to us, and we quite enjoy it!

Dr. Livada and her assistants did a great job on my extraction and subsequent implant. Professional and pleasant. No pain, no problems. They exceeded expectations and I highly recommend their practice.

Just before relocating from Michigan to The Villages, I learned that I had an infection in a root following implant and crown work. There was no time to address the issue in Michigan but attention was urgently required. Even with a very capable periodontist addressing my problem, it was likely that a very costly extraction with replacement implant and crown would be necessary. I contacted a friend, Dr Michael Baity. He had a very successful periodontics practice and had taught the discipline at the University of Michigan. He recommended that I see Dr Livada ASAP. I was able to get an appointment on short notice and she very soon afterwards did scaling and grafting to address the problem. She was able to save the existing implant. I was impressed and would unconditionally recommend her to anyone. My wife has a different but nagging oral problem and has just made an appointment to see Dr Livada. I am very confident that my wife will also be in very good hands. MFT

Dr. Rania Livada and her assistants were delightful and skilled professionals ready for any dental eventualities, and indeed I had a small mouth, a unique nerve track and a tooth that was amazingly difficult to extract. Dr. Livada did a great job with the extraction, bone graft and implant process. She demonstrates exceptional attention to procedure and details. Each visit was a pleasure. The offices are impeccably clean, and the waiting room is especially beautiful (though waiting was brief). Without reservation I recommend her for your periodontal and implant needs.

I can not find the words to express how impressed I was with Dr. Livada and her staff at Village Periodontics. In 70 years I have had a fair amount of dental work done, but no one has impressed me more or made me feel more comfortable. Dr. Livada's skill, bedside manner, and desire to do the very best for her patients, is second to none. To say that she is really good or that I recommend her would be an understatement. The people who referred her to me thought she was great. And, I think she is great.
